I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 210,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.
"Hater"? Man, you really aren't very bright. You have the maturity level of a five year-old. Maybe you should learn how to do some actual research instead of acting like an immature child whenever anyone notes a transmission problem that Nissan themselves admitted to: trofire.com/2019/12/02/nissan-announces-major-settlement-after-transmission-problems-discovered/
The fluid flushes and changes will help, they are reliable, but they wont be as good as a honda or toyota cvt, and thats the whole reputation thing, even tho they compete and compete well. Follow the manual, and you shud b a ok.
One of the key things to know before buying a 2021 or newer Nissan Rogue is not to buy the “SV trim model” because the 2021 or newer SV Rogue model no longer has “the foot activated liftgate” like that of the 2018-2020 Rogue SV where it had the “foot-activated liftgate”.

@@Briguy1027 Hey .. there are lots of things that has changed in 2021 Rogue mainly the drive quality. It has all new suspension, new steering which is more responsive, less weight gives more boost in speed pickup since it also has 11 bhp more, more aerodynamic body (real air vents in front) .. more fuel efficient, less height makes the car not to roll when turning (cud feel that a lot in 2017 model). Driving quality has improved so much that u don't feel like u r driving an old rogue .. its completely different. Cargo space is broader on top allowing u to load heightened luggage like having ur suitcases standing instead of lying down. Great honest review... but Nissan did not copy Hyundai... Nissan kicked off the trend of the split headlights with the Juke and Hyundai has been using that design element since on their SUVs. While I can see a similarity in the execution between the Rogue and Santa Fe, the Rogue still looks like a Rogue and an evolution of the last gen. BUT... The actual real O.G. @@Cat-es9rq Personally, I don’t like it. We got the SV AWD after trading in our Murano and I traded in my Ram to save us money from owning two vehicles. Far better driving experience even with 99k miles. This is just my opinion of course. I enjoy driving so I’m very critical of vehicles. I highly recommend leasing the Rogue if you end up liking it, but if you’re going to commit to it I also highly recommended getting extra coverage on that garbage CVT they insist on using. They have a pretty high premature failure rate. Plenty of lawsuits filed against Nissan over it.
I am test driving one right now. It is much better than expected. 2021 sv. Rides and handles terrific. Would you believe I got 35mpg on my way to work. 42 miles mostly highway. The cvt transmission feels great. 0-60 is a little weak. But it shifts and pulls like it should when driven at mederate speeds.
We have a 2021 nissan rogue sv does jt have where the trunk lifts on own. Dont see it. Also the gas fuel door dont lock? So anyone can clog the gas tank and car will be done
Great review Kevin! Hopefully these new CVT transmission will be better than the past. I personally have had issues with Nissan’s CVT made by Jatco. I’m still hesitant to buy any brand that uses a CVT at this time. The Rogue looks great.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences my friend. Yea I definitely agree with you, I was told they made great strides in improving the CVT which is good
@@MeynMotorGroup I agree I believe they have made strides. The bad bad part even if Nissan cvt is very reliable and durable 10 years from now people will still say their transmissions are junk. This is what Honda is experiencing right now. V6 Honda and Acura transmissions has been reliable and durable since around 2005, but in 2020 people will say Honda v6 power vehicle transmission will go out. Nissan is going to experience this as well.
@@MeynMotorGroup I agree. I used to care solely on reliability, I still do to a lesser degree, I believe every car manufacturer brings something to the table. I'm planning on getting an Audi or BMW one day regardless of what is said, eventhough there is some truth to it.
@@ajevthetruthisthetruthnotc8390 You got the right mindset my friend. Every car manufacturer does bring something to the table. Def get your Audi or BMW and please enjoy it, people typically mock what they cannot have so don't pay attention to everything, there is great satisfaction to owning those cars as long as you own them right. Buy them either CPO or lease them new and you will love it. Problem is people aimlessly buy some $10,000 Audi with 150k miles then proceed to complain it is unreliable after buying a total P.O.S. So yes there is truth to it but not if you buy it the right way
Just left Nissan a nice little complaint over blocking out CarPlay when it comes to driving. Funny how they block CarPlay on the Rogue SV due to “distracted driving” but they still allow you to change SiriusXM on the screen while driving. Must be that future thinking they are up to these days.
I just got a 2021 Nissan Rogue. It's Great. I like it. It's fast, slick, quite. I did have a problem with it 1 day, I got locked out of the car while it was running and key fob was inside.. Not sure why the dealer is telling you you have to pay anything for a vehicle under warranty. Refuse it and if there’s another Nissan dealer near you, try them. Dealer experience varies even with the same manufacturer. Some dealers are just trash and sounds like they’re trying to get over on you.

