I get wisdom here. I need it. My life is so far removed from your stories, I wouldn't last 5 seconds we're your from. I realise, if ain't no use griping about what people get away with, it's more important to be "straight up and down" yourself. God Bless you both.
I've had to deal with people who have that disrespect paranoia after being in prison so long. So, I completely understand what he meant while bringing that up.
I just wanted to say that I'm very impressed with your interview and of Wes's responses to your questions. I know he was not concocting any type of an answer he was simply relating the facts of how it works in prison and in doing that he brought me to a realization that prison has actually evolved into exactly the type of system that prisoners need... in order to go to the next level of understanding. The enforcement of rules by the inmates themselves is so harsh and so direct that these men have to learn to become disciplined they have to learn to hold their tongue.. they have to learn to use their minds to analyze a situation and arrive at a logical answer and the discipline to deal with their own emotions in a non destructive manner. Wes has obviously profited well from his trials while in prison.... It is evident to me that it is just the beginning of his Ascension in becoming a better human being. Most of us have much we can learn from his own experience and I'm glad that he has chosen to share those experiences with us and that he is able to articulate the facts in a direct and detailed manner. And also a big thank you to Herc for knowing how to conduct an interview in an effective and interesting manner. You ask the right questions and you give your guests ample time to elaborate on their answers. Thanks
Watching holidays out of a window is the all time shittiest deal ever. You can feel every moment your missing with friends and loved ones with such crystal clear clarity....
The prison system in America is so flawed. It's supposed to be a correctional facility were people who step outside the law are rehabilitated into society, while in reality it's a punishment system were a lot of people come out worse.
You require people to want change. You also need people who don't to stop other people from evolving. These things are heavy in Jail, and will never cease to exist anywhere in life.
It’s actually a punishment system because you are being punished for your crime so I don’t exactly feel bad. Make good choices and follow the law. That’s what these guys are trying to teach. If it was easier there would be even more violence these guys in jail are dog eat dog.
I did my time in the 80's. And its actually like he said. Its a violent world. In the 90's knew a guy who went in on a dui, came to old max. Came in on a 1 to 6, is now doing life without. You have no choice. You will step up and handle her business or you'll get got. Period.
They say it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at something. Clearly, this man is an expert on prison life. +10,000 hours served, I imagine. 10 years in jail is 87.600 hours.
For those of you asking "who is they" go read a book or two... there are supported evidences and research done that when a person has achieved 10,000+ hours on a subject (school, work, leisure, etc) they supersede their natural capabilities. I'd say go read, 'Outliers' by Malcolm Gladwell as a fundamental bases on this topic.
@@Vic-rf6hs thats correct, thats why in sports they are starting to teach kids that if you want to excel at a sport and youre not a natural at practise for 10k hours and if youre naturally gifted at something then implement the 10k you will be unstoppable. and its been proven to work with most anything ie: careers, working out etc
Unfortunately alot of people who are "intense" misunderstand that reacting like a 6 year old yelling, fighting, ring slighted, taking resentment. That is the easy behavior it is literally how children react when things don't go there way. The hard thing to do is let it go, walk away, turn the cheek wish them the best. Living the street life is the EASY way out.
I wouldn't say that. Most people turn the cheek out of fear. But sometimes, heck most times, if its some petty nonsense its the better way to deal with things.
i appreciate how Herc realises how crazy this cat he's talking to sometimes sounds to us the audience and tempers some of his comments with an explanation

I discovered Wes through this channel, and I gotta say, these interviews are the best so far. His solo youtube shit is good and I've watched all his vids twice, but I gotta admit, hearing him talk to someone else is even more interesting. Not even the long interview with Simon Rex was as good as these episodes of Prison Talk
Look Wes you are entirely wrong on a couple key points. The biggest point is NLR has been out the hat for a few years now. Also they got rid of "indeterminate SHU sentences. Indeterminate SHU sentences were eradicated thru inmates bringing pelican bay type living conditions to the press. Hunger strikes were in full effect for quite some time. Only canteen was allowed to be consumed. From there protests started, mainly outside prisons with major SHU populations. The inmates developed a peace treaty in 2012 I believe. Basically the "big homies" initiated a "peace treaty". This treaty included Northern Hispanics and southern Hispanics no longer being "on site" with each other. Whites of course abided by that as well. However Southsiders/Whites,.Northerns/Blacks and others still didnt "program". Seperation on the yard was still very much in effect. Whites were not playing basketball with blacks... The treaty I'm sure is still in effect because it was essentially developed to get the "big homies" out the SHU. A kite was written with names on it, intended for the COs to read it and inmates thru out the prison system as well. It basically said we needed to follow normal protocol however violence/riots between races were to be avoided at all possible costs. Legislation against indeterminate SHU program has been in full effect. Now we got this 50/50 yard bullshit. The COs are upset that not only has the treaty prevented violence, but laws have been passed keeping people out of prison entirely. In addition eligible inmates are receiving early kicks (33 percent on level 1) and sentencing enhancements are dropping - causing some inmates to get out years earlier. All of these factors are a threat to the Correctional Officer's job security. In order to ensure that no more job cuts are made to COs they have developed what they call "positive programming yards". Aka 50/50 yards. Integration of PC and GP is a reality on every level 1 yard now. Take off on a PC by yourself or with someone else you go to the hole and pick up more time. Some level 2s are like this as well. Eventually the.entire system well be integrated. A.blatant ploy by the Prison Guard Union to increase violence thus remain gainfully employed with opportunity for promotion and more job opportunity. Supposedly these yards offer programs that help offenders succeed upon parole. Programs that they are alleging should be available to PC and GP. The word: you got 24 hours to get off any 50/50 yard. Even if u got two weeks to the pad if you dont either report from the hole or go back to the GP building you came from you will be put in the hat. So if u get 16 with half and want to stay solid expect to max out that 16 months from the hole. You leave the hole and get put right back onto a 50/50 and are expected to do it again. The CDCR insanity is in full effect and well only.get worst. This is more incentive for me and others to do NOTHING BUT WALK THE TIGHTEST OF LINES TO AVOID GOING UPSTATE. As a striker I got that all day.

