The steam deck performance is getting closer and closer to the switch and will eventually surpass it. I just hope that day comes sooner than later because I refuse to do an entire 2nd playthrough on the switch and I am itching to play the game again.
Don't know why, but I don't have a itch to replay totk yet. But botw I completed it like 4 times already.
I haven’t played it much yet either as I’m waiting for it to be more stable. I have yuzu ea and the 1.2update but it only runs around 20-30 mostly low 20s though unfortunately
@@GrownUpGamingGUGI'm paying BOTW on deck with yuzu, 30 FPS with drops to 20s. Its fairly playable. Problem is I encountered a shrine next to a town where in the shrine you have to look at a miniature ball in a maze puzzle, and you have to use motion controls on the switch to turn the switch and roll the ball through the maze to unlock the shrine you're in. I don't have any motion controls on yuzu and couldn't figure it out so I stopped playing it 😢. Are there areas in TOTK also where gyro or motion Controls are required?
maybe in the future when yuzu gets more optimizations it will reach 30 fps stable.
@@kukulkan4930let's hope! :)
I am amazed its able to hit a mostly 30fps or sometimes above 30 even with higher fidelity than the Switch. even through emulation
it's pretty good. but i would rather play on switch at the moment still.
Its not great here, the settings are not prolly as fine tuned as they can be either though.
Combat is where its let down.
You sound exactly like Herman Li! Great video!
Thanks!
i see man of culture i see what you do to monster hunter rise
the offical artwork wasn't kicking it for me. :)
Why I feel you have lewd and nsfw covers for your games

I have frontier Z on steam deck it's awesome too but my favorite is world
@@jcc4543 world is my favorite too
I follow your recommendation on your config video and I have a problem, the scrip that you share with us about Yuzu EA works well but suddenly didn't response anymore. I check and when I get to that URL, the message appears "API rate limit exceeded for X.X.X.X" Then I change to my cellphone network and runs again. My Question is, how much time do I have to wait, until I can get access with my normal network to that yuzu EA repository" Or am I banned?
oh really? i didn't know it has a limit. i've never had that problem.
Any benchmarks on Fire Temple? I have been playing on my steam deck but when you get to the fire temple it stutters and freezes constantly making it unplayable in that area.
i think another viewer said that before. he finally did that part on pc and transferred the save back to steam deck to finish the rest of the game there.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I see. Thanks
Do you ever stuck while closing the map or change abilities? Mine alot stuck, try to force shutdown to back normally
No, haven't had that.
Hmmm yeah im definitely gonna have to redownload totk. And give it a try. 👍 oh btw I finally got Aurora going! I just put aurora exe into steam and got it going feon there.
Have fun!
Yo Mr White
Did you dump the game from a switch game cart?
I can’t find any switch games online :(
Even ye ol trusty archive
Hello. Do you also experience momentary screen freezes when exiting the map or selecting a weapon?
Haven't played the game in a while. But not back then.
I get this problem following the exact same settings and its becoming unplayable for me with about 3 to 5 seconds pause on every Menu and Weapon selection exit......
@@nellysan yes.... did you solve this problem?

Hi I have a bug that allocates too little power to yuzu after 3.5 update cpu,gpu both stay 1~2W and frame also come out low degrees
Is this a bug?
no idea. it's only happening in 3.5?
Hi mate so I. Had totk running well having followed your guide however after updating my switch firmware and product keys my game now bootloops stuck on the yuzu launching screen any ideas?
you probably got bad keys. try getting different ones.
Hello my friend can you play latest pokemon in steam os. If we can see also any improvement?
Alrighty!
Would lowering the resolution to 540p help? I am thinking of getting the Steamdeck mainly for switch emulating
It would help a bit, still have stutters. But I don't like the graphics being pixelated.
how does it compare to the switch? I know the switch also struggles with this game, is it about the same? I noticed some stutters, apart from the fps, does the stutters get better as you play and shudder get compiled?
I think I enjoyed it more on the switch overall. The stutters on steam deck get better over time as you play more as the shader cache is loaded. Switch is better but not by much in my opinion.
Can you check pokemon scarlet & violet performance on the new steam os 3.5
Ok
that monster hunter rise game art tho
Sometimes fan art is better than the official one. :)
Hi brother I have a problem with Zelda Tears of the Kingdom the game always crashes and makes me restart the console even if I'm at 30 fps can you tell me what the problem could be? I use yuzu thanks
I would try removing any mods and patches. Use the basic settings to see if the issue still occurs.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Ok thanks I'll try
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Nothing brother, I tried it smoothly and suddenly it stopped, I don't want it to be something from the steam deck, do you have any ideas? Thank you
@@Capitano10-01 does it happen with other games?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG No in fact I tried Zelda Breath of the Wild and it's fine Mario Odyssey and it's fine and others I can't explain why Zelda Tears of the Kingdom crashes but before it didn't crash suddenly now it crashes or it makes me restart the steam deck
Mine keeps crashing when I go further into the game about 10 minutes In and then just kicks me off..tried all sorts of ways but no luck..
