maybe a tutorial how to make a banner or thumbnail or whatever ultra HD? Seems like when I see portfolios, the images are really high quality.
When you have a mask, Filter>Other>Minimum. I use this to remove the outlines, and its non-destructive (in a sense), cause it effects only the mask (no need to rasterize the image).

Please, never rasterize things. Never is a little extreme, but it can have some serious permanent effects. Duplicate layers.
