i’m so impressed by how you 2 communicate. mark you are the gentle interviewer. jen has such good English & responses. they
expect these low pay jobs as teenagers. and to give family support. it’s a win win for employer/employee. only happens in Ph. illustrates the wealth disparity there.

My goodness. She had a rough childhood yet she is so kindhearted. Not sure how I got started watching your channel and another similar channel but one thing I’ve learned is that families in the Philippines are very dedicated and loving.

What an incredible woman and person your Jenn is. Her working background and her giving literally everything to her mother is a testament to her persona. She has a nice life with you now, a baby boy, and a very supportive husband who no doubt appreciates her so much. You have success with your site, have a great place on the beach, and a very pleasent existence. And, you happen to be a great interviewer. I am a senior Marine vet and would only hope I could find a Filipina like your wife. I would treasure her like gold. The very best to you both.

You are a good interviewer . If I didn't know, she was your wife. I would've thought you plucked her off the streets. You asked all the right questions. I forgot to mention when you answered my question about mosquitoes on the live stream, and when you turned the camera towards the open air window, my mouth dropped to the floor😮 . Thanks. Have a great day.

See Mark, this is why I liked the idea of Jen on your channel. The nay sayers about the age gap. Jen is young but she's experienced so many hardships already. Women from any other country would have crumbled at just the thought of going through what Jens been through. Great video.

Before I met my wife, she was working as a stay-in helper for a Chinese family in Manila. She made 5k a month and was supposed to have 1 day off a month. There were two other helpers in the house. One Yaya for two kids and a houseboy (gay) for cleaning the upstairs apartment for the brother of the boss. Her employer always had an excuse to not give her the day off because my wife had to fill in for the other two so they could have time off. I told my wife to quit and her employer told my wife she couldn't leave until she found a replacement too.

Wow, it is amazing the difference in culture with what a young person in the Philippines will do for their family versus the U.S., where many kids expect to be handed everything. I remember my dad, who was born in the 30s, said that kids in his day would turn over everything to their parents to help, but in most cases, those days are long gone. Oh, you said Jen has a family of four... doesn't she have a twin? Did she work, too?

I had a talk with a Filipina about a month ago go she was excited about getting a job. She had to buy a uniform. I asked her what she was going to be doing and how much her salary. She said first 90 days was training. But the way it’s a bakery. The first 90 days she was to work for free no pay because she was training. Then I forgot what she would make after 90 days but it was enough to starve to death on. I told her I wouldn’t accept a job like that. She worked one day then accepted my advice. She then found a job in a clothing store for 300 peso a day she said.

We complain so much in the West when so many others are suffering in developing nations. It is best to count our blessings. If we're subjected to what many in developing nations face daily, many of us would commit suicide 😂

Most Americans struggled with jobs that were low pay or no pay in years past, if you could even find a job. As for me, I worked for 5 years on my family's farm w/o pay [7 days/wk,,,12hrs/day] and worked off the farm to bring money to our family. Maybe other Americans were more fortunate.
