I think the thing that saved me from this was i was 39 years old when I went to Prison. I basically saw a bunch of dumb kids playing around on there. I did my little 2 yr bit & haven't ever been back. I'm 50 today!

Worst thing experienced in prison is knowing that your terminally ill loved one will die before you get out. They live states away and aren't healthy enough to visit you. You will never see them again is a harsh reality.

Damn...other than the cheek-bustin', these stories remind me of my junior-high school. Everything was a test in there, too, and the uniform answer to just about all the questions was violence. Former CO here. I rarely looked up someone's sheet and my philosophy was "i'm not here to punish anyone...being in the institution is punishment enough". Good luck to all those watching that are on the outside....please...keep it that way.
I talked to a guard about a year ago, he said when he was new he tried to do what he thought was the “right thing” and he learned quick prison ain’t that way. He got cornered by prisoners and they set him straight, after they made him give them BJs, they told him if he doesn’t get with the program they would take turns with him next time. Keep in mind this wasn’t a story about someone else, he admitted it happened to him. Guards are just there to keep you inside and go home to their family, not yo protect prisoners from other prisoners.

I talked to a guard about a year ago, he said when he was new he tried to do what he thought was the “right thing” and he learned quick prison ain’t that way. He got cornered by prisoners and they set him straight, after they made him give them BJs, they told him if he doesn’t get with the program they would take turns with him next time. Keep in mind this wasn’t a story about someone else, he admitted it happened to him. Guards are just there to keep you inside and go home to their family, not yo protect prisoners from other prisoners.