Nah dude was living on the streets making money from drugs he was living that life before prison but I get what ur saying if he had a damaged childhood he definitely wouldn’t have reacted to prison the way he did n wpuld probs still be inside now
If you live in a first-world country you don't have it hard. Food is everywhere and it's easy to find shelter. Americans love to complain and pretend life is hard because they are spoiled little babies who have no idea what struggle is really like. WaAaah mUh bRoKeN cHiLdHoOd! wWAhaAhahaaaH
Wes seems like a straight up dude, real recognize real no doubt
I would say what's up to him from a mile away I wouldn't wanna offend him he might go crazy at any time hhaha.
Two REAL men letting the other speak their minds WITHOUT interruption. That alone speaks VOLUMES about the quality of their character.
RIGHT!
Mutual respect right there. They both did time, they both changed their lives when they got out
"REAL" men provide for their children and uphold their society.
@@anagramconfirmed1717so your telling me being a prison shot caller that controls drugs violence a soups doesn't make you a real man but there were in prison there hardcore

These 2 dudes need to have their own podcast show together. They both are real asf

Prison is hell is no way but damn that depiction is soldier status
I'm glad these videos are here! You just don't know how many people they turned against crime.
@@GPPenitentiaryLifeWesWatson wise words man, best mindset to have. I support you guy's movement
"it was hard to adjust to society" this is the key quote here and why there should be a big change on the prison system. Look at Switzerland for an example
I did 4 years of a 10-year max. I look back and I can't believe I made it. I thank GOD for guiding me because every little movement matters in there. I don't think I could do it again. NEVER PC!
As someone who just did an 18 year bit I applaud Wes for schooling everyone how CDCR really runs. Keep the truth coming!💯
Damn 18 years man
@@SalamiStayFly He's lying. The internet is a popular place to make shit up.
Love this guy! He is so well-spoken and down to earth.
Fellas, I give you props for the success you have found on youtube, however...I'm 57-years old, spent YEARS in & out of prison... I was literally brainwashed into the "MIndset" Today, I'm a changed man...If it doesnt have ANYTHING to do with PERSONAL DEVELOPEMENT, I want NOTHING to do with it!
Please try to focus your videos on How to stay outta prison and blend into the mainstream of society. " IF YOU LOOK BACK, YOU'LL GO BACK". Utmost Respects
Well said, don't look back cause it's easy to trip without your eyes on the road ahead, the past is past all that should matter now is now.
That is a slope for some.
This vid focus is on the environment during time served. Compared to films and media especially.
Can you get an asian dude on the show? Race seems to play such a huge role in prison I would like to see it from their perspective.
Not tons of Asians in jail. Might have to hunt for one that's been in and also feels comfortable doing interviews.
Don't quote me on this but from what I understand asians don't have there own car. They are called others which means they don't normally have to get involved in the black white Mexican drama. But to see their views would be cool
Watch a China Mac interview. I'm sure they have considered bringing him on but he busy AF with his own platform. Just seen China mac TV yesterday lol.mm
Or someone from the 'others '
Daniel Hernandez I think they sometimes run with different races
WIGSPLITTER CREW. Man your videos are on fire, keep it up.
The living miracle Wes Watson WW in the flesh. He is still putting it down. Every day without fail!
I love watching these videos with Wes Watson, u can tell he is the real deal and handles himself accordingly. Which I respect immensely. Keep up with the awesome videos.
I get wisdom here.
I need it.
My life is so far removed from your stories, I wouldn't last 5 seconds we're your from.
I realise, if ain't no use griping about what people get away with, it's more important to be "straight up and down" yourself.
God Bless you both.
Just want to say thank you, came across this clip after watching a “Shot Caller” film scene clip. Will gradually watch your other uploads over time.
Wes, youre a solid dude. Hope youve moved on to something bigger and better as life goes on.

