I've watched so many sound test on these 2 speakers. And I have to say they both sound completely different on every video I watch. So the only true way to see how one sounds is to go to a store and check them out.

Oh wow, I was going to buy the Charge 4, but the Charge 3 sounded somewhat better -- so here I am.
Now I noticed that this Extreme 2 is just like a bigger Charge 3 with its 2 bigger drivers. I love this thing.
Xtreme 2 just came out with a firmware update. Its louder and the sound signature has improved.

So, i have the XB30, which on paper a littlebit louder, and punch biggers, deepers than the charge3 . However, the xtreme 2 came out l, and i want to know how stronger is the Xtr2 than my XB30, and which can go deeper. It would be a dream if you could make it. Keep up the good work!

Charge 3 has more definition in the midfield, extreme has highs and lows, but there is a lack of body in the midfield, I would prefer a more balanced box with a fuller midfield.
Update the Xtreme 2's firmware for full sound
Charge3 is about the same volume because xtreme 2 is there without Firmware Update and now the xtreme 2 will blow the charge3 away because it is much louder now I heard the difference in real life
Field tested both, indoors charge is sufficient, really you don't need something better , but outdoors extreme is waaaay louder, fuller sound even on battery, larger drivers move more air, basic physics. If you're planning on using your speaker outside, buy extreme2, miles better than charge.

Lol, the Xtreme 2 sounds just a little better for double the price. Just get the first Xtreme instead if you're looking for a big and loud speaker. If the compact-factor matters to you, then go with the Charge 3. The Xtreme 1 is better than the Charge, but you won't notice the difference that much. From a happy owner of a Charge 3.
Great video. You're videos are always thorough and well arranged. Always very helpful contents. I have a request for your future vidoes. Most of the major bluetooth speaker brands are beginning to make Voice Assistant enabled bluetooth speakers. For instance, JBL Link 10 or Link 20. It almost feels like If I don't buy a speaker with this function, I'm loosing out value for money . I wish to hear what's your thoughts in this issue. Also, It would be nice to see some of the major Voice assistant speakers compared with Best selling regular Bluetooth speakers currently on the market !. Keep up the great work !

Nice comparison. There's nothing X-treme about the X-treme 2 except the depth of the bass. I would rather purchase 2 Charge 3's costing $99 and have excellent stereo separation for $200 than to pay $300 for a small amount of deeper bass from the X-treme 2. I believe Jbl reduced the X-treme 2's volume while playing on battery because if it played at the same volume as it did while it was plugged in, then of course that would drastically reduce it's playing time from 15 hours to roughly around 7 or 8 hours or possibly less. In my opinion this bluetooth speaker is disgracefully a huge disappointment and definitely an X-treme failure. Jbl should be ashamed for charging customers $300 for this. At this price point the Aiwa Exos 9 will easily put this speaker to shame...
Doc Elecktronc they fix that problem already but yeah the exos 9 no comparison destroy the JBL Xtreme 2.
Tyler gaming yes I did see that JBL created a new update. It's better but not enough to impress me. The update only allows the JBL Xtreme 2 to play 1.5 decibels louder on battery mode. For its size and weight in my opinion it should be much louder than that.

Charge 3 has a lack of treble that makes it feel like it's missing something. The flip 4 sounds fuller and more natural. I would love the Flip 4 sound with the tiny extra bass depth and rumble of the charge 3, it would be perfect. As it stands the Flip 4 triggers my OCD less than the Charge 3, so I use it more. I guess I just have to wait for the Charge 4, there is lots of potential as gen

actually i have extreme 2 2.4 and charge 3 new version 7.6 so charge sound bass a little bit better than extreme 2 but extreme 2 louder idk you can upgrade if u want extreme 2 good but not too good dont think extreme 2 is something wow its just louder better bass .

With the latest firmware update the Xtreme is using 30watts of power but it still sucks because it doesn't keep the punch up to max volume and its just a bit louder than the Charge 3 ... :(

Bro it really depends on what ur using it for if ur looking for a speaker to use outdoors i recommend the boombox tbh I own the boombox 2 and its loud enough for outdoor u could even get a noise complaint but it depends if ur willing to spend the money on it i also own a extreme 2 I've had it for about a year now and it's still going strong

The Xtreme 2 looks like a bigger Charge 4 and the original Xtreme looks like a bigger Charge 3. I like how with every generation they change the design.
Remember nowadays with charge 4 and charge 5 same with the flip 5 and flip 6 they need to go back to stereo sound they made mono i prefer stereo sound for music

