I used to be a CO in Texas and I will tell you that these dudes are telling the truth 100%. As an inmate or CO, you will never be the same once you leave that place! The inmates were bad but they were not as bad as the corrupt CO’s and warden. I can remember an incident where one of my Co-Workers told me not to feed an inmate because he didn’t like the inmate. Once I refuse, a week later they set me up and had me fired. I hated that job because of how the inmates were treated. The prisons would be more peaceful if they actually rehabilitate the inmates instead of treating them less than animals!

I am a former CO. and I can say this is the most honest episode yet. I always tell people don't believe what Hollywood is feeding you about prison sub culture. Prison is almost an upside down reality. Most people who happen to be incarcerated are often smarter than most COs. Most COs are often more criminal than the incarcerated. Quiet dude, whether CO or Inmates are quiet because they have bigger fish to fry in running illegal operations within the walls; that's what makes them dangerous. Any CO who tells you the job is a babysitting job is not paying attention because babysitters don't get to supervise killers or rapists. And if you are a dirty CO inmates will own you through blackmail, basically making you an inmate. Whether CO or Inmate, the most important friend you have is ORDER.; without it you will get played.

I found Wes very entertaining during that initial interview with Herc, but it didn’t necessarily carry over well to his own channel, especially when he started getting away from the topic of prison. Meanwhile, channels like Herc & Josh have still keep my interest. 90% of Wes’s channel is life coaching.

Not that I was ever at high risk to get into crime, but I’ve been watching Prison Talk for a few years, and holy shit dude, I’m staying in school. I’m sticking to college, my books, academia, all that shit. I’m gonna drive like a granny, not take risks with drugs, etc. because it seems like any kind of sensible, civilized humanity vanishes in prison. Seems like prison forces everybody to be a barbarian. I just don’t want any part of that. Count me out. Keep doing your thing Herc, you’ve taught people a lot.
I swear this like hearing my step father talk! He gave me so many prison stories and I remember when we would go see him on the weekends for Sunday dinner he would point out cats who got raped or beat up 🤕 and man the look of loss on some of their faces I will never forget.

Man, O.G. Silverback is a masterclass in understand interpersonal relationships. Have you noticed that he uses Big Herc's name almost every time he addresses him. Notice the care that he takes not to offend him when he says something while still being direct and getting his point across. He never interrupts and and makes sure that the conversation is always a two-way exchange. He was probably born with a lot of emotional intelligence but you can tell that he developed the skill from standing alone in prison for all that time.

I found Wes very entertaining during that initial interview with Herc, but it didn’t necessarily carry over well to his own channel, especially when he started getting away from the topic of prison. Meanwhile, channels like Herc & Josh have still keep my interest. 90% of Wes’s channel is life coaching.

That mentality is being questioned because you'd have to do some gruesome shit and risk a lot of extra prison time to back it up.

Not that I was ever at high risk to get into crime, but I’ve been watching Prison Talk for a few years, and holy shit dude, I’m staying in school. I’m sticking to college, my books, academia, all that shit. I’m gonna drive like a granny, not take risks with drugs, etc. because it seems like any kind of sensible, civilized humanity vanishes in prison. Seems like prison forces everybody to be a barbarian. I just don’t want any part of that. Count me out.

Man, O.G. Silverback is a masterclass in understand interpersonal relationships. Have you noticed that he uses Big Herc's name almost every time he addresses him. Notice the care that he takes not to offend him when he says something while still being direct and getting his point across. He never interrupts and and makes sure that the conversation is always a two-way exchange. He was probably born with a lot of emotional intelligence but you can tell that he developed the skill from standing alone in prison for all that time.
