One of the biggest factors of any game's quality is its music. Gameplay is the biggest factor, DUH, but a memorable soundtrack will make the game all the more...well...memorable. Games like Castlevania, Megaman, and Kingdom Hearts are largely known for their stunning soundtracks. You play a Call of Duty game and what do you take from it? "I shot shit." You play a Castlevania game and what do you take from it? "I went on a fucking adventure!" Why? Gameplay is a huge factor, but if the music does not compliment the setting in an entertaining, noticeable way, there is only so much gameplay can do by itself. An "average" level can feel absolutely beyond-badass with an awesome track guiding you through the level.
Gamer's test: If you can have the same game experience with a game both with sound AND on mute, its not a very good game.

I agree that a games music is its core but modern games like call of duty and such make use of largely orchestrated monster pieces in their campaigns which are can be highly complex and really badass. The thing about this kind of music is that the melodies are really simple so they are highly memorable and easy to jam to
an ironically lively tune for a grave yard, nevertheless it's still freaking awesome

There really needs to be a DLC like there was for Plague Knight. I really want to know more about him, especially his life before he was revived as the Lord of the Dead to serve the Enchantress.
Considering how awesome Plague of Shadows was it can just be good.

In my book, Jake Kaufman is up there with Koji Kondo and Manami Matsumae (Who also composed for this game) when it comes to the greatest video game composers. This soundtrack gives me chills its so good! It may be one of the main reasons why this game is my favorite of 2014. It's presentation is amazing, the gameplay mechanics and design are brilliant, and this soundtrack is PHENOMENAL! So, tenouttaten.
What about Yoko Shimomura? She's an awesome composer too.

One of the best composed osts ever. Right as I finished the level, I knew I had to listen to this theme again.
Like a week ago, specter knights campaign's title as well as specter knights skills were revealed. It is strange because I have seen no one else mention it all. Not on miiverse not on steam and not on youtube.

One of the best tracks in the game. This, In the hall of the Usurper and An Underlying Problem. The Faithful Return and The Schemer are pretty great too.
Still can't believe how good this game was along with the great dlcs which fit together with the main story so perfectly.

it's a genre of art that illustrates that death makes all equal and usually depicts the dead from all walks of life dancing to a grave. Danse macabre = dance of death.

@@eagle3802 before SOT(Specter of Torment) La Danse Macabre was just a cool song about the dead or the Lich Yard considering when translated its called The Macabre Dance or as other people say Undead Rave I think, after playing Specter Knight's story as Donovan before Shovel of Hope and hearing Hidden by Night in the Lich Yard, La Danse Macabre just sounds like a more depressed version of Hidden by Night since obviously Specter didn't want to be there in the first place
This is maybe the best track in the game.
My favorite among the 45 or so tracks, this is pure nostalgia rush.
