    There is also a Nikwax product that you use in the washing machine to recharge the waterproofing

      @@unclebillscamping Wanted to provide a little insight here! Standard household detergents (powder or liquid!) leave behind hydrophilic residues that actually ATTRACT water and contribute to a piece of gear wetting out. That is why it is best to use a cleaner like Tech Wash first to clean, because it is fully water based and washes out, just leaving behind a clean piece of gear!!

      Im sure you could as this is a spray treatment to be applied to damp. I would run it through the rinse cycle twice just to make sure the detergent is completely off of the fabric before application.

    Washing the Gore Tex in regular detergent is fine. You probably did not reactivate the DWR after it dried.

    • @unclebillscamping

      A lot of it varies on usage and how much you need to clean the garment. For me I only need to reapply it once in the cuff area as a precaution after cleaning that area late last year. Unfortunately for me the lining of the jacket started to fall apart before the dwr treatment wore off.

      It will do 3 washes at 100 ml per wash. Each wash can be two garments (for me typically one ski jacket and one ski pants each wash).

  • @sw0mpy
    @sw0mpy Год назад +1

    I gave you dislike because of two reasons. The first minute of the video is complete wast of time. Secondly you did not mention that the spray bottle nozzle has three positions. OFF-SPRAY-STREAM. I noticed this after I had STREAMED my jacket with almost 1/2 of the bottle and most of the liquid was in pools on top of my jacket. I wasted so much of that stuff, for no reason.

    • @unclebillscamping
      @unclebillscamping  Год назад +7

      Wow, that is very unfortunate. I’m sorry you had an issue figuring out how to use the spray bottle. If there had been a stream option on the bottle I used I would have mentioned it but after double checking my bottle only has off and on and there is no option for stream only spray.
