I did get the sound that I really wanted from my JBL Xtreme with a little help from an EQ. It doesn't distort on max volume so hands down it's JBL Xtreme for me.
Tried this challenge as well... JBL Extreme is the winner. There just has to be something said about having more mass that effects the overall sound quality. The Bose is very high and is my second favorite speaker in this weight class, but the JBL, with its bigger body and I'm guessing trademarked technology, just has more to work with and subsequently it provides a better overall sound.
I went out myself and tried them both out in March. In April I purchased the Bose revolve, you're showing. The reason being is because the sound projects completely around, which makes a huge difference. Its strange because the ube you're showing sounds louder then the Bose. Thats because it projects sounds one way. I've turned it up on max volume and it sounds great. The higher you hang it, the better the sound. The handle is a plus right along with the protective bumpers around it.
I’d buy the revolve for indoors because it’s portable and sounds clearer. I’d buy the xtreme for outdoor use because it’s louder with more bass (also truly waterproof). Outdoors is all about volume and the bass.

Is the Bose revolve plus that much better? I was thinking of the smaller revolve since this is more expensive. I know it’s better since it’s bigger than the revolve. What made you exchange the jbl extreme for the Bose?

Seeing as the microphone is directly in front of the speakers (hence an advantage to the JBL), might I suggest a fairer comparison would have the Bose located in the corner of a room a few inches from both walls? The bass it generates bouncing sound off two walls is really something to behold!
I have both if these, I fi d the bass from the Bose to be somewhat Tinny though.

I had this Bose for many years up until a few weeks ago, it went into the water in St Thomas. Tried soaking it in a bag of rice, nothing, wouldn't even turn on any longer. Im buying the JBL tomorrow. I should have bought it today since i listened to both these speakers pretty much side by side at Target. JBL is also waterproof.
i don't think anyone watching this can really get the right idea about these speakers from this Demo. The BOSE pushes out rich sound at 360 degrees while the JBL gives all it's sound in one direction. Very different speakers. When I heard the demos at Best Buy I thought the Revolve + sounded much better but that's just me.

Consider the 360° audio in the Bose speaker
When these speakers are taken around outside of a room, they are portable so this is their purpose, you can’t tell the different in bass as there are no walls or objects to deflect the sound, and the JBL is considerably bigger than the Bose so for portability the Bose is better. Which is why I have bought a Bose.
I have bought the bose revolve plus and it took me by surprise how good the sound is. The sound quality is sperub good and there only one thing i would like to say the bass is pritty deep and strong to. And i got the new jbl xreme 2 whitch to the extreme 2 wins hands down better deep bass good sound quality to. However i still love the bose revolve plus more then the extreme 2.

bose! i have both speakers and i like the revolve plus better. its way smaller and lighter and easier 2 carry around. sure the jbl is louder but bose sounds better in person.

2 much fanboyism. The extreme is clearly better. Where bose shines is with their soundlink speakers, their size compared to quality is amazing, the revolve is 2 big and gets beaten by the competition.

In there same category either a Bose or JBL, it really depend much on the user preference & feel just like the Canon _ Nikon user war, both are good/excellent on their category. Me, I personally like the Bose & Canon as a consumer.

I got both of them and my recommendation is the Bose,the xtreme got Serious batterie problems . After 6 months of use the battery doesn’t charge, JBL changed my speaker 2 times and the 3er one fail after 12 months! So, save your time, money and and buy the Bose. The xtreme sound really loud and deeply, but the Bose is crisp and really love the 360 sound you don’t need to move it to listen clearly like the JBL .

ive been looking for the best comparisons to the xtreme. after 3 hours of research you have offered the most accurate results. bose has a slightly better sound. but i am now confident the xtreme is very close in quality and superior in bass, volume, and worth 150$ today on cyber monday. i will play it upstairs in my kitchen and hear it downstairs or out back. or at any party even at mid volume the sound quality is still mesmerizing. good analysis

They both sound pritty good. Both the jbl exreme and the Bose revolve plus have good sound quality and deeper bass to. However if I would pick a winner it's going to be the jbl exreme better sound and much more deeper strong bass to. But I still love the Bose revolve plus it has good natuel sound and we'll balance to.
I was rooting for the bose because I wanted to get the bose, but in all the reviews i saw and heard, the JBL kicked ass......
Nick Young it's easy to get sound out of large speakers Bose is an engineering masterpiece compared to the jbl even tho the jbl may be slightly more accurate in the shrill highs. I gaurantee you you will be more worn out listening to the jbl quicker than the jbl. Shrill highs wear you out quickly

My honest opinion here. The bose revolve to me is much more for an indoor setting if say you were having dinner or a small party. However, the JBL seems to have higher highs and deeper lows which would make better for an outdoor party or setting where you might have some drinks or a small get together. Clearly both can serve their purpose but for myself I will have the JBL because of what I'm looking to accomplish. As I stay more within the house and not go out as often, the bose evolve seems to be the choice. Then again that is only one person's opinion that is unbiased

Bose distords at higher volumes while JBL doesn't, also JBL has less compression than Bose. But revolve(+) is much better than Soundlink Mini and at lower volumes Bose sounds fuller than JBL as JBL doesn't compensate the bass at low volume. My personal opinion is that JBL speakers has a pop sound signature which is more bass&treble than mids, that causes the clarity but the sound will not be hifi like. As I don't listen to speakers at their higher volumes I will go for Bose revolve series, although I really prefer the JBL low distortion and controlled sound playback.

