    This may just be me, but I feel like the way Jason Todd came back to life in the comics felt really convoluted. I feel like the film version was just fine, and it would work. Superboy doing some sh*t to the source wall and that makes Jason comes back seams really dumb to me.

    For Shazam, Mark Waid is a huge classic Captain Marvel fan and he and Dan Mora already had Billy cameo in World’s Finest, which by the way is probably tied with AC as the best book DC has right now and is set in the sort of Silver Age of the current continuity. Perfect team for this.

    My favorite mainstream dc character is Shazam, so i’m happy he’s getting a book with an outstanding creative team! Also do think that the “Shazamily” is way to bloated and should be narrowed down a bit, but I’m glad DC is developing Billy by himself, which is really needed.
    Leah Williams will be writing Powergirl in Action Comics backup issues so I already know what to expect.. PKJ writing John Stewart might get me into reading green lantern, so i’m looking forward to that.

    Green Arrow and Aquaman deserve their own ongoings at DC. It’s a shame neither of them have their own book rn. Can’t wait for Williamson’s GA book

    I'm HYPED for the Shazam book. Also the thing with Billy Batson is he was the first superhero in comics to really have that kind of extended superheroic family. Before Superman or Batman or anyone else, it was The Marvel Family with Billy at the center... The ISSUE being Post-Crisis they added that utterly stupid and unneeded "if he shares his powers he gets weaker" which means if Mary or Freddy use their powers... Billy is weaker. Just a means to keep him down if you ask me.
    That being said the other issue with the family, much as I love them, these days is... if Billy is just Shazam that really hampers any kind of superhero name the others can have.

      As long as they are calling him Shazam & not Captain Marvel or Captain Thunder or some other normal code name other than Shazam I am not reading it Shazam is the wizard & it should stay that way

    • @benyaakov6453
      @benyaakov6453 Год назад

      @Will N Actually they don't have to call him Shazam,they just can not use the name Captain Marvel as the name of a movie,TV show,comic or merchandise but they can still him Captain Marvel inside the comic,TV show or movie. Also they could use Captain Thunder which was what CC Beck & Bill Parker before they changed it to Captain Marvelous & eventually settled on Captain Marvel when it hit print in Whiz Comics #2 the published by Fawcett. Yes Marvel swiped & trademarked the name but DC can still use the name in a movie,TV show or comic just not as the title IMHO thy should just use either of te 2 original choices & call him either Captan Thunder or Captain Marvelous but calling him Shazam is just plain stupid & an iinsult to the memories of CC Beck & Bill Parked who named the wizard Shazam & not the hero!!!!

    • @benyaakov6453
      @benyaakov6453 Год назад

      @Will N There would be no confusion if they call him Captain Thunder &those of us that are lingtime fans would be happier than calling him Shazam

      @Will N I have been a fan since reading my dad's old Whiz & Captain Marvel Adventures comics which he gave me as a little kid & also since DC brought him back in the 70's & those of us like me who have been following his adventures that many years are aghast that they are calling him Shazam not by another code name if they can't use Catain Marvel surely they can be more creative than that & respect CC Beck & Bill Parker as well as us long time fans

    Sounds exciting for the most part. I’ll read any lantern book with PKJ on it, even Salaak, Joshua Williamson on Green Arrow I’ll definitely be checking out, and Mark Waid and Dan Mora are my favorite current creative team so I am 100% reading Shazam.

    Justice League Incarnate by Williamson and Burnham was awesome by the way. That and the Infinite Frontier mini were great. Dark Crisis works way better having read them, and it kind of is meant to be the third act to that.
    All the multiversal and cosmic stuff tying past stories together in a really cohesive way was in there. Plus JLI is really the first real sequel to Multiversity using the Incarnate team, having meta stuff and having Darkseid fight Thanos. Hope they get an ongoing.

    dawn of dc is not a reboot but is just marketing similar to DCYou. The last reboot was Doomsday Clock 12 which brought back the justice society, jonathan kent, martha kent. The Dawn Of DC seems to be a marketing strategy to promote solo titles so they might rest the justice league title for maybe about 1 year, to force people to buy more solo titles.

