I would pretty much agree with his ranking: Godfather - Papa Shango - Nation Kama - MMA Kama - Goodfather .... but I guess it would be closer between Godfather and Papa Shango for me, because Papa Shango was a damn cool character that should have done so much more.
Charles is the type of person that needs to be one of the public faces for marijuana legalization. He’s intelligent, down to earth and well spoken. His message of “This is what it has done for me…” is perfect. And I’m saying this as a person who has never smoked in my life.
The reaction he got when he came back for the Rumble a few years ago was a better reaction than a lot of people get nowadays and that says so much on how entertaining he is 💯💯
I remember a Friday night watching smackdown my grandma comes in, Godfather is coming out on TV she watches his whole entrance looks at me smiles and says "I like him" (my church going grandma liked the godfather)!!!
Thanks Chris for the entertainment that you bring us. I've been subbed and watching for years. I'm from the US but I travel internationally a lot. Just in the last 6 years I've lived in Tokyo,Osaka, Amsterdam and currently in Berlin and they're all incredible cities but I do feel homesick sometimes as well as lonely since I move around so much it's hard to make any type of serious relationships so I'm often on my own. Watching your long form interviews helps me to feel as if others are in the room with me and it's comforting. Thanks for that.
CVV is always on point. You're top notch and the envy of us die hard wrestling fans that grew into .... well, grown man children such as myself :) You're living all of our dream brother
Supply & Demand 🙏 the attitude era was the absolute best and they'll never come close to the memories created in that time. I show my kids the old shows and now they won't watch modern WWE.
Awesome guy, he's just such a class act, you know he was cool if Taker was riding w him...even my Dad, who is the furthest thing from a wrestling fan, even wouldn't let me watch as a young kid, I started being allowed around the time he is doing Godfather and even my pops would say "Pimpin ain't easy!" Me n my lil brother used to laugh so hard!! Even at the mall if we saw a pretty girl Dad would say it... Thanks so much for the memories Chuck!! Edit: Forgot to say, thanks Chris!
The entire roster in the Attitude Era was Hall of Famers. Godfather, Taker, Kane, Rock, Stone Cold, HHH, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Hardeys, Dudleys, Edge and Christian, Golddust, Booker T, Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio. The list goes on and on. 😯
The Godfather character was over to a level just below the Rock and Stone Cold. That guitar lick would hit and the pop was INSTANT! "Come get on the ... HOOOOOOOOO TRAIN!"
Great guy who has seen it all. I didnt watch Wrestling when he became the Godfather, but Papa Shango was one of the most mysterious things i had seen those times... and even my friends who have nothing to do with wrestling remember The Undertagker, Bret Hart AND Papa Shango!!! And this really means a thing. Thank you Charles Wright.
Godfather was always one of my favorite mid card acts. This interview might've just made him one of favorites of all time. Definitely looking to support his business out in L.V. when I get out there.
It would’ve been interesting to hear whether Godfather and Owen discussed the repel stunt that day and what, if anything, Owen said about doing it. I get why you wouldn’t want to venture into that kind of territory though..... Great interview, as always.
He’s the best at this for sure. First time I’d seen godfather asked about over the edge, even though he was booked in pretty much the most famous ‘non-match’ of all time that night. Chris nailed it.
Godfather was one of my favorite wrestlers back in the day. I was a kid so I don't really remember what clicked about him, he was just fun to watch and listen to. And after all these years, he is still so fun to listen to. Wish he stuck around for a bit longer back then but I guess his gimmick wasn't PG enough for the day (which doesn't make sense, sex and violence were there in abundance even during the Ruthless Aggression Era).
Just came to me that I've actually seen this guy live... I watched him challenge Bret Hart for the heavyweight title as Papa Shango, at a house show, with the house lights on for the whole show, because during one of the earlier matches the lights kept exploding and showering the arena with glass. Hacksaw Jim Duggan was wrestling (against IRS I want to say???) and gave a big "Hooooooooo" each time a light blew up.
Chris I love your interviews. I have an idea for you, why not do a short series on legendary jobbers - you could maybe interview Brooklyn Brawler or Barry Horowitz. Would be really interesting to see where these guys are in life now.
Get Rey Mysterio , Paul Heyman , Lita , Hardy , Edge , Randy also on the show. I would love to hear stories and career retrospective from these legend. I am sure they would have lot of things to tell. Please get them
I remember watching an old Royal Rumble where he took off all of his pimp clothes, got in the ring only to be thrown out, put all of his clothes back on, and walked of. I thought (and still think) it was really funny and cool. Also, like 10 minutes in and I’m hooked. He’s a really good storyteller.
