      @@arduinoguru7233 You instantly have my respect. Web design for me is my achilles heel haha. I love design but coding is a whole other thing.
      I agree this is a great update. I am a long time user too and I have loved seeing the app evolve. Great devs indeed

    Hi Rob
    I have watched a few videos with the updates on the 1.4 version, and I am pleased to say your version is a much better one, you explain the updates in a more detailed manner and not rushed like some others.
    Thanks

      Hello again John,
      Thank you for that my friend, I feel honoured. Also, I have just recieved a comment saying I was too slow. Fortunately I do not agree & am waiting on clarification from the commentor. I purposely try to slow myself down so it is so much easier to follow. Clearly some people do not like it but I haven't made my content for them. I have made them for people like yourself.
      With that said, this is why I do my content in this way & it also why comments like yours, mean so much. So, from the bottom of my heart - Thank You.

      @@ButtonPressGraphics Your review is the best quality. I say that as an inkscape developer, I feel like you showed a greater truth and did better journalism and that's worth waiting for.

      @@doctormo Wow! Thank you so, so much my friend. Coming from yourself, I consider that a huge compliment. With that said, we share a passion for Inkscape & I really appreciate the hardwork you have put in. I saw just how much you did within the patch notes. You have done an amazing job with this update so again, thank you & #StayCreative ☺

    Inkscape 1.4 Frequent Crashes when moving objects or working with complex files, especially on Windows 11

    • @ButtonPressGraphics
      @ButtonPressGraphics  2 месяца назад +1

      @@tinkukheria3296 There are some crashing issues when the strain on the hardware becomes too much. As the project becomes more complex, the strain can cause crashes. This is particularly common when there are a lot of nodes. That is likely the reason my friend. You will notice that the app will become sluggish when it is struggling.
      My suggestion is to always try and reduce the amount of nodes where possible. Alternatively, you can create separate elements. For example, you can create a background and export it with a very high DPI and move on to the next element, like the foreground. Once you have created all the elements you can then put them all together.
      Lastly, if there are any bugs or issues, you are best off reporting it directly to the dev team via their website. This helps the team massively and a lot of 1.4's bug fixes were due to users doing exactly that. The dev team are usually very good at fixing issues quickly.
      I hope this helps my friend.

      It is funny you should say that, my friend. I was thinking that a small clip/demo could be shown if required. Maybe a button named "Show me" that could play the demo on what the tool does.
      All in all, I think this is a great update.

      I know it is definitely in Preferences but I cannot say with certainty where in the Preferences it is located because I am not currently near my PC.
      Have a look and you should be able to find it.

      @ButtonPressGraphics  2 месяца назад +1

      @@PerfectWoodGrain Unfortunately, with it being run solely by volunteers, it has a fair few bugs. Personally, I would still prefer a buggy app over any Adobe product.
      I suggest reporting the bugs you find via the Inkscape site, and then maybe soon, we will have a fix.

      @@ButtonPressGraphics Thanks. I definitely prefer open source software. Just frustrating trying to learn a program and thinking I'm the problem when in fact some vital tool is failing miserably... I had to revert to the previous version for corner rounding to work at all on my Win 10 machine.
      BTW, I spent a month looking for the best basic training for Inkscape and you win by a landslide. Methodical and reasonably paced with very little glossing over of important steps. Thank you.

      @@PerfectWoodGrain Thank you so much for that. That is quite the compliment & it certainly isn't wasted on me.
      I have no doubt that 1.4.1 will release and make most of the problems dissappear. I honestly get the frustration too. Although I have been relatively lucky with the bugs that I have encountered (Not as many as most).
      Regardless, you can rest assured that when the next update is released with all the bug fixes, I will cover it in a new video