Well try disabling mods and turning on mods one at a time. Check if it's an issue with the mods. If not, might be settings. You need to troubleshoot and pinpoint where the problem is.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG thanks, I'll try that..
Good luck!
how long do you think it will take for it to run as well as botw cemu??
Not really sure but the bottleneck here is the steam deck really. If you have more powerful hardware the game runs well on emulation right now.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG a shame… i guarantee it would run at perfect 60 if it came out natively on pc. nintendo suck for being so exclusive..
i kinda like their business model. that's how they make great first party games. look at sony, they are bringing their exclusives to pc, not sure if that is a good business move.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG i think it is when they decide to do it a few years after once it’s died down. it’s kind of like playstation users get it first serve while we have to wait to play spider-man 2. nintendo not only keep their games on their consoles, but take down cool fan content like mods and fan-games. they’re just dicks tbh
Curious to see if the new OLED can slightly improve performance.
i'm not planning to buy the oled model as i don't think there is any performance gains.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG
There are slight performance gains on AAA games.
Haven't seen anything on Yuzu yet.
I've seen slight performance gaines on every single game I've tried on the OLED deck compared to my old LCD deck.. with yuzu, unfortunately it's the same
Is this comparable to ROG Ally performance for TOTK?
I'm not sure, I don't have one. Are you considering which one to buy?
So it’s still the same months later 😂
Is everyone getting TOTK from torrents? I got BOTW and all DLC running correctly on Yuzu on steam deck, mostly 30 FPS, Im not far into the game so I think I'll play TOTK instead
botw is way better on cemu emulator fyi.
you know what exact mods you using ?
yes, i have the settings in another video which is linked in the description.
did gyroscope work on zelda steam deck?
ruclips.net/video/q-ehLPk9HXI/видео.html of course, how else do you play?
how do you get it unlocked fps?! no matter what mine is locked to 30
Check your settings, steam deck performance setting has fps cap, make sure it's not capped at 30. Or check the emulator settings.
Emulation takes some overhead so I found that the GPU clocked at 1100 Works a bit better
thanks for sharing! :)
i think modded switch oled better than steam deck is 600 dollar and switch is 540 dollar switch comes with 512 gb micro sd and steam deck with 256 gb ssd i have a pc so for indies and exculusives switch fits perfect what do u say bro
If you buy a game on switch, you don't know if switch 2 is backwards compatible. If you buy the same game on steam, you can always play it on steamos device or windows gaming handheld which is getting so popular and more and more companies are making them. Even if switch 2 is backwards compatible, what about switch 3? If the game is on switch and steam, I would always buy the steam version and I don't need to pay subscriptions to play the game online.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG your right but im gonna buy modded switch oled it have chip so you dont need to buy games im gonna spend 0 dollars to games and you can overclock switch oled to get 60 fps on zelda tears of the kingdom and rdr1 and this is such a good thing am i wrong
If those are the two main games you love, they are best played on switch oled at the moment! Go for it!
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I want a exculusive and fun switch library man i got bored of same type games thanks for help btw
Can't go wrong with either really! Happy Gaming!
Probably running better than the actual switch at this point
Not quite
Switch is locked at 30fps and dips from what I've heard so idk, haha
number wise maybe, but i've played on both and switch was a better experience.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG oh okay, hope it keeps improving!
@@Jerome-iwnl I had a switch hacked before the deck, overclocked on memory that thing packs a punch, 30fps lock on totk becomes atainable and rdr can play close to locked 60, the witcher too, I don't know how tf can a tegra k1 do that but I've seen it, console sucks on controls and ui tho, I'm so much happier discovering linux through steam os
Can't wait for the Master Mode to come out, yes a mod.
Did the announce it will?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I keep seeing on Gamebanana that it is still in development. It would be a very bad let down if they just up and stopped it. Also, it's very odd how I can easily put mods in a folder for ToTK, but for botw it takes forever like searching inyo many doors in a very long hallway.
3.5 is a godsend
it did have it's flaws back then, it seems better now when they moved it to preview.
I feel bad for buying the game on switch, where I can play it better and free on the deck :D
Stuttering and 20fps is far from "better".. SD is great but it simply doesn't have enough power for games like this on Yuzu.
@@tommwawit's got more than enough grunt, it's simply down to optimisation at this point.
@@tommwawi doubt it, the SD can run Elden Ring, so I don’t think power is the issue, it’s the emulator imo
Share your setting on yuzu please
Click the link in description for best settings video.
I don't think 20 fps is very playable ....at least in my opinion :)
Thank you for the video!
