I stayed in Stuttgart and we were driving across Europe, the front desk girl at the hotel said the parking was full, when she could see I was parked out front and had small children etc. so I asked her what should I do and she said find parking elsewhere. So I asked if she knows where the closest parking is and she told me about a block away, some public parking… ok. It is my first time in Germany I don’t know how that works and she said it would cost like 5 Euros but it ended up being 25 Euros. When I asked for a comp to cover it since I had reserved parking with my reservation she said it will have to get approved by management. I said ok if you approve the refund will it go to my card? She said no they will provide cash. I said I’ll be in America will you mail me the cash somehow? She said no that is against policy. If I didn’t think two steps ahead and just said OK I would have been totally stuck, terrible customer service! Equivalent of being stonewalled at a government office in the US but it was a hotel aka service industry. THEN three months after returning to America I get three tickets in the mail, none of which I will pay. Two were for 20 Euros each for speeding 10km/hr somewhere in downtown and I was going slower than all the surrounding traffic… another one was for much more Euro I forget how much because my rental car from Italy didn’t have a smog sticker or something like that for their city smog zones. I was utterly shocked… I have German ancestry and the people I spoke with were perfectly nice but had ZERO problem solving or critical thinking skills, like lemmings. They will die before thinking outside the box. That country is screwed. That education system is probably good if you want a worker wagie robot child, escape ASAP from there!!
Fled 3 years ago. Good people can succeed in all environments, but why to build a startup, or freelancing business in a country that makes that 5x harder, and additionally takes away most of your earnings, while - in contrary to the extensive employee protection - still pushes all risk and extra responsibilities to you. Just my humble opinion, but is you are a self-made person, you face a lot of adversity there, and will only be able to build wealth from your work, once you are big enough for tax-optimized setups in most cases. But yes, the administrative screwups and "following not my problem" mentally is typical - to be fair typical for most state employees, or governmental bodies in the world.
I am Indian living in Germany. My complications with govt starts a month ago where I signed a full time work contract. I had sent it for approval to govt ofice ( yes it must be approved by govt ) and they said I cannot work because its unqualified job. After that I had applied unemployement benefit but I wont get that because I signed a termination contract because govt denied me to work..... So if I did not start working and applied unemployement benefit I would have got it but since I tried getting into a job they said noooo ..... Bloddy hell .... !!!
Germany is going to kick all the brown people out again. I'd be careful. Austria just went plurality Nazi. Only a matter of time before it's a majority like in the Ukraine.

As expat who already left Europe, I feel sad only for those few Europeans who against concept of big government. Others fully deserve what they get, they voted for this time and time again.
UK is about to introduce the same rental housing energy efficiency upgrade requirements AND new laws that means landlords can't evict tenants to do the work.
The German higher education system issued not so great. No German University is in the top 10 globally; the USA and UK both have 4 Universities out of the top 10. Germany's highest ranked university comes in at 28. Digitalisation in Germany is disastrously behind, the Deutsche Bahn train system is dysfunctional and German energy policy is dire.

This is 100% true in my experience and opinion. When you need a lawyers permission to say anything and your accountant’s permission to spend anything… it’s just not worth it
He probably talks about businesses. In France for example I know that many bakeries got their electricity bill 10X, and many had to close businesses due to that.
No, Germany now owns the majority of Nuclear power plants in Sweden, which they have to export due to EU demands, which put the Swedish people in a bad situation.
QUESTION: Canadian guy looking to create OffShoreCo in Anguilla with majority control/mgmt and activities in Anguilla owned by CanCo holding? Would appreciate your thoughts thank you!
I feel this too and consider leaving in the close future. This is what happens when administration grows too big with people who hate businesses and only want control and to feel good.
It really shouldn’t be a surprise, should it? When The United States destroyed the Nordstream Pipeline in order to harm Russia, didn’t it harm Germany far more?
I really enjoy watching your channel. But I really have to intervene and write a comment here. I have no idea who tells such horror stories. But let me go into a few points here. Firstly, energy prices rose sharply in 2022 by 30-40% for a few months after the conflict in Ukraine. They have now even fallen back to 2019 levels. So there is not even inflation in energy. Secondly, you are talking about the building law here. That simply says that if your heating breaks down, you have to replace it with a more energy efficient one. And you still have 15-20 years to do this. You could also say that if your old heating breaks down and you buy a new one, you simply have to buy a more environmentally friendly one. That is not the big problem. Thirdly, your point that you have to register a business for PV systems is correct, but this only applies to really large PV systems that you put up on meadows and fields. Anyone who installs a PV system on the roof of their house does not have to register a business. He has not to pay taxes on the electricity he produces. He can sell this electricity to the power plant and even collect the profits from it completely tax-free in Germany - that doesn't sound bad at all, does it? Well, you can say a lot of things are bad, but you don't just have to read the headlines in sensationalist newspapers, you should also look into the matter in general and then you'll see that there are actually hardly any changes. Typically German, the bottom line is that everything stays the same. But on the other hand, that's also a great thing, because it helps a lot with planning security.

I can never tell if people in government are incompetent or they are doing it on purpose. And/or both.
Agenda 2030
It's on purpose. Germans are being punished. They have been for 100+ years. Loxism.

Smart people stay away from the Middle East if they support human rights, especially women's rights. Argue if you want, I don't read responses.

Electricity did not go from 200 to 2000!!! Seriously!!!?
No. Energy prices jumped by 30-40% in 2019, but are now back at the 2019 price level.

Ukraine war started in 2022. Not 2019
@@TonyFontaine1988False, Ukraine war started in 2014 when Donbas rebelled against the Ukrainian government, and russia sent troops to Crimea.
