Finally completed my move to Dallas Texas! Settling down in my new apartment and testing out restaurants new me is on the top of the list.

@@lstruggy Depends on location - DFW is huge. Had a nice 720 sq ft apt in North Dallas off the Sam Rayburn tollway for 1.16k/mo before utilities and other fees
@@lstruggy it really depends on location.. outskirts of Dallas like Plano, nice neighborhood nice apt 2bd 2bth probably $1.6k but it can be as high as 3k in really nice areas or dtown Dallas
I went to Phở Tây Đô at 2:30 yesterday and they were SLAMMED. I talked to the owner and they saw a 30% uptick just from Mikey! WIN!

I know, I go to the DFW area to eat Asian food and buy groceries at the various grocery stores. I wouldn't be totally surprised to run into him. Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other 😂😂😂
lol same, knowing I might run into him while he visits Austin XD or Dallas if I do decide to move there later on this year.
The two deadbolts are required by Texas code for apartments. One is a normal deadbolt, the other is a keyless deadbolt, so it can only be opened from the inside preventing the landlord or anyone else with the key from accessing the unit while you are inside.
What I like about Chen is he goes where the food is irregardless if it's in a city, or in suburban or rural America. Many people scoff at the latter two, but his taste buds carry so presumptions, where the outcomes are admirable and educational. He gives credit where it's due.

As someone who grew up in Texas, Mikey needs to try Buc-ee's. It's the largest gas station in the world that has a lot to offer. Their BBQ sandwiches are amazing, jerky is great, fudge is super good, basically the best kind of food that you'll ever see in a gas station. Not to mention their bathroom is insanely clean. Any and all Texans can vouch!

Buc-ees is one of the few if not only places in the US that could match a Japanese 7/11 or rest stop. At least that I know of.
Buc Ee is our gem and bombshells if he wants to see a fight and rudy's chicken

I was born and raised in Dallas Texas and when I met my wife I eventually ended up moving to Seattle because she has family here. Knowing that you were here and now are in Dallas helps me brag to my wife that Texas has the better food. If not the best.

Dallas is in the middle as well, you can just drive one way and be in houston drive the other way and be in Austin. Food scenery everywhere.

i love how down to earth Mikey remains despite his continued (and well deserved) success. i imagine he could easily afford some ridiculously huge home but instead he gets a sensible (but still super nice), stylish apartment and puts money back into his businesses and supports his family. Texas has a surprisingly big Vietnamese population(coming from a Vietnamese person btw :D), and has a lot of authentic, good Vietnamese food if you look hard enough. Also, try the patty melt at Whataburger, IMO 10/10

VISIT BUC-EE'S! Also, many Texans roadtrip to and fro different cities in Texas. It's not uncommon to make a trip from DFW to Houston or vice versa and hit up some small towns along the way. Welcome to Texas!
Average rent cost in Seattle WA is $1,866.
So half of that is $933 is a killer deal for a 2-bedroom apartment in Dallas with those amenities you showed off.
Ikr, I feel like I got scammed in Houston for the same, but at $1600. That's an amazing deal if it's really that cheap.

I've followed Mikey around the world and I'm still amazed at how much he can put away.

Mikey, here's a helpful tip about TX Driver's License. Get your car registered first, at the Tax Assessor office. Then go get your DL. The TX Department of Public Safety (DMV) will require a TX registration for your car in order to get a DL. (Or you can lie and tell them to you don't have a car.)
Lastly, the day after getting your car registered, expect a lot of robocalls about renewing your car's warranty. Start screening your calls.
DPS is not DMV...we have a DMV it's not the same and you really wouldn't interact with TX DMV

It’s a state requirement for rental properties that all exterior doors have two bolts: one that locks from the outside and one that can only be locked from the inside.

That is the problem with his channel. You get HUNGRY. There is another channel that is almost as good as his. John and mali, a couple from Australia that eat everything in Korea and Japan. These 2 channels make me fat . Ha ha the Asian supermarkets around me love it though. I always buy ramen soup and frozen dumplings from them

That apartment is pretty much a hotel. Rooftop pool, lounge bar, huge gym. Living the life MIkey!
Make sure to visit a Buc-ee’s gas station on your road trips to Houston or Austin. Just look for the Beaver sign and try their beef jerky. Welcome to Texas

Welcome to Texas!! You made the right choice, coming to the DFW region, there is a great deal of great food in the area! I love to do destination motorcycle rides to different small places that have great food, there are plenty to choose from!
Can I recommend checking out Goldfish Sushi in Haltom City? All you can eat sushi for under $30 per person
As a Dallas native, welcome! My family and I love Wu Wei Din, it’s our go-to Chinese place and everything we’ve tried from there is BOMB. Dallas has huge Vietnamese and Korean populations so you’ll find no shortages of Little Vietnam’s or Koreatown‘s, all of which have hidden gems. I highly recommend Mr. Max Izakaya in Irving! A real hole-in-the-wall with incredible food. Again, welcome!! ☺️

Since I'm half Vietnamese, I normally don't go out to eat Vietnamese. However, I'm a huge fan of Japanese and Korean foods. I've heard good things about the Korean bakeries in Texas. Time to visit, maybe during the winter as I've been to Texas once and almost died as it's so hot in the summer.
@@saysoun752 I’ve personally never been to the bakeries but the restaurants are to-die for in some parts around here like Carrollton and Plano! I’m sure Mikey will visit some soon. Also visit in the spring or late in the fall and you’re good lol 😆

Welcome to DFW! I’m a novice foodie, but check our the restaurants in Carrollton near H-Mart and 99 Ranch. Some of the best food I’ve had in the states. Also, look out for Secret Recipe, they specialize in Malaysian and Singapore food. My Malaysian roommate says it’s legit.

I live in Texas and the the Vietnamese scene definitely isn't lacking, there's a place right next to my high school where I can get a half gallon of pho for only $10

Welcome to Dallas! If you haven't heard about any of them yet, there are a lot of really good Korean restaurants in the Royal Avenue K-Town area. No.1 Plus Chicken is definitely a favorite for me, but you really can't go wrong with picking any of them.