You're welcome! :)
20 FPS is the BARE MINIMUM for being playable. That's like the absolute lowest of the low you can go for a game to still be considered playable.
Anything under 20 FPS is where a game officially becomes unplayable.
Tell that to my 14 yo me, playinh skyrim on my dad's laptop with core2duo and integrated graphics, with mods for better performance, i played the whole game 9-15 fps
24 FPS is the "cinematic" mode lol
I beat this game playing locked at 40 just ab a week after release with a couple mods and using cryoutilities to increase vram to 4gb
nah, you can't get locked 40 fps can you? you were on 720p or lower? share your settings!
@GrownUpGamingGUG pretty sure. Ill check the mods used when i get home. And the settings i used were the same i use for all my games i just followed a reddit post. Sometimes i have to change from normal to high accuracy for certain games.
@@johnnymathes5215 yes, do check for me, though i doubt it's achievable. if i could make a video for totk on steam deck with locked 40 fps, my channel will blow up.
I wait for settings aswell 😊
No you’re not. You’re either straight up lying or thinking if BoTW
I heard that Ryujinx runs better
Should give it a try. Maybe later. Kinda tired of totk and botw.
It kept crashing on Yuzu for me early on, so I finally gave Ryujinx a chance and never looked back. ymmv but on PC I was getting good performance almost anywhere other than Lookout Landing
1 hour runtime and almost fully utilized?
No thanks, I would like to use my Steamdeck a little longer
good on ya.
So steam deck is still working worse. I have the switch but thought about juke emulating it on sd to get better fps
I think overall performance is better on switch still. And less hassle of course.
my game won't launch anymore
It happens when you don't play for too long😂
don't think it's that
@@itzdcx7991 lol. Try reinstalling the emulator and redo the settings, updates, mods etc.
Pfff, working like a charm since day 1 on steam deck in 4K and 60fps ...
...with moonlight + pc ;)
But seriously, IMO this game is still not playable with a lots of dibs here and there, and sub 30fps gameplay.. (that's why i'm using moonlight:)
That's one way to do it. :)
can you tell me how you achieve this? How do you configure Input settings? I can't get it to pick up my settings?
Could you do a video showing how to do this. There is no other video showing Moonlight > Emulator > Steam deck?@@GrownUpGamingGUG

do people actually do this for any reason other to than just show that you can?
To some people it's probably the only way to play.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG really? That’s so wild to me, I own both a deck and switch and i guess I should check my privilege a little, but I played the whole game on my switch and it was great, I just can’t think of any reason to do this outside of not owning a switch, if it just seems a bit wild to me that there are people with no switch, but willing to spend $70 on a Nintendo game
@@theendofthestart8179 It might not be good now. but it's progress. Let's say totk never gets ported to future systems. And in future your switch is broken.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG oh don’t get me wrong I’d totally understand it in the future, and I love emulating DS games on my pc since my ds is basically an ancient brick now lol
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I got it running at 30 fps for me with like rare stutters sometimes but nothing unplayable on my pc
Still stutters
It's emulation, it will stutter when it's compiling shaders.
If only there were more talented programmers working on Switch emulation. The Cemu is next level compared to the snails pace here.
I think the we have talented programmers working on switch emulation already. It's just the switch is harder to emulate and cemu had more time and wat fewer games. The switch has so much more games.
I'm not sure why but for the past couple months I've been trying to run the game but the performance has been absolutely atrocious even with mods like static fps, dynamic fps, no AA, even decreasing the resolution to 0.5. I've also tried preview builds of Yuzu recently since its not locked behind patreon anymore and still no dice. Frame rates only hits 30 fps when not moving. I know it isn't shader compilation either because I'll run through the same area multiple times and the stutters and slowdowns still happen in the same spots.
ruclips.net/video/uwIS3xZ28cI/видео.htmlsi=eUUZGhHgUhw2I8BV check this out, this game stutters even on the legion go so don't beat yourself.
Annoyingly runs better on the steam deck than the ally
No way. Ally is way more powerful. Check the settings, mods and versions of the game and mods.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG yes it's more powerful, but it runs Zelda totw like trash. I have all the mods, optimised settings, EA Yuzu etc.
The rog ally can play almost everything better, except for this game.
The steam deck is able to smooth out those constant hitches and freezes waaaaay more than the ally. The ally FPS and frame times are janky as hell and all over the place.
Don't get me wrong, I expect that ally optimisations will arrive at some point on Yuzu for this game and it will run it better than the steam deck, but right now it can't manage it without those constant hitches and freezes
@@samhawkes6597 oh, I'm looking for a cheap Rog ally to buy too.

You know the Switch has fps below 30 right? This is emulation on a portable PC with the potential to emulate it better in the future.
They said "its better" not "its perfect". It used to struggle to hit 20-25fps consistently.