      @Will N different people assign reboot points differently depending on purpose. I assign reboot points mainly to divide the ages into golden age, silver age, dark age, etc. All the reboots are debatable since batman and green lantern often escape the reboots. For my own headcanon, I have 4 reboots: showcase 4 (jsa removed from default earth), coie (jsa put back on the default earth), new 52 reboot (jsa removed from default earth), doomsday clock 12 retroboot (a retroboot is a type of reboot)(jsa put back on default earth).

    Shazam with Waid and Mora will be amazing! Green Arrow should absolutely have his own book, but putting Williamson on it still baffles me. Green Arrow was made popular by going political and I do NOT see Williamson as the right guy for a book like that. They already had Tom Taylor, who'd habe been perfect. Penguin is another one that leaves me scratching my head. Few books about Batmans rogues turn out well and Penguin is a little too bland to carry a series in the comics. Let's just get another Bane or Mam Bat mini or give a Book to Clayface or Res al. Ghul. Why make the discount Kingpin the star of an on going title?

    I'm 100% with you! I too am worried about Action Comics. I personally don't care about back-up stories, they usually suck and have bad art. I'm hoping PKJ gets through this little experiment and becomes the only writer of Action comics again!

    Bro. I’m really worried about action comics now. If they do limited pages for filler and back up stories, that be so dumb because they already did that with future state and we saw how that worked out. Hope this doesn’t mess with PKJ’s stories he’s been building up to. I am excited for Green Arrow and John Stewart books tho

  • @rcbmmines4579
    @rcbmmines4579 Год назад

    Personally I dig back up stories, especially for Action Comics and Detective Comics. It goes back to their roots as anthology books with Superman and Batman as solos.
    AC’s already had back-ups for a while now with an expanded page count so I can see it happening here too. Some back ups were eh, but the last few were directly related with PKJ also writing.
    Here, Dan Jurgens is writing young Jon in the past too and I’m looking forward to that.

    The only new book I'm actually interested in is John Stewart's. Just because he's my fav GL.
    Green Arrow written by Joshua Williamson instantly kills my interest, tbh. Don't care for his writing, plots, or takes on most characters. If it's actually considered good later, I might check it out, but even then, my expectations will be low. I like Green Arrow, but definitely not enough.
    Penguin... I guess DC is pushing him because the recent Batman movie and Penguin spin off stuff, but I gotta say, I'd rather have a Killer Croc series than a Penguin one.
    The rest seem to be "if I got nothing better to do"s, unfortunately.

