WOW, I wasn't expecting to learn anything new seeing as I researched this car like CRAZY, but those bump stops making that noise was something I never figured out. Thanks!
Thanks bro! My dad passed away and left me his whipple supercharged C5 Convertible being the amazing Dad he is. Well I can't find the wheel lock. Well now because of you I know what to do! Thank you so much Vette bro! God bless...
Thanks for another great video👍 Just when I think I've learned, almost EVERYTHING about my C5(over the past 14 years) you find more 😂🤣 So excited to see if mine has a signature 😁 Save the 👋😎
Nice Video. Got a C5 since 5 years, but even do i learned some new Things in your Video. I got a Coupe and know that my Antenna is in the Windshield. I was always thinking that this is Standard and every Corvette have this. The flashing Foglights is really new to me, and i have to check this out right tomorrow. And the Sign from the Car Builders is veeeeeery cool 👌 would be very cool to meet that Person who actually build your Car. Greetings from Germany ✌
Go back and check your owners manual. I was frustrated at not being able to flash my lights at slower cars in the fast lane. If you read the manual (at least on my 04') it says if you pull the turn signal towards you and HOLD IT, like when you hit the high beams, it will pop the lights up and turn the high beams on until you let go of it and the go off and back down. YOu just have to pull it and hold it for a second, its not instantaneous. Once you have them up, you can even flash them on and off quickly without them going back down right away.
Ngl, owned my C5 for 3 years now since I was 20, gas hand never worked anyways, I use the trip meter 😂 also my oil pressure sensor is gone, common problem, done feel like fixing that either, chevy gages man 🙌😂
"ET"cetera "ET"cetera Thanks for all the tips. My red 2001 Z06 finally arrives late on Monday. I shipped through SHERPA and the car is coming 4 days late!
I’ve experienced the reserve fuel issue after a track day when being low on gas but not actually ‘reserve fuel low’. Something to do with the lateral G’s forcing fuel into one tank or the other. Car thinks it’s lower on gas than it really is. Takes some time or a fill up for the tanks to equalize.
2 tanks?? I never knew that. I'll look inside the wheel well for a signature. Never knew that either. And the exterior temp and speed relation................never knew that either. I thought I knew everything about my C5Z until today. Great vid!!! but you knew that!!!
Thank you for another great video. Obviously, when you get time, can you help shed some insight on the fuel tank crossover pipe. Preferably the install process, removal is easy in comparison.
Dude trust me it kills me. I'm wrapping up a 2 year backyard project finally & the next thing in queue is the garage Reno with a lift for the C5. Should be starting it by May 1st. Thanks for watching btw. 👍🤙
I have a block heater on my C5!! Also only in Canada, the headlights will ALWAYS pop up automatically if it senses any kind of darkness. It's annoying.
Thanks so very much for all your information U share! 👌 And for your service in the military 👍 You are a very good communicator, thanks! P.S. ~ I'm considering a Corvette sometime in my future. Which would you recommend C4, C5, C6, C7 or C8 !? 🤔
C4 is classic, fun, and cheap. The best looking car and has the most history. C5 is a rough around the edges race car that is built for performance. C6 is a little better but same thing. And c7 is electrical and modern
Thank you for the updates and so forth. I really love the one about the outside temperature. Definitely did not know that. Do you happen to know where that actual sensor is on the outside of the car if it needs to be replaced?
It's directly beneath the right hood hinge. Almost straight down from the hood light. You can see it with the hood open from the bumper side. Look for a wire, follow it down, It's mounted on the edge of the radiator shroud.
I snapped off the drivers side front vehicle ground post. How do I get to it in order to replace it, or can I just drill and tap a new hole beside it or drill that out and put a bigger post in.
I am the only driver and I’m 6 foot tall old and slightly fat: to make it easier to enter the car. I set number two to slide the seat all the way back allowing for easier entry. Once seated I hit number one and I’m really ride.
I have question for anyone that could help. I recently purchased a 2004 C5. I want to replace the stock taillights with LEDs. Unfortunately I’ve run into a problem where at least one screw on each light won’t come out. It just spins and doesn’t move otherwise. Any suggestions? I’m not sure what the best way to get them out is because I’m worried about damaging the rear end.
The factory Fuel cut is 6550 actually so it will let you rev to 6500 but cuts fuel a bit over so it may be the people saying that without looking at the fuel tables
I have an '02Z and I just looked at my console lid cover and there is no sticker. I checked the lug nuts and they are regular lug nuts, no key required. Are the Z06's different from base and vert?
You were talking about your gas gauge. Maybe you can help me with my problem. Just recently when I fill my fuel tank with gas the gauge will register empty but after about three days the fuel gauge will be working correcetly. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I've been told that GM has a cleaner to use for cleaning the fuel gauge inside the fuel tank because sulfur from the gas collects on the gauge and causesvit to malfunction. I purchased some of the cleaner and seems to improve the functioning of the gauge but not completely. The last time I put the cleaner in and then put gas in the dash fuel gauge still registered empty. But after I made a few turns ( I don't remember if they were right turns or left turns) the dash fuel gauge was working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Iam im the market for a z06 iam in ohio and the ones i see are going 30-35k that are not rebuild titles, loan companies say its worth 16500? Am i missing something or u got to pay cash for these?
Hey man, just bought a c5z. The DIC buttons don’t work. I looked all over RUclips and couldn’t find any videos on how to replace it but eventually I figured it out. The problem is, after replacing it they worked before i put everything back together but then once i did put the dash, center consul and everything else back, i went to start it and they stopped working. Was wondering if you have anything that could help me.
That is very interesting. The fact the new buttons worked before putting the dash back together points toward a wire continuity issue.. I feel something is being pulled or stressed at a junction point.
My 2002 C5 passenger side window and door lock not working. It seems like there is no electrical power to that door. How to fix this? (Before this total quit that window worked intermittently). Also if I did not drive the car for more than a week the battery dies. It is a new battery from the Chevrolet dealership that cost over $200. Thanks
Plastics and rubber seals are made with plasticizers to keep them pliable. Silicone products actually pulls the plasticizer out of your vinyls and rubber seals. do a quick research and you will see . GM loves to sell their car care products but for the most part they can do more harm than good!
I’m looking at a 2001 C5 convertible, 56 thousand miles. White with tan top and interior, very clean especially the paint, never wrecked. Wondering about a reasonable price to pay and anything I might want to look out for. It would be my first corvette purchase.

A few new things I didn't know. Thanks
Always wondered what would happen if I flashed my brights during the day but never did it for some reason lol what an intriguing car.

Use a rubber conditioner instead of silicone on door seals, silicone will dry them out eventually
You solved 3 of my problems. Thank you

45mph for 1min. Is the only way to cool down hot under hood sensor for accurate readings.

Good question. I know all trims have the cut-out for the lug key in the trunk. As far as the sticker I need to do some research.

Put in a bottle of Techron, should free it up after a tankful

I messed with the buttons more and if I put pressure on the bottom right I can get the lights to come up but the buttons still don’t work.
Just so you know Amcor now charges $30.00 for a lock plus $10.00 S&H for a replacement lock.
Good info!
can confirm stock C5 base will do 200+
Where did you get your bullet antenna
Just search "stubby antenna" and it will come up.
