- Elvis' "Girls!Girls!Girls!" co-star Laurel Goodwin shares her memories from the movie set on this episode of the Gates of Graceland.
Tom Brown interviews Laurel about her time with Elvis, her television and movie career and more. Laurel shares behind the scenes stories of playing football with Elvis between filming, discussing life and philosophy with the king, teaching him how to do the twist and how she enjoys meeting fans from around the world.
"Girls!Girls!Girls!" was released in 1962 and also stars Stella Stevens, Jeremy Slate, Benson Fong and Robert Strauss. It was directed by Norman Taurog. Elvis stars as Ross Carpenter, a fisherman who wants to buy a boat that his father built. Ross is also in a love triangle with two women: night club singer Robin (Stella Stevens) and the sweet Laurel (Laurel Goodwin). The movie was filmed in Hawaii and featured Elvis' hit "Return to Sender."

This woman is sweet. It’s great to hear a story of a female who wasn’t gaulking at Elvis or saying oh he loved me or that…it was platonic friendly and genuine! Great story!
Absolutely 👍🏻 she’s awesome.
Laurel is so nice and is so right about Elvis and she even realizes that Parker wasn't the best manager for Elvis. What a sweet lady and for her to be there for Elvis, just awesome.
What an intelligent and nice lady. Sorry to hear of her recent passing. May she rest in peace.🌹
Love this so happy she cared for him I think he needed it. So sweet he asked her to be there for him I love she did that for him.
Very obvious ELVIS PRESLEY needed you more then he could say LAUREL Godwin Thank You LAUREL GOODWIN For The LOVE LAUREL ❤️.
Her comment calling out Col. Parker, was spot on & almost 5 years prior to the movie Elvis starring Austin Butler which was about that very subject.
This pic is so cute 7:08 😍!
RIP Laurel 💐
She were a nice young lady and they have much fun on the set and still now a lovely woman and speak so much lovely about Elvisforever 👌 ❤️ 🙏 RIP Elvis ❤️
I absolutely love Girls Girls Girls ❤. X
Laura thanks for "Just" being a friend to a beautiful soul of a man, its very refreshing to hear. Elvis needed someone to care about him not the image of him. thank you for this
I always loved to hear from people who have worked with him. I really like the talk.
Lovely interview. I'm glad she treated Elvis like we all want to be treated. Like a person. We think we know him but we really get to know him as a person through these interviews.

What a really lovely lady, nothing false about her. One of the best Elvis-related interviews I've seen. Tom Brown is such a great and knowledgeable interviewer.
Enjoy this interview and her honesty about Tom Parker.
Yes it was great to see that someone actually saw the truth about Parker
Wow, that was better than I expected! What a lovely lady and such superb photos.
Totally agree.
I I would love to have met Elvis not as the Entertainer but as the man I fell in love with him Etta much older age but I always admired him and I go to sleep listening to his music especially as gospel music I hope to see him one day in heaven
I can see the rapport Elvis and this sweet girl would have had,if only he could have surrounded himself with more people like this.Fantastic interview.

I had never heard of of Laurel Goodwin before BUT thought she was a cutie and one of the best co-stars in the Elvis movies. There was just something about the way she played her character. Glad to see this interview, I wondered what ever happend to her.. Thanks for sharing this interview...

Wow can you imagine that somebody wanting you to be there just for who you are nothing to bring not for any reason not for work they just want you to be there with them and for them just to have company no inside alternative motive wow why can't people be like that now for what happened to the world
I've watched all the songs he has sung and also watched all the movies of Elvis and loved each and every one of then ❤ 💙
Which one is your number 1-5?
Thanks Tom for this interview with this lovely lady. She is so humble in her disposition and on the sets of GGG she has a very demure image(not overpowering sexy but prettily attractive. Extremely lucky to be so close to Elvis.
But I think Hal Wallis must have been quite a ...WOMANIZOR...(???)!!!!
What an awesome interview- thank you 😊
What a sweet lady
In 2003 I met Cindy Pepper from Kissing Cousins at e Elvis Museum in Vegas

What an awesome person pure class
She is lovely! And lucky to work with the king!
Great down to earth lady. Nice interview. Once again affirming just how nice a guy Elvis was. As Larry King said he's never ever heard a bad word said about Elvis from those that worked or knew of him in the industry, quite incredible.
Not like that vile Stella Stevens who did Girls Girls Girls with him, she didnt like him she said,,,, I am sarcastic, I said maybe he didnt make a pass at her and she didnt like it. lol
Elvis liked ladies, because he was a gentleman> Enough said! I get what you saying Chris Clarke.
Memphis Maverick I
There was that guy who played with him in Vegas who said his first day on the job he was wearing overalls, and Elvis publicly embarrassed him because he kept saying "Who's the farmer? Who brought in the farmer?"
Amazing lady I can see why she got along with E so well xoxo

I enjoyed this interview, amazing lady still looking well after all these years.
J'ai beaucoup aimé ce film je le regarde encore de temps en temps Laure elle avait un rôle si sympathique elle était fraîche et spontané elle est encore très jolie merci pour cette interview
from this movie, the higlights for me were, the start of the movie, where Elvis looks so cool singing GGG, no one cooler, and the scene with the song return to sender, also the song walls have ears, look how slender and trim he looked then~ .
Beautiful interview… thank you! 🤍