    For the Shazam run, to fix the Marvel Family’s history I would restore the entire pre-Crisis Earth-S continuity set after the first Crisis in 1985, in which all of the Fawcett characters age in real time since they first appeared in the comics, resulting in Earth-S’ first and second generation of heroes (who appeared in the late ‘30s and 40s) to chronologically be in their 50s or 60s (or physically in their 30s or 40s, since they were in suspended animation for roughly 20 years) in the 1980s.
    After the first Crisis, Billy Batson would reveal his identity to his longtime love interest Cissie Sommerly, and Mary Batson and Freddy Freeman would realize that they have harbored feelings for each other romantically (referencing to Jerry Ordway’s Power of Shazam). Billy and Cissie would be married on October 25, 1988; and Freddy and Mary would be married on November 15, 1988 (referencing a Shazam backup feature on Action Comics that featured the Captain Marvel of Earth-85); and Billy and Cissie would have two kids named Clarence Charles (or C.C.) and Marilyn in 1994 (referencing to Jerry Ordway’s Power of Shazam), while Freddy (who later became King Marvel) and Mary (who later became Queen Marvel) would have one kid named Otto Christopher Freeman (named after Otto Binder, who created Mary Marvel, and Kit Freeman, who is Kid Eternity and Freddy’s brother) in 1995 (referencing Mary and Freddy’s pre-Flashpoint debut).
    Black Adam, since the first Crisis, would start to redeem himself since the 90s, starting with him going to Khandaq (because he grew to love Khandaq while aiding Egypt before he was given powers by the Wizard around the year 3000 BC) and freeing the citizens from corruption. Since then, he would gain a family of his own in 2006 like Adrianna Tomaz (whom he married after she became the second Isis) and Amon Tomaz (who became Osiris) and would not just become Khandaq’s protector, but would make it a paradise (referencing the 52 maxi series). Since then, he and his Black Marvel Family would try to make Khandaq a better place, while aiding the Marvel Family from time to time.
    By 2006, C.C. and Marilyn Batson would take on the mantle as Earth-S’ second Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel, while Otto Freeman would take on the mantle as Earth-S’ second Captain Marvel Junior (before he decided to become the Whiz, which is a reference to Kingdom Come).
    By late 2011, Eugene Choi, Pedro Peña, and Darla Dudley (whom I assume is the granddaughter of the late Freckles Marvel, who is Uncle Dudley’s niece and Mary’s cousin) would stay at the Vasquez foster home in Philadelphia, and they would meet the Marvel Family and made their debut as the Sergeant Marvels after saying the magic word because they have a pure heart. Eugene will be Silver Marvel, Pedro will be Green Marvel, and Darla would be Purple Marvel, since their suits have their colors on them.
    By 2016, Billy and Cissie would stay in the Rock of Eternity after he retired from WHIZ radio and passing it to his kids, Freddy, and Mary. He would tell them that he is proud of his family and keep of the good work that they have all accomplished.
    By 2022, Malik White, who is a descendant of Black Adam, would receive his powers from Black Adam and make his public debut as Doctor Marvel (or White Marvel or any other superhero name that sounds cool), since he is a medical student and has a white suit. He would join the entire Marvel Family, including the Black Marvel Family, and would try and do his best to become a hero living in the Bronx.
    To WHIZ radio, since the first Crisis, it would evolve into a radio and TV station and a journalism building that is similar to various TV shows such as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Murphy Brown, WKRP in Cincinnati, and NewsRadio; and it would become one of best stations in NYC. Their staff would be active and it would improve overtime.
    To the other Fawcett characters, Pinky would become the second Mister Scarlet since the first Crisis and would fight alongside the original Mister Scarlet, Deanna Barr (who is the daughter of the Bullets, or Bulletman and Bulletgirl, and was born in 1973 or so) would make her debut as Windshear in 1998 and would fight alongside her parents, Danny Khalifa would made his debut as the second Ibis the Invincible in 2007 and would fight alongside the original Ibis the Invincible and Princess Taia, and Kit Freeman would still become a superhero as Kid Eternity (before graduating into Eternity or the Eternity Man by the early ‘90s, referring to the Vertigo run) until is official death in late 2016.
    By Dark Crisis, Earth-S’ first generation of heroes (i.e. Captain Marvel, Lieutenant Marvels, Bulletman, Bulletgirl, Ibis, Spy Smasher, Mister Scarlet, Minute Man, Uncle Dudley, and Black Adam), would be in their 100s (but physically in their 80s and look like they’re in their 60s), the second generation of heroes (i.e., Captain Marvel, Jr., Mary Marvel, Pinky, Freckles Marvel, Windshear, and Andrea Thomas Isis) would be between their 40s and their 90s (but some of them would be physically in their 70s, since they have made their debut between the 40s and the 90s), the third generation of heroes (i.e., Danny Khalifa Ibis, Adrianna Tomaz Isis, and Amon Tomaz Osiris) would be in their 30s, and the fourth generation of heroes (i.e., Sergeant Marvels, C.C. Batson Captain Marvel, Marilyn Batson Mary Marvel, Otto Freeman Whiz, and Malik White) would be in their teens or 20s.
    That is what I should do to fix the Marvel Family’s (and additionally, all the Fawcett characters’) history.
