RIP to both of these great guys. I had the pleasure of knowing one of them very personally because he is my father, David Williams. The record label (Kichelle) was named after my sister and I...Kimberly and Michelle.
well, thanks to your Dad for giving so much listening and dancing pleasure; I just loved this record when it came out and I'm sure I'm not alone. Far as I'm concerned it's right up there with any of the great tracks by Chic as far as groove and dance-floor appeal are concerned. "Don't Hold Back" is very much alive in my collection of great tunes!
This is crazy!! I used to listen to this song when i was a young chold. Couldnt never find it!!! Ever! Then i was watching a show on youtube called the Bass Mint, i kept hearing the name James Jamerson..finally saw his interview and heard him say, i had a hit song called "Dont Hold Back" and i almost fell out my chair!!!! I even remember the record art. This has really mad my day! Your father David Williams has really played a part in my life, i too am a musician as was inspired by this song!!! Blessing to you and your entire family. Wow!!!!!!! I cant put into words what just happened!
Cool Michelle !!!! Love all the work from your Dad. Always when Billie Jean or Stand back (Stevie Nicks) comes on radio, I say HI to him :-) Love & peace to you from Switzerland

Michelle, I just wanted to let you know that I loved your fathers masterful playing very much. His playing created the music that many of millions of people love, and will remember for all of the time we remain on this planet. I'm so sorry for your loss, as I know it had to be very hard on you're family. God Bless You, and Many Regards!!
Such a quality tune from 1979. A real disco classic! Love the fact this reached 21 on the billboard hot 100 in 1978 and then reached 33 in the uk top 40 in early 1979. Underated and superb!

I had this song stuck in my head today. Couldn't really remember the lyrics, so I was having a nightmare trying to find it. I heard it on the radio not so long ago, but there was a nagging feeling that I'd heard it somewhere else, as well. I thought it might be The Warriors, but I've got the soundtrack, and it's not on that. Then I remembered it was in the game, in the disco where you're trying to find a big fuck off hat. So relieved to find it. Now I can get on with my life.
Rare is correct. I bought in on the standard 45 when it came out. This needed to be longer. It's the main reason giant 45 were made in the first place. Us DJ's and the people screamed for long versions of great tracks. Thanks!
a one hit Disco group lost to the ages..but oh what a great hit!, there should have been a 12inch extended version of this song in 1978 ? strangely there was not, THANKS for this longer version well worth waiting for good job

One of the baddest jams from the 70's. I'm a guitar and bass player, and the difficulty of the riffs those guys played is stellar!
