I was at Costco and listened to the Hexclad guy. I have 30-year-old All-Clad and wasn't interested in the Hexclad, but I was interested in the induction stovetop he was using. He said he has used the Duxtop induction stovetop for years, and most of the sales force also used it. So I ordered the Duxtop from Amazon, and I've been using it for 2 years and love it!
@@TheOsfania Sorry, I don't quite remember what this thread was about. The joke is that Hexclad will become garbage so you should buy it from Costco to get a real warrenty
The funny thing is, Hexclad requires similar cooking techniques as you would in a cast/carbon pan due to the protruding steel hex. Once people realize this i dont see a reason to not consider cast iron or carbon steel pans
If one is shopping for cookware at Costco, a better value would be to purchase a tri-ply stainless steel cookware set and a couple of non-stick frying pans. Not only would this cost you less than a Hexclad set, it would last longer and you could replace the non-stick frying pans multiple times before exceeding the price of the Hexclad set. Even if one upgrades to better performing stainless steel cookware or branches out to other materials (i.e., carbon steel or cast iron), that initial stainless steel set remains perfectly useful for less critical tasks.
Jed, my friend..thanks for another great video! I try to buy as much of everything I can, from Costco, I do not believe in ANY coated coated surface, other then the oil seasoning on cast iron, for example, LARGELY, because of you and the info you have put out here for anyone who is interested. GOOD ON YOU for helping so many, you are a valuable, trusted source and resource, CHEERS
This video is too late. I will not buy any more. I don’t have membership to Costco, nor do I know where to find one. Oh, well, I’ll just throw it away when it breaks down like I do the others.
I’ve been cooking most of my 70 plus years and I disagree with your premise. No pan with the exception of carbon steel and cast iron will wear out. I use hexclad and am very happy with how they perform. They are well made , heat up fast and hold their heat evenly. No complaints from me as a user.
We bought these pans at costco for the return policy. We use nonstick simply for eggs and hardest sticking items. Otherwise we have stainless, carbon steel, cast iron for everything else.
♦️You're absolutely right about everything you mentioned. In fact, I'm experiencing issues with all the pans and pots I bought from HexClad at Costco. I'm extremely disappointed with how they misrepresented their brand and guarantee that their cookware would never get scratched or have the coating peel off. I just found out from you that HexClad is a Chinese brand, which explains the poor quality and the hidden PTFE chemical in their coating that is peeling off and potentially being ingested during cooking. I was considering reaching out to their customer support, but after reading many reviews about their terrible customer service and lack of response to claims, I've decided to return all my pots and pans to Costco. I also plan to inform Costco about the true nature of the company they are promoting, which does not stand behind their product quality and warranty as advertised.♦️
Haha very much enjoyed your passive-aggressive humour, Jed 🤣🤣 I love my Solidteknics Noni & Aus-ion pans - they'll outlast me for sure. No more non-stick pans for me! Brilliant video as always, keep up the great work!
My Strata pans are supposed to be coming in tomorrow. I got a Demeyere Proline 12.6" a couple weeks ago and it's been great for acidic / tomato-y stuff, and held 8 pork chops one time. Got a 12" Stargazer I really need to strip and re-season (may try that lye bath thing as stripping with Barkeeper's Friend murdered my wrist), and 11.5" / 9.5" De Buyer Mineral B Pro. So I think I'm pretty set on pans. I do most of my cooking outside with a charcoal / wood fire anyway.
Recently I have found that the JA Henckels Tri-Ply Ceraforce pans have been really good. They seem to be a bit better construction vs GreenPan and are supposed to have a "safe" ceramic non-stick coating.
I would love a video comparing Demeyere Proline pans with Multiline and show how quickly they heat up (on induction), the heat retention and maybe compare the weight to other pans as well.
Excellent point about Costco! I just ran across this "limited lifetime warranty" gimmick with my car's alternator from a major retail chain where normal wear and tear is not covered only defects. What average consumer would be able to dispute the difference?
Good video!! I read up on it, in quickly came to the same conclusion. Gimmicky Junk! Carbon Steel, Cast Iron, Enameled Cast Iron or Stainless Steel is all that's needed. If someone knows how to cook, Non Stick isn't needed at all.
Every time I see them showing hexclad at Costco, I want to critique the product in front of the Rep and the customers. I’m worried that there would be complaints and Costco would cancel my membership
Social media "influencers" are a thousand times worse than the old "As Seen on TV" ads. Just as I won't click on anything with "viral" in the title, I refuse to pay money for anything seen on social media. That goes doubly for anything using Gordon Ramsay as a spokesman.
Jed, I’m tired of these hex-clad videos …because I want you to move onto reviewing the OurPlace Always Pan Pro the hexagonal titanium blah blah surface. 😅
If I wanted a Hexclad type cookware, I would buy one of the other brands that are exactly the same, such as that made by Paderno or Meyer. Same tech, cheaper, and more reputable company. On the other hand....NO
If you watch the video it's like 6 minutes of him telling you why you shouldn't buy it or any other non-stick cookware and 30 seconds of why if you do it should be from Costco because of their return policy. Seems unlikely that Hexclad bullied him into this lmao
🆘 After i read all the reviews and this lawsuit I exeperience the same, I went yesterday to Costco and retuned my 2 set of pots and pans that was peeling off the CHEMICAL coating them with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a type of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS). 📌 I highly recommend to all customers that have bought this HEXCLAD to do your homework and to made your best and healthier decisions.
♦️🔥The plaintiffs argue HexClad acknowledges that it coats its cookware products with PTFE, while marketing the compound as “safe and inert” and falsely claiming they are free of PFAS. “It is therefore misleading for HexClad to represent to consumers that its cookware is free from PFOAs and all PFAS,” the HexClad class action states. The plaintiffs want to represent a nationwide class of consumers who have ever purchased a HexClad cookware product.
I had a laugh on my face almost trough the whole video. Thank you for making my day! I love passive aggressive statements when they are 100% honest!

Their site lists the coating as PTFE and PFAS FREE. Instead, they claim, their TerraBond non-stick coating is ceramic.
Did they change the coating?
What do you suggest for cookware with an electric stove? Ty

Hex clad is garbage. In fact, all nonstick “coatings” are bad. Stainless, cast iron, carbon steel. Those are the ONLY metals one should cook food on.
I use Revere Ware and cast iron. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi Jeb, I am so impressed you .are this video, you provide such great information to help us all make good cookware choices. Hugs from Port!and OR.
Fix the title, should be "Why you shouldn't buy hexclade cookware from Costco, or anywhere else." You are welcome!
I considered it!

My question is, "What chemicals do you use to season cast iron/carbon steel cookware"?

I wonder how long does it take for more countries to ban PFAS for commercial products. Hopefully it will progress faster.

Warrantied for the Lifetime of the pan. Once the pan doesn't work, it's lifetime is over, and so is the warranty.

Waiting for Strata to be available in Canada, and for my wife to let me get yet another pan!
Hexclad is junk. Tramontina is at Costco too and way better.
Hexclad markets that they have the best of both worlds, but in reality, it has the downside of both nonstick and stainless steel.

Costco makes Hexclad honor warranty
I would not take them for FREE.
So how many people have died as a result of using PTFE coated cookware? Typical US attitude to a product which MAY cause problems.
I hear they are now manufacturing them starting 2024 truly ptfe free but haven’t been able to find anything about it in writing yet.
“Free of defects.” Ha, what a joke.
its junk, check out the long term reviews