Chris, I’ve always marked out at stuff that isn’t wrestling related, but that I can still connect to wrestling. Like, for example, if I see a license plate with any wrestling letters such as: WWE, TNA, AEW, RVD, DMD, EC3, Etc, I mark out. I saw a CVV tag today and I marked out. 😅
Do you think you can make a video about Frostee Moore aka Mandy that was with Too Cool and Victoria during the fall 2000 with the WWF or get the people to find her so she can respond after a long time?
I'm interested in learning what city he is from in Northern California. Everywhere I've looked online has said he was born in Las Vegas, even though in this he says "I'm from Northern California"
Thanks for checking out this conversation! 🚂
Rank Charles Wright's characters from best to worst below.
I would pretty much agree with his ranking: Godfather - Papa Shango - Nation Kama - MMA Kama - Goodfather .... but I guess it would be closer between Godfather and Papa Shango for me, because Papa Shango was a damn cool character that should have done so much more.
Charles is great but the dude doesn't need to ask if you know who Bruce Prichard is. Little insulting.
Papa Shango, Goodfather, Godfather, Nation Kama etc
Papa Shango, The Godfather, Nation Kama, MMA Kama, The Goodfather.
Can you mark the videos/timestamp them by topics??
The Godfather is a good dude! Genuine and a awesome advocate for bud. When I get back to Vegas gotta look him up n hit the smoke train
Athletes in general can benefit from cannabis use instead of opioids. Glad he is getting the word out cause that dude is still built!
Charles is the type of person that needs to be one of the public faces for marijuana legalization. He’s intelligent, down to earth and well spoken. His message of “This is what it has done for me…” is perfect.
And I’m saying this as a person who has never smoked in my life.
What a great interview!!
So glad to see Godfather doing well.
He’s awesome!
@@ChrisVanVliet DO A PART 2 ...PLEASE
The reaction he got when he came back for the Rumble a few years ago was a better reaction than a lot of people get nowadays and that says so much on how entertaining he is 💯💯
And how unentertaining the others are.
I remember a Friday night watching smackdown my grandma comes in, Godfather is coming out on TV she watches his whole entrance looks at me smiles and says "I like him" (my church going grandma liked the godfather)!!!
And just think if it debuted today on TV it would be the younger people that would clutch their pearls.
Your Grandma's generation rocked!
Granny probably heard The Godfather talking about smoke and went out back and rolled herself a fatty. For her arthritis, of course.
Thanks Chris for the entertainment that you bring us. I've been subbed and watching for years. I'm from the US but I travel internationally a lot. And thank YOU Angel!
Charles Wright's wife came up with the Godfather gimmick, man easily found a keeper and a genius all in one lol
CVV is always on point. You're top notch and the envy of us die hard wrestling fans that grew into .... well, grown man children such as myself :) You're living all of our dream brother
Thanks Steve!
Greatest closing to an interview ever! Thanks Chris Van Vliet!!
Haha The Godfather is awesome!
Yessir he is! You are just as awesome! Could I have an autograph? ✍️
Love this one. The Godfather was so entertaining.
Supply & Demand 🙏 the attitude era was the absolute best and they'll never come close to the memories created in that time. I show my kids the old shows and now they won't watch modern WWE.
A really fun interview - The Godfather is iconic! Wrestling was so much more entertaining back then!
Im so happy for this one thanks godfather thanks cvv. Cvv Interviews, questions, excitement, guests. Everything is top tier
I really enjoy your interviews but none had me smiling so much like this one. Keep up the amazing work!
this was awesome. sooo much more respect for The Godfather. i loved the end. you are living your dreams, Chris!!

Smoking while watching this interview..We all pray 5 years, Godfather, awesome interview with an OG! CVV as always, GREAT job!
It’s The Godfather!!!
What an awesome dude! Has such good vibes. Love him!
Loving the new studio, sound quality is amazing. Keep up the great interviews.
This is most def one of the best you’ve ever done. Kudos to you and thanks to the Godfather!
The Godfather character was over to a level just below the Rock and Stone Cold. That guitar lick would hit and the pop was INSTANT!
"Come get on the ... HOOOOOOOOO TRAIN!"

47:56 Literally got on my feet and started cutting that promo right along with him! 😄
"HOOOOOOOOOO TRAIN!" 👱♀️👱🏻♀️👱🏼♀️🚆 🚉 🚄 🚋
Coolest interview
Papa Shango was one of my favorites as a kid
I could of listened to him for hours more. What a life.
