All claim the Point 8 speaker 8 inch woofer sounds the best. Every 8 inch woofer that I ever heard sounded loose bass like a 8 in subwoofer, * inch dont have the midrange sound. 8 inch dont blend with the tweeter, That big wide cabinet dont image as well. The big cabinet doesnt sound sas good as a smaller cabinet. I bet the drivers arent ther better paper drivers. I bet this isnt the best sounding 1st order crossover speakers. A speaker with ports sound best.

yet it is thru his own ears and it will tell all and nothing. Measurement are missing and they are the only one that can make you understand real differences between speakers and your actual listening room. That should be hi-fi. ASR reviews are definitely way better and let understand how crap rp600m are, while they are praised here and there on marketing youtubers.

Thanks again CAM! Was hoping you would group these speakers for a review. Best selection for value I think. Competition, look away, try not to cry... For us poor people with caviar taste, there are great values and great products for sale if you know where to look. And much more BS also... Save money and heart ache, watch Cheap Audio Man Randy. I run Elac DBR62's with tube/class D amp and am very happy. Don't miss B&W's at all. Might like a powerful tube amp in the near future...

Love Emotive, their customer service is second to none. From pre-ordering the PT1 preamp (based on CAM review) to support with technical issues.

Debut B6 / UniFi B5 owner. Linton owner. Criton 1TDX builder. The MoFi sound interesting, but I think all my sonic bases are covered. Saving over the next decade for a pair of Cornwalls. From the reviews and experiences I’ve seen from across the interverse, I believe they will deliver endgame. Thanks Randy for upping your game - your videos are looking great and the content continues to get better! Congrats on hitting 190k!

If you had to compare the 1tdx vs the Lintons, what would be the differences (pros / cons maybe) from your perspective?

    • @4thewinir344

@@danielh12345 The Criton have a much larger presence than their dimensions would suggest. They are effortless with bass control and texture, if that makes sense. I used to feel the Elac Debut B6 had a similar warm and full presentation, but after doing a cold Turkey swap from B6>Criton, wow did the difference show immediately. The Criton are a different level.
The Lintons are more defined in the midrange if I were to compare, and the bass is less impressive vs. Criton. Female vocals do seem to sound more present through the lintons. Chris Cornell’s live album played through the Linton is especially moving and would be more ‘in the room’ present with the Linton’s. Their larger box lends to a larger sound, but it’s frankly not as polished and space-filling as the Criton. It’s contrary to my brain looking at a larger speaker, but closing my eyes, the Criton seem larger. I think it stems from the magic 7” CSS paper cone woofer and the high end crossover. Hope this helps!

@@danielh12345 No problem-it’s one comparison I was hoping Mr. CAM would tackle as he was the reason I took the leap in building the DIY Criton

@4thewinir344 building speakers is so fun. I've built 2 pairs of Overnight Sensations so far, one for me, one for my brothers birthday. Of course his are finished slightly better cos they were the second pair, probably also cos I wanted them to be as close to perfect for him as I could get lol.

I have the Lintons and have been super happy! If I were to upgrade, I would probably try something with a totally different sound signature like some Magnapans but that’s just me

Comment for the algorithm (and the 200k sub extravaganza). Always enjoy your reviews - they're a large part of why there's a Wiim Mini feeding and SMSL SU1 in the office setup 😁 (for completeness, SU1 is going into a NAD 302 integrated driving Mission 731s on Kanto stands..)