Coming from a 2018 rouge that I hated my wife wanted this 1. Skeptical I had her try the rav4 1st and well.... We hated it. I was disappointed. I my self also have a 04 highlander limited and that's a very nice car. Rav4 felt cheap and plastic. Yeah I hate cvts but this felt like a whole different car. Also I saw the rav had a lot of problems and recalls in 2020. This is probably the best small suv. And yes the seats are freaking amazing. I have a lot of back pain due to a car crash many years ago and I have little to no back pain with these seats. Also I may wanna get them to look at buttons. Mine work just fine
I was going to wait but the platinum is loosing the Bose system and something else I can’t remember lol so I’m getting the 2021 white with black trim roof 😊
Rav, Crv and forester definitely felt smaller/tighter in the front cab. You feel like you have a ton of room in the Nissan. The Santa Fe felt just as roomy as the Nissan.
If they were gonna replace a 2.5 engine with a 1.5t for 2022, they should've let the old Rogue go on for one more year and introduce the new one for 2022.
I actually bought the 2021 SV AWD and I love it I have thought about this idk if it would be a hit but they should make an SR version with the turbo just my thoughts 😂
Apple Carplay Music and Map is disabled when the 2021 Rogue is moving. Start driving and try to select a song from the Music app. Nope Songs, Artist, Albums, Playlist all disabled! Ok let's go to the Apple Map app and select a address destination. Nope can't do that either! Just spent the day on the phone with Apple and Nissan. Nissan disabled these Apple Play features when you are driving to keep you and your passenger safe. It doesn't appear there is any setting to enable these features.
@@kickwagon I ended up getting a 2021 Mazda CX-5 carbon edition and I’m very happy with the purchase.
Thanks for the review! I'm looking at a used one with low miles. Hope the seller accepts my offer!
You might be better off just getting a brand new 2023 Rogue at 11% off msrp my friend.
Check out AutoCompanion on the Leasehackr forum.
Yea it's a never ending cycle this is why I never talk about reliability and just tell people to get a warranty
So yes there is truth to it but not if you buy it the right way
Finally good review
Just left Nissan a nice little complaint over blocking out CarPlay when it comes to driving. Funny how they block CarPlay on the Rogue SV due to “distracted driving” but they still allow you to change SiriusXM on the screen while driving. Must be that future thinking they are up to these days.
GOOD REVIEW & GREAT CAR.
Does the 2021 Rogue SV has traffic sign recognition? Or it’s available in the platinum only ?
Can you review the Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 which is essentially based on this vehicle?
I just got a 2021 Nissan Rogue. It's Great. I like it. It's fast, slick, quite. I did have a problem with it 1 day, I got locked out of the car while it was running and key fob was inside..
No understanding why ! Just a fluck I guess. Keys fob was on the floor with my purse .. I really don't use the screen panel except for the phone or radio.
Nice smooth ride.
I love my rouge and my buttons work
Please consider doing interior @ exterior walk around in your reviews??
great review ,thanks
Which rolls the least around mountain roads, Rogue, Santa Fe, or Passport?
Corvette 😆
Nice review, Good thing about entire video is , no vehicle is perfect, he puts that in a very constructive way.
Thank you so much my friend glad you appreciated the objective approach
Great review 👍🏼
Thank you my friend!
Why did Nissan max out only 2 remote start on the SUV? Shouldn't that be up to the car owner? I don't get it.
Thank you Kevin.
Whats the difference between sv and sl?
We just leased one and the seats you are right you kind of float in it .
The touch buttons work fine. You probably don’t have it all set up. It’s very responsive. 🤷🏼♀️
I can see these rogues in the future as rental cars in airports
Probably another 6 million will be on people's driveways
I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue sv which is my first Nissan ever before that had a 2015 Rav 4 no problems with it at all with the rogue a clamp broke and when I start it vibrates with the pipe the pipe is fine and I contacted Nissan service and they have to diagnose it and see how it broke and of course they say you may have to pay 140 for labor and diagnose it a lease car I have warranty I should not have to pay anything not even a small chance the car only has 5,817 miles on it and my lease is up in august 2021 I don’t abuse my cars lease financed or owned and they shouldn’t be like that I don’t want to hear I may not be covered and have to pay so that being said is leaving a bad taste in my mouth towards Nissan not sure I want to get a 2021 rogue my mechanic said Hyundai is better my question is between the rogue the Rav 4 the Tucson and Santa Fe which one is the best I think I’m starting to like the Santa Fe better what is more reliable and best in technology wise and money wise between those models
Not sure why the dealer is telling you you have to pay anything for a vehicle under warranty. Refuse it and if there’s another Nissan dealer near you, try them. Dealer experience varies even with the same manufacturer. Some dealers are just trash and sounds like they’re trying to get over on you.
@@bigd7386 the only one I know on my island is the Nissan who told me that to be honest I think there all the same hate to say that but it’s the truth it’s under warranty it’s only has 5,879 miles on it I don’t abuse the car or any of my vehicles that’s not who I am I didn’t cause the thing to break it happened and they have to see and diagnose it on why it broke that why they said I may have to pay they have to diagnose it and see what caused it there very slick and if I don’t have to pay that fee then maybe the labor fee of 140 also which is a joke I shouldn’t have to pay $ 0000 after that Nissan left a bad taste in my mouth I like the new rogue but don’t like what that dealership said to me and I don’t want to travel to another state I didn’t cause the problem
That sounds a little fishy.. I’d contact Nissan directly maybe? As far as vehicles you mentioned.,by far the rogue is more car for your money
This dont have the heated steering wheel?
Great review, man. I own this model and I only miss the heated steering wheel. Great vehicle nevertheless.
and if people wait till 2022 models, a new turbo engine will be coming and will be in the ~200hp range.
I was going to wait but the platinum is loosing the Bose system and something else I can’t remember lol so I’m
getting the 2021 white with black trim roof 😊
Rav, Crv and forester definitely felt smaller/tighter in the front cab. You feel like you have a ton of room in the Nissan. The Santa Fe felt just as roomy as the Nissan.
Good review but I would really like to know how intrusive all that safety stuff is.
Turn all of it off
Really looking at get a 2021 Rogue. Anyone have an opinion on color choice?
All colors look good with the black top in my opinion. Unfortunately that adds $350 to the price :/
@@funwithguns89 I like the blue
Blue and boulder gray are my favorite!
I’m getting the pearl white and black trim roof..
It's a personal choice. I chose pearl white.
Honest review 👍. Regards.
If they were gonna replace a 2.5 engine with a 1.5t for 2022, they should've let the old Rogue go on for one more year and introduce the new one for 2022.
Nissan GT-R Premium Review please 🙏
I actually bought the 2021 SV AWD and I love it I have thought about this idk if it would be a hit but they should make an SR version with the turbo just my thoughts 😂
May i ask how much is it in total ? I am very interested in it

