@@GeekStreet I'm buying the newer version, the Edifier R1280Ts, with a subwoofer out port on the back. This completes the whole home audio system with these two Edifier speakers and a powered subwoofer. All powered, so it can play everything from a PC, smartphone, and HDTV...
My daughter bought me a pair of these as a Christmas gift about 3 years ago. I have them placed on a cabinet which is located outside under the pergola. I mainly use them to play music trough google Chromecast. They sound great and had no issues so far. Highly recommended.👍
Thank you for this. After sifting through countless number of RUclips videos titled "Setup", this is the only one that actually shows us how to connect and set it up with a PC. Much appreciated.
@skylar payne Yes I did! When I first got them the bass sounded really bad but I contacted them and they sent me a new pair. The new pair sounds amazing. They are probably the best speakers you can get for the price.
Someone left these at these garbage after moving (outside of the garbage of course, intending for someone to take them). Picked them up while walking the dog...tested them in my PC, work great. I don't have much use for them unfortunately since I always have high quality headphones on. I like the idea of maybe getting bluetooth connectivity for it.
There is a Bluetooth version! I have daily driven these speakers for over a year and can say they are great bookshelf/desktop speakers and sound great. But if you need Bluetooth connectivity the company offers basically identical speakers with the ability to connect via Bluetooth.
Ok review. Like a majority of people purchasing speakers (an assumption here), the sound quality is what matters most! A few constructive tips. Speaker wire; Copper is always ground, or negative due to the nature of current flow. Phono connectors?? Actually, they are called "RCA" connectors. Hard wire versus blue tooth; Blue tooth cannot handle/transmit "Lossless" audio where hard wire can. merely friendly advice from one "Geek" to another.. cheers
i hope someone is reading this who is on the fence. if you put these close to your head (ie on a desk) you WILL hear the hissing from the internal amp NO MATTER WHAT
since this is the vid that i watched and made me be like "i need this", imma say I LOVE the speakers' sound and the look of them, BUT they're $119.99 on amazon now and not $100

Otherwise, i'm thinking these on a 55 inch tcl tv would be sweet do you agree or do you think the little logitech with the sub would be a better choice, sorry I don't have the number for that one it's two speakers and a sub is all i can say right now wired on caffein and trying to think of a good cheap way to get some better than tv sound in my bedroom on the tcl 55, good video thx again. jeremy s goldberg
correct me if i am wrong , a pc need a digital speaker with digital input , using analog the sound wont be good ? there a reason why there are pc speakers
For the RCA connections, suppose I have a composite switch and a component switch for older consoles. Could I direct the audio output channels to both the PC and the "input", one from each switch? Thanks!
If you want Bluetooth, don't spend the extra money on the version that has it. Instead, get yourself a Chromecast and a HDMI audio extractor. Use that to feed the audio into the speakers. Compared to the Bluetooth version you get: - Spotify / Tidal connect (you use the app on your phone to play music on Chromecast, like a remote) - Cast from RUclips - Better sound, as the music plays directly from the Chromecast, instead of going over Bluetooth) - More flexibility, like having the option to hook up a small monitor and turn it into a smart media center. The price difference is next to nothing.
If you have two things plugged into the pc line in and the aux, how do you select between the 2? say you have your pc on, and your tv in the aux, you'll hear them both at the same time, which obviously isn't a good thing.

Yeah after my aiwa left speaker started losing fidelity and I noticed my system is now 3 speaks max power and 1 mid range strength; I realized I need to replace my setup from 1998 It was a really good run speaker friends. Thanks for this review you sold me. I would like a 4.0 setup though if you have a specific speaker set in mind. I prefer copper cable speaker gauge too if you have a recommendation. I currently run 2.1 in 4.0 style setup so basically 2 aiwa speaks on left and 2 on right.
I listened to your sound demonstration of these speakers (via Beyerdynamics 990 Pro and IFI Zen Dac via laptop) and it was quite terrible. Am I missing something, guitars, drums and bass sounded very compressed with a lot of bloom....? What was your source for the music?

My vintage EPI 100s I picked up for chump change at a yard sale sound incredible. I'll wager I'd be disappointed with any pair of modern blue tooth speaker selling for $100.
