Kristina was a very good guest. I am 72. I feel gratitude, have purpose and try to evolve and adapt. One of my mottos at this age is self care like diet, exercise and sleep is health care.. And I am realistic enough not to believe that you have to look younger than your years. At the same time, I will do my best with what I have. 🙂
I am 64...and had my share of challenges, heartache and tragedy...divorce, job loss, death of my child. I don't really think in terms of 'happiness ', but more in terms of purpose. I have purpose in my life everyday...sometimes that translates to happiness...sometimes a feeling of accomplishment...sometimes self care...gratitude....support of and joy with loved ones. It's different every day, which is part of the allure of purpose. I also want to add that I don't worry so much about aging anymore, tho I have my skincare...I am more concerned about good health with sleep, excellent diet, exercise, etc.
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been through so much. You have a really admirable approach to life which we can all learn from. Thank you for sharing this ❤️
I am exactly your age and I absolutely love your philosophy on life, thank you for sharing ❤ I couldn’t agree with you more about the importance of having purpose every day, 270ish days of lockdown in Melbourne, Australia during the pandemic taught me well (we were the most locked down city in the world) Whatever transpires from our purpose will vary and that’s what life is about, the downs make the ups more special 😊
Love, love, love this conversation! The quote I try to live by, and the one I have put on my sons mirror so he sees it every day is: "The way you speak to yourself matters". Once people realize the power of our thoughts, our words! I am 54 years old, and have gone full circle over the last three years from trying to 'stay young' (looking), to fully embrace aging and aging gracefully. Becoming aware of what a privilege getting old is. Kristina is so right - we have devalued the importance of happiness. We have devalued the importance of authenticity. Our happiness and self worth should never be tied to anything or anyone external. Yes Clare - people read and feel your ENERGY. Everything around us is energy. Thank you for this!
Wonderful conversation as always Clare ❤ I am 64 & have worked in the fashion industry for 50 years so I am quite comfortable wearing edgy clothing and have a unique style. I’ve always found it odd that many friends and general acquaintances often say to me “you look amazing, I could never wear that” I have never been sure if this is a put down or not but after listening to Kristina I believe they are probably referring their own limiting beliefs onto me. I’ll take their comments as a compliment from now on 😊
This was fabulous darlin!!! And yes, aging is not about how you look but how you feel & how you act or think. (Although, if you look good, you feel good, so taking care of yourself is key, & then your body will take good care of you). Aging is a privilege & a growing experience in wisdom & compassion. I too, was married & divorced after 22 years, lost an adult son & dealing with an adult daughter with cancer. Lost my youngest sister to mesothelioma & watched her deteriorate for 10 years, yet still moving forward. But with trusting God & believing that all things work together for good as we grow & become the best of who we are; who GOD made us to be!. We are made in the image of our creator & hopefully are growing more like HIM everyday & less like the world. Endurance & fortitude & love will get us through. And each day is a new day to be be grateful & to help one another.. GOD bless you, Clare!
@@thehonestchannel GOD, perseverance & love for life & for each other is key for me! Keep doing what you are doing, because we all need you! Thank you!
Wonderful dialogue with Christina. I remember when I was 27, I was plagued with insecurities. Now in my mid 60's, I'm far more confident with how I look and my value. Yes, I do keep up with skin care and all that, but my focus now is on keeping myself healthy.
I just turned 42 and aging has been at the forefront of my mind for the last couple of years. It never really scared me before I turned 40 and I know that probably seems silly to some, but it's a big milestone and life definitely seems to speed up more than ever at the stage in life, especially watching your children grow so quickly and I'm often sad thinking about how short our time here really is. I needed this video so I thank you so much ❤
So glad you found this helpful! If it’s any comfort I feel much better about my age at 50 than I did at 45. I realise now that rather than worrying about the future, the best thing we can do is enjoy today ❤️
Loved this conversation! A conversation that should continue. So very true, aging isn't just about how you look or how your body works, but your relationships as well. I think it is how we view life from our age as well. I think it is a great time to redefine ourselves. Thank you for this conversation and I hope we have many more!! Thank you! ♥️🙏
I stopped using filters on Zoom and in photos. This is important so we can appreciate how we are truly aging. I am shocked when I see teenage girls filtering their photos online. It is as though the only acceptable version of you is one that is perfect and ageless.
I remember feeling so insecure as a teen. I would have definitely used filters if they’d been around then which would have likely added to my insecurity 🤷♀️ Our ‘flaws’ are so often the things that give us personality and identity.
Now that was a conversation worth having. We are all far to focussed how we look when we age when there is so much more to address as we're going through the journey that is life. And social media while often helpful doesn't necessarily make it any easier as we're constantly bombarded on how to look younger for longer, plastic fantastic et all. As somebody said before finding a purpose in life is very important and to nurture our relationships with friends and family. The focus needs to be less on how we look but what we actually contribute. Anyway, that's just my humble opinion. And yes, I do love a good skincare routine and make up but I also try not to get too obsessive about it and deprive myself of other experiences in the process. Just my humble opinion though. Have a lovely day, Clare.
I don't filter because people who know me, also know how I really look and maybe because I'm old I have grown more confident and I'm happy in my own skin 😊
Not everyone think like this, but a lot of people get influenced by people that does. Those who does could look into enneagram to learn more about yourself 😊 This is an enneagram 3 talking. Very good interview and advice!
Indeed, enneagram 3s are usually the people that want to maximise how they look, so I would believe a lot of the followers on this channel are enneagram 3. I have learned a lot about my self, when discovering that I was an enneagram 3. We take for granted that everyone are the same as us.
I want to be the oldest chronological aged person on the planet. I'll look better on my 300th birthday than I do today. This is my life goal. And the best part is, it never gets boring 😁
Assigning a worth to humans without recognising that their worth comes from the fact they are created by God who is the creator of their worth too is like putting a cherry on top a pile of poop. This is the first conversation on this channel that made me cringe. Otherwise I am a fan of the HC.

I was the same in my 20s and 30s. Healthy positive aging should definitely be our focus 👍

Thank you Jodylynn. Defining what ‘aging well’ looks and feels like is one of the big questions of our time ❤️

good work clare !
I think, feel like I did at 35, then I look in the mirror! This is where the disjoint is ❤️
It’s so true. We want to look like we feel!