I should have bought a Volvo which has Apple Play and everything works - tried it with my same iphone that I used in the Rogue. Thanks Nissan for disabling features I'm paying for.
I have full access to all Apple Carplay features while the car is moving on my 2021 Rogue. Maybe there's a setting or something you've missed.
@@mrgrantsr Just heard back from the Nissan expert that nope that's how it works(or doesn't work).
How are you connected to Apple Carplay- USB or wifi? Do you have Bluetooth enabled? What version of software do you have?
My Apple car play works while driving. Haven’t had an issue with that.
If there is a feature or setting I can’t find it so far. The rogue sport I had didn’t do this. The only way I got around is holding down the talk button and telling Siri what to play

It's a Rouge, to me it seems to be the compact SUV for the Nissanheads. Body style does resemble a Kia or Hyundai with the smooth edges on it.
Yea this thing sells in a literal truck loads crazy and yea idk why it looks like a Hyundai but not bad I suppose
@@MeynMotorGroup Nissan related but kinda off topic from the Nissan Rogue, Nissan does not have the Maxima in the Nismo lineup. Honestly i see it as a slap in the face of the grandfather of Nissan USA cars history, like im not a Nissan person but seeing that is kinda like a surprise. They got the Sentra in the Nismo lineup along with the usual suspects 370Z and GT-R but no Maxima. Just saying
Yea Maxima is due for a redesign not sure what nissans plan is
People “drive that much” when they commute to work. 🙄 25k a year = 100 k over 4 years. Gotta work. 😳
Doesn’t look at all like the new Santa Fe. I just drove both.
Not sure about the front but the rest of it isn’t bad actually
Yea I def dont mind the exterior on it
The biggest issue with Nissan in Australia is they don't look after you if things go wrong, they seem to think that their warranty obligations are an optional extra and that Australian consumer law doesn't apply to them, compound that with their shit reliability whether improved now or not means they are a massive avoid and don't buy.
Damn Australia is not getting the service you guys deserve. Things got so much better in the states after the Internet and Google reviews became a thing, do those dealers not care their ratings are going to go down?
@@MeynMotorGroup Most here don't give a shit, and the reason is we're just not big enough of a market for them to give a flying fuck about!
That's unacceptable damn what are some car companies that give a damn about the Australian people?
@@MeynMotorGroup The thing is mate we only have what 30million people here that's one city everywhere else so if they loose us it's just chump change, after all what's 2000 cars a year or whatever the small amount might be! Of the makers who do care here, Hyundai/Kia/Genesis, Mazda, Mitsubishi yeah odd as they're part of the Nissan/Renault group, Toyota, Subaru, Suzuki, BMW, Porsche are the main ones of the top of my head.
Ah that makes sense yea there are 350 million people in the states. But ok that's good that a few good companies exist that care about the customers of Australia. Many had bad experiences with Kia Hyundai Dealers here in the states as well as Nissan dealers. These 3 are starting to get it together slowly but surely
Santa Fe in the front previous RAV4 in the rear
Nissan Rogue in the front, Nissan Rogue in the rear.
I'll wait till customers put 30-40k miles on this thing. Love the looks, but Jatco has had a reputation of making unreliable CVTs.

Great Video. Great SUV for the money is your not looking to go all out on some crazy money on something but want something NEW. I made a video on this vehicle too !!
We call Honda's wind turbines. So fucking loud it's unbearable
Like your review but you look like you can barely look over the steering wheel
Just put the seat all the way down and the recline up then you can look like you can’t see over the wheel either like magic 🪄
It’s a piece of shit if it still has that CVT.
The front grills are insanely unappealing imo. I think Hyundai obliterates Nissan in design language styling alone.
One of the ugliest suv's of the year...
Lol