I loved the RTC entrance theme: I used it in CAW for all my character on Smackdown game just to annoy the piss out of all my friends
One of your best interviews!!
The ad underneath this video was for the movie 'The Godfather.' 🤣
Great interview. So happy i clicked. Love the Godfather. 🫡
This guy was one of the best in the attitude era haha man I’m glad I grew up in that era
Rewatching the attitude era atm currently on nov 9 1998 Charles what a legend !!!
Godfather was always one of my favorite mid card acts. This interview might've just made him one of favorites of all time. Definitely looking to support his business out in L.V. when I get out there.
Kama the supreme fighting machine had a great look.
Charles Wright will always be a legend, 'nuff said
As always love these ! Keep them coming !
CVV does it again! Loved this interview. The Godfather doesn't age at all! I need a trip to Vegas n smoke one wit the OG
I remember watching the slow evolution from Kama to The Godfather while he was still part of The Nation. Such a great character.
That ending was awesome got chills GF your the man
When he did that rumble return and they shouted out that he owner cheetahs and i think it was JBL said "Godfather's gone Legit" that was fun
You are Great at what you do Chris !!!
]
Man I love This dude so much
The Godfather was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up
One of those interviews that just drew me in 100% .. Hall of fame talent and personality.
Godfather's story on bullying Steven Richards stood out to me.
What's up Ken ! Long time no see ...
Thank you Chris Van Vliet for all the intelligent, entertaining, engaging and inspiring work you do. 👏🏻
It would’ve been interesting to hear whether Godfather and Owen discussed the repel stunt that day and what, if anything, Owen said about doing it. I get why you wouldn’t want to venture into that kind of territory though.....
Great interview, as always.
Love watching Chris brings back that old Tuesday night titans feel. He should show their old matches as well. That would be sick. Lol
Papa Shango was cool as balls.
Loved the godfather it would be awesome if he had a podcast
This was fantastic thank you so much for this interview and I definitely rolled a big fatty for the pimp daddy 🍃 🚂
Mr. Wright's experience with cannabis is identical to my own. I whole heartedly believe that it makes me a better person.
Let's go! Ealy gang! Love everything you're putting out, Chris. Such fluent, well-thought questions.
He’s the best at this for sure. First time I’d seen godfather asked about over the edge, even though he was booked in pretty much the most famous ‘non-match’ of all time that night. Chris nailed it.
Anothet great interview Chris, keep going, brother👍✌
I met Charles once and he was cool, I walked up to him and quoted his lines
Mann God Father seem soo chill …. 😂😂

what about Ron Simmons and The Rock? He needs to finish all of Nation Of Domination.
I like to remember this guy as the "Goodfather."
Imagine hating pimps but the getting over like crazy in wrestling as a pimp. Life still writes the best stories.
Dopest outro ever
6:01 man this story is nuts!!
Good stuff
That Poppa Shango voice is still terrifying. I don't care if I am grown now 😂😂😂
He sounded just like Rock when he said that shit 😂😂
Legend
Forgot to like the first time......clicked back again to like and decided watch the whole damn thing again 😂
Best wrestling license plate I ever saw was PPLSLBW. I didn’t get it until I saw The Rock plate frame.
When was this interview? Didn't The Godfather recently do a rumble match(he was immediately eliminated)?
Pimpin ain't easy, CVV
It's time once again to hop aboard the hooooo train‼️
It's time once again, to come on board the... Hooooooo... Train!
Do you think you can make a video about Frostee Moore aka Mandy that was with Too Cool and Victoria during the fall 2000 with the WWF or get the people to find her so she can respond after a long time?
Crazy to think this man 12 years younger then Vince McMahon
Charles Wright needs to start his own cannabis themed tv show.
I'm interested in learning what city he is from in Northern California. Everywhere I've looked online has said he was born in Las Vegas, even though in this he says "I'm from Northern California"
"Once again, its time, for EVERY-BODY..."
I so wish he'd come back to wrestling as Shango with the Fiend
Ok!
godfather was so high that he forgot which name wwe had at the time
It's time, once again, for everybody to listen up for...IIIIIIIIIINNNNNNSIIIIIIIGGGGHHHTTTTT!
🙌
I love the GodFather
Awesome.. Could have been a bit longer
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
The dude has his own weed strain! 🤣
Insane Godfather 😋 id expect that to be real good sh*t
Nice
I wonder why we never got papa shango vs undertaker
I started watching when I was 9 myself.
The Right to Censor was the beginning of the PG era. They were so annoying. But was a creative way to explain the new direction
Chris one day we are gonna sit down and have a chat 💬
I look forward to it!
