Bro you mention the absolute nuggets of gold that are so important to know. Learning that every punch doesn't have to be hard is such an underrated ability, as well as not overcommitting with punches. Kudos once again.
Amen brother. I advise beginners to say to themselves after big shots “Can I double up the shot?” Keeps you mobile and in the fight. The fight isn’t over until the ref says so!
spot on yet again Tony lad!! people forget how effective a small punch thrown correctly can be , watch amateur bouts and you`ll see bad techniques throwing big ole` hayemakers every time , then good boxers get in the ring and technique is everything with efficiency and accuracy being paramount

You’re the only RUclipsr that’s actually done it in the ring 👍👍👍👍 edit- and tell us some words that tommy brooks told you!!!!!!!
Hey Tony! I am an amateur boxer, and I was thinking if you could make some videos with heavy bag drills we could practice on our own! Thanks again for this channel, in my small and rather irrelevant experience I can tell the quality of the content is one of the best in the tube!
try to work on your depth perception. Over-committing the punch happens because the target is further away then perceived, the expected impact does not happen and the punch travels further. Best way is to work on the heavy bag.
@@Tony_Jeffries I already do I’m addicted to shadow boxing it’s just in the gym it feels way better and I feel like I’m making more progress but I’ll make sure to catch up on more of your content !!
This is a common problem for boxers who learn to 'lean forward' into their power shots, believing that it increases power. The problem is the further you lean into the target the shorter the straight punches become. It took me a long time to learn to throw the 1-2 or 2 without leaning forward, partly I was doing it because of fear of hyperextending, and also just generally picking up bad habits from working the heavy bag.
@@Tony_Jeffries I would mate but I don’t have any social media bar a RUclips account. I’ve shared your videos with friends before though 👍🏻 great content.
Great video this has to be the best boxing coach channel on RUclips could you do a video on fighting on the back foot and punching going backwards my boxing gym says that a lot of fighters can't fight on the back foot but we have that many boxers my coach can't get around everyone and I'm struggling with it as punching while moving backwards feels weird and I can't seem to get the footwork right

Wow, you are very good at explaining things, man! And, what is a rarity among the English, keep things short yet informative, without spending time on a 45-minute video on "how to do one side-step" :))
I have been boxing for 8 years, but when I play after one or two rounds, I feel so tired in the shoulders that I cannot even hold my hands to protect my face 💔 My teacher, I want you to give me stamina exercises for the shoulders. I don't want blow strength exercises👍 I want shoulder exercises for endurance 🥊 And thanks coach 😍❤️
I had this Problem myself... here are some things that might help you. Strengthen your shoulder generally (lateral raises, upright Rows, etc., switch between high weight and 8-12 reps and low weight for maybe 20 reps. The next thing you could try is Shadowboxing with your gloves on or extra weight, remember the thing that makes you tired are the extra 10/12/14oz - the gloves. Another thing that helped me was keeping my guard very tight so my shoulders could rest a little Bit and lots of heavy bag work (12x3 Minute rounds) i hope i was able to help you, have a great day👊
Gennady power jab? Think he is the number 1 boxer who lads the jabs the most. Does it the strongest and changes the rythem with it and used to fix his balance if its offset
