one of my favorite songs of all time. thanks for posting
@shawno66 Hi Shawn! One of my all time favorites too! Thanks for your comment.
This song should be on the next gold disc launched into deep space.
I Agree!
This song…😳
One of the greatest rock songs EVER written. Start to finish.
Thanks for covering this.
Couldn't agree more! This one was fun to do 👍🏼
This song should be on the next gold disc launched into deep space.
One of my absolute favorite songs!!!
Awesome! It truly is a classic.
Marc that is absolutely sensational! I have loved REO Speedwagon for so long, and just bought my first Nord (electro 6) and slowly discovering how to use it! Your video is exactly the right level and pace for what I need. Thank you :-)
Glad to hear this Steve! Enjoy your journey and your Electro 6! It's a terrific keyboard and still one of the main boards I bring to every gig. In fact, I use it exclusively if I'm not also having to play key bass because the 61 key version (the one I have) is so super light, it makes gig setup and teardown a breeze.
That rocked! Bravo!
@blair8225 Hey Blair! Thanks for your comment. Don't forget Part 2 if you get the time or need details on how to play the solo part: ruclips.net/video/fBqRD6olMV0/видео.htmlfeature=shared REO Speedwagon is the best!!!
Perfection; Congrats and Thank You.
Thank you @orlando696 - appreciate you stopping by!
Great job as usual!

Thanks Jas! The plan is to release on Sunday (tomorrow).
@@barfingobummergo Hi Jas. Here is the link to the tutorial part: ruclips.net/video/fBqRD6olMV0/видео.html . Thanks for watching!
Marc, nice song and nice analysis. The 888 is Jimmy Smith's setting.
Good to know that 888 is the Jimmy Smith setting. I hadn't researched it that far but I hear about the "jimmy smith" reference a lot when it comes to drawbars etc. Now it's going to be easy to just know that 888 is the setting for that. You guys teach me so much! 👍
My Fav....along with Santana
Good Stuff - ya, one of my favorites too! Thanks for the comment...
Great song. I always played the organ solo on my Roland JX3P, and the piano parts on my Ensoniq ESQ1. I still have those boards and still play them. My only issue is I wish I had that great B3 sound.
mrlionel1965 - Thanks for sharing your setup. I used to own many Roland keyboards and an Ensoniq Mirage back in the day too (way back). Yes, it's hard to deny the B3 sound coming from a Nord keyboard. Nice to know others other there have played this solo too.I just learned it last week so that makes me a newbie to it. 😄 Thanks for watching!
Oh yeah, I have been playing it for years. I am actually a guitarist in our band, but I double on keys also. I always loved this song. Great song by a great band!
@@mrlionel1965 I love to see guitarists double on keys. "There's never enough good keyboardists to go around" 😄
Nice one! Good job, thanks! You're allowed to remove the "Download" sticker!
Hey Paul! Thanks for watching. Ya, leaving the download stickers is now a "thing." I managed to remove them off the NE5 I believe but left them up everywhere else. Not sure why exactly but if I sell them down the road, the new owner will enjoy the stickers, and they'll be further convinced that it's in "mint" condition as a result. haha!
@@MyKeysToMusicFunny, enjoy your videos, thanks for the effort!
@@Paul-bm2jy Thanks for watching!
They're not doing taste of any town this year. One of my bands is finally doing a gig on august 22. Yay!