Hi. I need an advice. I have now the jbl charge 3, and i need something stronger(/louder) , but not much bigger. As i checked till now on the internet, the jbl extreme seems the the loudest (also with good quality). Actually, the xtreme is basically a bit big for me, but i will take him if he is the best option.
Do you recommendation on any other speaker with same volume like the jbl extreme (and not bigger than him) ?
And what about altec super life jacket? Do you know him ?

i have the xtreme and honestly its better than the megaboom and the super life jacket loud and has more bass and even keeps most bass at max volume i would get the xtreme considering i think you can pair it with the charge 3 and really have something loud and have alot of bass
and there is nothing louder and has more bass than the xtreme at its price and its size trust me i looked

@@MadePotions is the the volume difference between the super life jacket and the xtreme is a significant difference (at max volume) ? Cause the Altec have 2 advantages on the Xtreme, 1.much more battery life (they said up to 50 hours) . 2. He is much more protected.
So i would say, if the difference in the max volume (and quality ) is not significant, maybe the altec is better choice.
One thing i forgot to mention, for my needs ,a speake that he is 360 , is a disadvantage, i prefer/need all the volume in one direction (more or less)

Excellent demo! Overall the Bose sounds richer at both levels and the JBL high's are harsher at full volume.
To be fair in volume test a pair of bose should be used. It makes a huge difference.
Please make a Sony xb30 vs bose revolve+ sound comparison and don't use these usual tracks. Already sick of these tracks.

I use mainly Bose in my home. Memorial day sale at Frys had anJBL Extreme factory refurb for 138+tax. Charged it overnight, played straight from 9am then stopped at 9:25am. Battery dead. F that. Im returning it! 15hrs to 25minutes is BS. Sound is amazing no doubt about that but this is where Bose comes in, customer service is always top notch. JBL.. well, that will be a different story.
Can't really compare since one is 360 degrees. The audio output is more broad. JBL should sound clearer cause it's focused and one directional. A better comparison is JBL Pulse 3 vs Revolve+. Similar build design.

Bose has premium sound, for all music styles and ages.. JBL never satisfyed me, cause it not produse full sound.. JBL -sound for teenagers. They need only volume and bass ( many bass ).... same story, like Beats headphones..

I coach beach volleyball out on the beach and need a speaker that can sit in the middle of 4 courts and be heard on all of them. The Brookstone Big Blue Party Indoor Outdoor Speaker was perfect, but I had to replace it because it’s a fire hazard. I bought the JBL Boombox and it does everything we need EXCEPT it only faces one way, so you can’t hear it from the two courts behind it. What is the best replacement? I need portable, bluetooth, loud, 360 degree or at least front & back speakers so sound goes 2 opposite directions, and waterproof if possible. Budget up to $500. I'm looking at the Bose Revolve+ but am not sure it's as loud as the Big Blue Party. Does anyone have any recommendations?

To be honest the bose revolve plus doesn't even go into the jbl extreme weight class..its in the jbl charge category..yet for what ever reason most reviewers put it in the exterme size category..if the revolve plus was put against the jbl charge speakers it would make the charge look quite worthless.
I think for quality is Bose you get what you paid for. JBL is also good quality but my preference is Bose. My dad's car has Bose and i know this has nothing to do with the video but i was amazed how good it was the sound also it depends what music you are listening to. Bose is only good for speakers but not for Earbuds, Earphones and Headphones. I don't know about JBL though. 🙏 Peace.
360 degree speakers will not sound as stereo and direct as the jbl
Jbl has louder clear mid & high over Bose. Usually Bose has a deep bass with soft refine mid high. Overall if you are into modern genre music you will go with jbl. If you like classic and softer genre of music will go with the Bose.

I purchased charge 3, purchased Xtreme. Returned both after 2 months or sold them. Then I heard the bose sound link 3. I was very impressed. The revolve plus was announced. I got that and it’s even more superior to the soundlink 3. I took it to a pool once and really swam with it. Stopped working the next day. Bose were nice enough to give me a brand new unit. But be wary don’t take them swimming.
Sound is way better in reality on the Bose. Bass has definition and depth, which the JBL lacks. Bose highs are more natural, and in the JBL case its still way too harsh.
The latest update improved the JBL, but mostly just the distorsion issues.
Sure, the JBL plays louder, but sound quite bad at high volume, so it doesnt really matter.
On the other hand ,Bose 360° sound doesnt really add up much. They need walls close to them to achieve their best. Very hard to compare them in a recording due to the fact that one is omnidirectional.
Only case i would say JBL is more suitable is outdoor in free space. The boomy sound comes to better use in those areas.
Also, the party or stereo paring is a bit easier on the JBL. And Bose lacks ability to pair analog signals. Processor delay is shorter on Bose, which is better for videos(even still some delay)
Hope that they tweak sound better on next JBL.

All the folks debating who is better go get off your butt and go listen in a store. I just came back from Bose and jbl showrooms. Bose in such a small factor is great sounding , full sound signature speaker. But there is a wierd DSP on Bose speakers . I felt the normal revolve had more full range sound than the plus as plus was just more warmer but as soon as the go high volume the DSP kicked in made it sound wierd mumbo jumbo. On the other hand jbl sound was more of natural and less of DSP but ofcourse at high volume DSP was doing something wierd too which is expected from such a small form factor. Both speakers are not perfect but at such small form factor they are not bad either. For music like Rock, EDM and jazz which I tried Bose was top notch like it was a live performance. Rap sounded like a tin can to me on Bose and better on JBL.. Bose being a single speaker and 2 transducer with that DSP did a good job. that'ske from the visit today. I still haven't picked one and deciding yet.

I have both. Jbl is louder but the bose has better quality sound. Bose sounds better indoors and jbl sounds better outdoors. Don't forget jbl xtreme is one directional and bose revolve is 360 degrees SOUND. I use the revolve more because it has amazing sound for a speaker that size.

bose stands behind their products 100 percent. jbl will do anything to not stand behind their products. if you can afford the bose then you should go that way. jbl is not a reputable company at all.