Very little difference in volume between the two. A bit wider range with the Extreme 2, but it's not much, and it's mainly only on certain songs. Nothing to talk about. Not worth the larger size. I don't get it.
You should check out the Teufel Boomster NG, Vifa and B&O speakers, they crush those well known brands like JBL, Bose, Sony etc.
For 3-10 times the price, I would be upset if they didn't.

u can definitely hear those tweeters on the xtreme 2 but as far as the actual volume both speakers produce I cant really hear a difference through this video I mean obviously the xtreme 2 gets much louder just wish someone could property portray that over a single video

The bass is not as good on the JBL Charge 3 but it's louder but has no tweeters so the Xtreme 2 sounds better but I prefer to charge 3 overall because it's louder.

If you normally hear sound at a very reasonable height where the jbl charge 3 normally reaches, it does not make sense for a larger box ... advantages of jbl charge 3: portability, great bass, more balanced sound, reaches a very reasonable height, and the cost benefit. advantages of jbl xtreme: plays louder, more bass ... and that's it.

defing the law of phisics the little charge 3 goes lower in frequency aka more bass . the etreme 2 has a more balanced and clearer sound..... But but my esperience told me if you play the charge different hours it becomes more clearer overtime than it was brandnew

Definitely the JBL extreme 2 take the cake as far as sound quality and bass. The xb60 it is louder but it's only fake frequency or upper bass with just only mids and nothing else.

You can pair all of them together (charge 3 needs the upgrade to the connect plus)
Yup, the charge 3 can be linked with the newer speakers that have JBL connect plus as long as you have it upgraded to the most recent firmware but watch out, once you upgrade it, there is no return.

Charger 3 has a great powerful sound. I exchanged it with the extreme 2 and there is a BIG difference in the medium and in the bass. It's not really about how powerful it is, it's about the the clarity and the quality of the sound. On that battle the extreme 2 beat the charger 3 easily. You never talk about the possibility of using equalizers (the one from poweramp for example) and bass boosters applications. It's really a pity as you can really boost and adapt the sound the way you like. That's why people cannot always rely on reviews when buy buying a speaker.
Yessssss. A good media player can make a big difference. I use bot Poweramp and jet audio+ . Unfortunately people do not take full advantage of their sparkers. I have a Samsung he -430 sound bar and with the jet audio+ player sounds 80% better. Much of the good sound quality comes from the a good software not the speaker itself.
I have a charge 3. I love it. Went outside with it in a busy area and it's great. I do worry that since it has cloth material, it might stink over time with all the outside smells clinging onto it. Any long time owners experience this?
I've owned the charge 3 for a year now, it still smells normal after using it almost everyday outside. Don't worry about it.
no stink. i wouldnt recommend using a bass boost app. it will brake. only the charge 3 has it. i own boombox tho and want to buy xtreme 2 my charge 3 has died

The JBL Xtreme 2 is much louder but its hard to hear, cuz thats the same as the Xtreme 1! On that speaker you can also not hear much differents on the charge 3 and Xtreme 1 (2)

i bought the charge 3 as the boombox and ..... all jbls upper than the flip 4. they are made juste to shake passive radiators not create good sound quality.

Extreme 2 is definitely pretty close BUT if its only plugged in, but compared to the charge 3 on just the battery alone and the $300 Extreme2 lacks mids & highs compared to the charge 3. As for the massively price difference id rather buy (2) two charge3 for $60-70 each on Offerup, being that the Extreme 2 that only sonds better plugged into a wall outlet. Blah... Sorry but (2) two Charge 3 in your backpack would blow that overpriced $300 Extreme 2 out of the water. I customized my single Charge3 i hard wired (2) left and right 2x6 ProPyles horn tweeters in a small custom compact box i made and it blows the Xtreme1,2,3 ect..... big time out of the water. No contest. I put them inside my regular backpack on volume 5 outta 50 low volume and the detail, separation and quality is superior and if its maxed out at 50 WOW yea it turns heads cause people are like wtf is that super loud and super crispy clear music. Here's a true story an officer was at a red light and i didn't see him and started cranking some Jimmy Hendrix he literally had to do a u turn just to figure out wtf did i have in my backpack. I showed him and he was like holy hell he said he also has a charge 3 and its not clearly that insanity loud and super crisp and detailed. FYI the ProPyle horn tweeters are 50w max 25w rms each. Ill soon post a dreakdown video. The 2 ProPyle combined in their boxes are about 1/3 size of the Charge 3 in comparison. Next step is seeing if i can add an additional charge3 battery to the setup. Any ideas or recommendations from anyone reading this ? Thank you.