Wow great! Ya, people are reporting that gigs are slowly coming back (a good thing). I assume they don't 'expect you to sing with a face mask? 🤪
@@MyKeysToMusic just harmonizing. We were in the garage and neighbors came over for our last 2 rehearsals with lawn chairs and beer.
ah, I see
My roland vr-09 b3 is great
Hello @Ebacklin, there is a lot to love about the Roland VR-09. It sounds great and I like the additional features, such as the USB memory and the "D-Beam". Nord upped the game on the Nord Stage 4 by incorporating both physical drawbars enhanced by accompanying drawbar LED lights. I think they took this page from the Yamaha playbook, but it is a welcome benefit. They didn't change the organ engine sound however and it's probably due for some enhancements. I, for one would like to have a stronger rotary effect when the speaker is in the slow setting. Enjoy your Roland. (For most of my life, I was a Roland guy 100% and still love Roland products today). I switched to Nord for live gigging as I find the platform very easy to use with minimal menu diving. But there is always a place in my heart for Roland/Boss products. In fact, my newest little guy is the Roland JD-08 boutique which I think are just fantastic offerings in a tiny package.
Ok heres another one . Soul sacrifice santana. Gregg rolies solo from 2016 reunion with michael shrieve and Michael caraballo on congas. I think las Vegas. I've got the whole concert but Gregg goes crazy on the solo. Love Gregg as if you cant tell.
Oh definitely. And he has a great voice too. (Thinking early Journey when I say that).
@@MyKeysToMusic His organ solo on 2016 las Vegas on soul sacrifice. He pounds those chords.
Just listened to this. Great stuff. Sounds like he's playing 6th chords towards the end there which gives it that full sound. Very effective.
@@MyKeysToMusic hurts my wrist just hearing it.
@@MyKeysToMusic have any idea what hes doing there?
I wish I could find a b3 sound on my korg and yamaha. The yamaha comes close when I play let's go crazy but it's a little too much church. :)
If you have the option to adjust the drawbars on either of these keyboards, you can possibly take some of the "church" out of the equation. If drawbar settings are an option for either of those boards, you'll want to pull out the first three drawbars only to get started. Add a little drive and then turn on the rotary speaker effect if you can. Nord makes all this easy and it hasnt' been until recent releases where the other manufactures have these kinds of options out of the box (I think). But boy, the competition is really heating up around this notion of having an all-in-one organ/piano instrument like an Electro. The Yamaha CY61 is what I'm talking about mostly: ruclips.net/video/LzAZCzpoSik/видео.html
But the older keyboards don't necessarily come with drawbars so the organ is pre-set with whatever you get. And yes, that means at times a little too much "church" in the sound. 😜
Great sound. I wanna include your organ solo on my cover of this song videos along with other musicians and I'll be playing the guitar parts. U ok with that?
Thanks @Grizz Feel free to use it and if you can provide credits in the description or on screen that would be ideal. Are you going to release this on your RUclips channel?
@@MyKeysToMusic Yeah I will, it'll take a few weeks as I'm still working on the solos. Thank you mate
@@grizz1887 Sounds good! Do drop a line when it comes out if you can. Would love to see it.
@@MyKeysToMusic U betcha
Do you know anyone who has the Yamaha dx230 or korg r3 with vocoder
No, unfortunately, I do not know.
Do you know golden country
Hi ebmurray! Thanks for your question. I just listened to the song really for the first time since your comment. It goes way back. Interesting song - almost has a feel of progressive rock or early journey a bit. Lots of vintage sounds. I don't have this on my list to attempt to replicate or discover further at this point and I don't think it's going to make the cut - sorry! 🙏🏽
@@MyKeysToMusic it's a great song that I played with one of the bands I'm in. Did I ask you if you know busboys "the boys are back in town" from the movie 48 hours. Having trouble with the intro chords. Its C Major blues. Thanks.
Thanks! I kind of spent a little time on that intro because I became curious. Have a look at my interpretation of that intro here if you haven't already figured it out. @@MyKeysToMusic that's how I heard it as well. I think the first 3 are spot on. Thanks.
@@MyKeysToMusic I know the nord has some great hammond sounds. I hear it in alot of classic rock including boston kansas styx and of course santana
You should talk 90% less and Play 90% more.........LMAO....
Haha - Well, this wouldn't be the first time I heard that... I guess I should start a podcast so I can talk to my heart's content. 😆
