The dub made me feel miserable, the sub made me feel empty. Both are great in their own way and both made me have existential crisis. Thank you dazais lol
In the Dub there is emotions, Dazai is asking a question as if he knew there really was a reason after all but was waiting for it, he’s unsure and conflicted. However in the Sub Dazai voice let no place for arguing, he knows there is no reasons. His voice is empty and he’s sure there is no value in living.
I like how in sub dazai sounds like a kid (use of boku) which makes what he says more heartbreaking. In dub He sounds like an adult. I watch the dub clip more though
I would say sub. I don't think anybody understands Osamu's character even the anime and the manga, as someone who has read the manga and the novels of the real life Osamu and is someone who is a fan of him I myself can't understand this man. The sub it has- its just- sounds dunno how to describe that but it sounds amazing it feels chilling, but the dub, the voice has sadness , It proves that he still feels like a human. That is the point, Osamu is like a void, it's like positive and negative clashes and turn null, he's neither emotionless nor emotional the rest you can figure it out. I can't explain him with just this, he's just too complicated. But I know why everyone likes the dub, it's because his voice has- just dunno and he makes you feel stuff(and his voice sounds hot). But I understand, that's your preference. (I'm sorry I'm not good at english, it's not my main language. But you get the point right?)
I can totally appreciate both, but, yeah, I have to agree with you. The sub is just so... versatile, which works well with Dazai's more playful side, as for the rare moments of sadness/despair, it feels slightly more vulnerable in a way? In this scene, the difference is even more drastic. En Dazai feels more jaded, cynical, but slightly reflective, maybe? Jp Dazai, on the other hand, gives me a vibe of a child (teen), who's almost oblivious to the meaning of what they're saying. It's like, the facade is totally stripped and we get this kind of vulnerability that we didn't expect... because the inflection is just so null, like a blank slate. Exactly because he isn't sad, scared, or reflective... as though his rhetoric question in of itself is null and void. We get a slight peek into the hole inside him, and it's lonely and terrifying... to the observer, of course. He himself doesn't feel any of that, because at this point it's almost become mundane. It's always there, it's become him. Fuck me, Oda was definitely one of the most emotionally intelligent characters in this series. I really miss him. Well, regardless, that's my impressions of both voices.
I can’t decide, they’re both so good! If I was going to decide on the way the words are laid out, I’d prefer the sub, but both are amazing so I’d say it’s a tie.
Mamoru Miyano his brilliant voice acting sound more dramatic and hilarious just perfectly suits Dazai's self-inflicted personality. Kaiji Tang that talentless moron's voice acting sound just like a cold-blooded robot speaking American adapted script lines without any emotional feeling it just clearly not good enough compared to Japanese seiyuu experts their original voice acting theory.
The dub sounds a bit mature for his age i do like the delivery but i feel like the sub one sounds like nothing. Like ther is nothing it just feels emty which for me fits dazai's character better

I think the voice has more sadness in sub, and this voice suits him better, that's my opinion.
you speak waaaay better English than me and I'm a native speaker you're doing fine
I'd love to double suicide with Mamoru Miyano's charming voice and I don't give a shit about that cringe noise by Kaiji Tang's horrible dub version
Same I'm going with sub

To be honest the dub was actually very good in this
nothing beats dazai in the sub and this scene is a perfect example his vc is perfect for the character
He is also the va for his role as dazai again in a different series I don't remember the name
Nah the dub is better
@@dazai2734 damn bro fair point cant argue with facts and logic

Dazai's japanese voice 😩🥵✋
Dazai's voice is perfect in sub...
Rare occurrence but the dub is way better here
For me both sub and dub are equal
Both make you feel empty and sad especially if you suffer from any mental illness
Dub. I like the emphasis and perhaps even quiet disdain placed on the word "thing."
I listen to this dozens of times! I just love listening to all their voices!

I’m terms of conveying emotion, it’s the dub
In terms of accuracy in portrayal of character, easily sub
ISTG I KEEP HEARING KEITH SILVERSTEIN IN DUBS😭
The dub sounds a bit mature for his age i do like the delivery but i feel like the sub one sounds like nothing. Like ther is nothing it just feels emty which for me fits dazai's character better
i love the dub but in my opinion the sub fits dazai more. the lack of any emotions in his voice matches his unability of understanding human emotions
Ngl the Dub version, to me at least, is superior in this scene
I really like the dub for the first time
Dub solos
EPISODE????
Both is so good 😻
Dub wins🤷🏿♂️
I prefer the sub, but the dub's good too.
