The Still Life - Stop Motion

- I had the most random idea pop into my head one night about this little movie. And after just one night of shooting the live action as well as animation I made this short film. It's about an Artist's little posable mannequin doll that comes to life and wants to have a face like he sees in the drawing.
I'm watching this 10 years later but its heart warming as it might be as when first posted. 😊

All around great short film! Had all the elements: stop motion, real video, human and inaimate life, nice photography, lighting was good, different shooting angles, comedy, alittle drama, and made me laugh. You should make more!!!

i had it in my head for a book or graphical novel about a manikin that comes to life then goes insane from lack of an identity this reminded me of that idea, its been years since i've thought about it...
I just loved this, feel sorry for that poor wooden man.

That was amazing and the song choice was great, by the end I felt so sorry for it even though it's not real and that is what I call an amazing artist, you have really put some thought into this video and I commend you for that, keep up the good work 10/10

Very poetic and minimal. Great sense of cinematography, fantastic direction. It's a pity that whe director had a no-professional camera. The same work, shot on Canon 5d M3, Sony A7 or Blackmagic, had been a "oscar prize" short !

awesome story and sad, a manican wanted to have a face but no...... Should be made into a full movie of him going on a adventure for a face.... like a normal movie but like no talking in here like he sees a drawing of a wizard and he goes on a adventure to the wizard for a real, permanent face.

So amazing how people think! I just uploaded a video with a mannequin in it and I thought to myself how cool it would be to make my first stop motion with a posable mannequin...so I searched and I found this...it's awesome.