That's just called... being healthy
Thanks
Both of you make a great team. Wes is always working. Respect
I'm a simple man, i see wes i press like
Watching holidays out of a window is the all time shittiest deal ever. I was in the Seattle FDC on 23 & 1 lockdown for 4th of July in 2003 and being able to see the fire works in the distance was such a gut punch. Christmas was worse. You can feel every moment your missing with friends and loved ones with such crystal clear clarity....
This dude speaks truth to the fullest ! Much respect from the Insane Empire Wood Pile 951
The prison system in America is so flawed. It's supposed to be a correctional facility were people who step outside the law are rehabilitated into society, while in reality it's a punishment system were a lot of people come out worse.
Welcome to America where prisons are a business and need to be full to make money.
You require people to want change. You also need people who don't to stop other people from evolving. These things are heavy in Jail, and will never cease to exist anywhere in life.
Hamse Anders oh there are prison systems wayyyy more fucked up than America’s.
A good 25% of our population are incapable of "civilization". Its a losing battle. Wherever they go, wherever they live its the same story.
It’s actually a punishment system because you are being punished for your crime so I don’t exactly feel bad. Make good choices and follow the law. That’s what these guys are trying to teach. If it was easier there would be even more violence these guys in jail are dog eat dog.
I need to give my brother the “Prison talk”
Wes Watson is legit this dude you know is for real
#1! Wes has fantastic stories to tell.
I did my time in the 80's. And its actually like he said. Its a violent world. In the 90's knew a guy who went in on a dui, came to old max. Came in on a 1 to 6, is now doing life without.
You have no choice. You will step up and handle her business or you'll get got. Period.
Appreciate the content Big Herc And Wes!!!

saw that too, and again @ 3:50
Yes sir.
They say it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at something. Clearly, this man is an expert on prison life. +10,000 hours served, I imagine. 10 years in jail is 87.600 hours.
What bro 😁😆
Who is they ?
I must be a God at stroking the horse 😊
Wes your time wasn't spent in vein. You are shedding the truth to those who don't need to go down these roads. Thats gangster.
i appreciate how Herc realises how crazy this cat he's talking to sometimes sounds to us the audience and tempers some of his comments with an explanation
The movie Shot Caller was the most realistic person portrayal I've seen.
A co worker who did 13 said the exact same thing
Wes is awesome ! Thank you very much for these Interviews !
Love your videos Herc. I’ve been watching them for at least a couple years now keep up the amazing work!!
You watch 1 prison recommendation and then boom youtube goes here 20 more for you to watch.
You can tell that he is legit. I hope the young ppl that watch this listen and make better choices. Prison life is not fun & you can never get the time back that you lost. this guy is real and very entertaining
This guy speaks the truth. Excellent interview.
Dude siad Christmas came an went..dam thats cold..real talk
For some people, Christmas is just another day.

Man knowing what we know now... this man literally got all his stories from Hollywood
After hearing this, i am NEVER complaining about COVID lockdown again
😂🤣same
Right!
Lacing us up with prison knowledge and experience.. Thanks 🤙🏿
Thank you for putting these videos out. They are great for educating people that think Hollywood movies about prison are factually correct.
Thanks for this info. People need to hear it!
Thanks for the info. Crazy ish
It's gotta be or gonna be rockin' and rollin'
Tell me more about the first 3 paragraphs What does “didn’t program mean”
There is no more PC in Cali . They are mixing them up with gp shit is all fucked up
Thanks for sharing your experiences gentlemen.
It's crazy I felt Oceanside vibes when listening to Wes Watson then he said he grew up there.
He reminds me of one of my buddies.
Respect to these guys coming out and sharing situations. God bless.
3:03 Herc had to clear his throat even though dude wasn't talkin about hittin him particularly
Prolly did that to remind dude to take it easy on the violence so youtube dont fuck with the vid. Idk
I caught something like that
😀
I'm an ex con from the UK and the effects on my mind and intensity have come to learn it's traumatic shit living like that so getting my mind right and clean of heroin and crack for two years now has helped. Me. Its in the mind. I can relate to saying that it would almost make u look down and despise those guys who get all excited wen they see a hit. I can relate to that. But for me concentrating on tryi g to understand how badly prison can damage your mind and then address's g. This first, has been the only way I've cleaned my act up and could begin to make moves to do so. There is a way to move forward for anyone doubting it.
Peace ✌️🙏
Thanks for all your hard work. Appreciate you and Wes knowledge. That outro sound clip gave me flashbacks and physically affects me deep inside my psyche.
