But its not a smoking gun and can be easily refuted as not criminal as there was no intent. Also the one fact that i think is not well talked about is this was paid from Trumps personal account and not any business accounts or the campaign. So falsification of business records is going to be tough to prove as they have not proven the records are even business records and not personal records. Second there is nothing showing Trump intentionally falsified those records there is testimony that says he didnt have any intentions or even handle that part in anyway. So marking some checks as legal expenses from a personal account is not criminal. Also cohen credibility is shot as he is the only one who can provide testimony on the intent to falsify those records. I do not see how Trump is guilty at this point.
When the defence attorney who is questioning the prosecution's biggest witness is more full of nervous excitement than the witness himself you know the defence is in trouble.
There's nothing abnormal for Cohen to hate this man along with more than 50% of this country, and we didn't go to prison for lying for him!
It gives him a motive to lie about Donald Trump. He has financial motivations as well as revenge motivations. He even wrote a book called revenge. Bottom line is he's a serial liar and that was made clear today. If there is a fair jury there this is an acquittal. This will likely be a hung jury though since we're in NY.

Cohen show complete loyalty to Dump, taking out a loan on his home to pay the $130,000, hush money. He was protecting Dump as if the temptation with Daniels had become public that could have presented quite a problem for you know who.

It's part of the process. Unfortunately the Cohen ship was torpedoed today, and it's sinking fast. What a disaster for the prosecution.
No, he isn't but how he conducts himself as a witness might make a difference in this trial. According to most accounts he did pretty well. There might have been a hiccup here and there but nothing that takes away from the actual evidence.

Keith is with Trump at the time and in typical Trump fashion Trump isn't interested in Cohen's problems but wants information about the Storm Daniels payment. Keith requests Cohen to call on Trump's behalf. Cohen tries to begin the conversation by discussing the harassment but is immediately cut off and forced to discuss the Stormy Daniel's payment instead. All done within a minute and a half. Easy.

Comment about this issue that Cohen didn't talk about the 14-year old prank caller before. I've been an expert witness on many occasions as a commercial r.e. appraiser, and if a cross-examining attorney asked me why I'd never talked about something irrelevant to the case at hand--let's say a note about talking to a broker about their kid's baseball game--I don't think that would impeach my testimony about what the same broker told me about the sale of a shopping center.

All of Cohen's statements are substantiated by documentation, which in a sane world would necessarily cancel any psychological doubts a juror might have. Additionally, the evidence converges to point to intent and guilt from multiple angles which makes doubt based on a single feeling towards one of the witnesses invalid and not "reasonable".

They have no defense. Trump signed the checks. Their only hope is to convince the jury that Cohen dreamed up the whole thing all on his own and that all of the other witnesses were lying as well as Cohen and that none of the checks or e-mails or texts or tape recordings were real, but things the jury only imagined they saw.
