Pyre Spirit Cyborg Noun A person whose physiological functioning is aided by or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic device. Source: www.dictionary.com/browse/cyborg
Magnus Amundsen Well there's your mistake; dictionary.com uses the Webster's dictionary, which is a notoriously imprecise dictionary. I advise you use oxforddictionaries.com and consult the Oxford English Dictionary, as it's the gold-standard for English. The OED correctly defines cyborg as; "A fictional or hypothetical person whose physical abilities are extended beyond normal human limitations by mechanical elements built into the body." "Built into the body" is a necessary part of what a cyborg is. Daleks are sealed inside personal tanks, and thus are not cyborgs. Their body is fully organic. Cybermen, however, have their bodies completely replaced by technology, and are cyborgs.
3:07 you can see how nervous the Doctor get here when they propose an alliance. In all fairness if they did join up together they would have defeated the Doctor with pure ease.
This was one of my favorite episodes. When I was a child, the Daleks and Cybermen gave me very bad vibes, compared to other aliens / enemies. In addition, especially in the Castilian dubbing, they both had such distorted voices that I didn't understand any of their dialogue at all. Even now, for time I put x1.50 of speed to be able to see them faster, in its episodes I have to put normal speed and give it several laps to understand everything (in Spanish). Apart from the fact that its history is very interesting. I remember a scene from an episode where two Daleks start to talk and doubt their actions.
Still brilliant they way they did the Dcotor's reaction when he first sees the Daleks again. Doesn't say anything, but the single expression and body language says it all.

It also implies they do need the other two alive, which is true
It's a good, and chilling, line
Lines like that show just how well Davies understood the Daleks.
Much more than Moffat and Chibnal. (Though Chibnal is better with them than Moffat)
I love the subtle touch that since the Cybermen don't possess emotions and Daleks do (despite being limited to hate and fear) it was the Daleks who slipped up and identified themselves when both parties wanted the other to do so first.

I wish we had more 'villains against villains' moments in Doctor Who. Or maybe there have, and I'm just not aware of them. There's just something so great about two of Doctor's biggest enemies having a roasting competition.
1:41
This, this right here, this is easily half of what made the Daleks so scary.
All in the Doctor’s reaction. Immediately Ten looks utterly shook.
If the Doctor looks terrified, you know that even if there’s a way to live, so many are screwed.
It’s all in the acting, direction and writing, and that was beyond key to my enjoyment of the show as a kid.

+Magnus Amundsen Daleks aren't cyborgs, they're fully organic just sealed inside small tanks
Could be argued that the tank replaces what would otherwise be their body, but I agree.
Pyre Spirit Cyborg
Noun
A person whose physiological functioning is aided by or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic device.
Source: www.dictionary.com/browse/cyborg
Magnus Amundsen
Well there's your mistake; dictionary.com uses the Webster's dictionary, which is a notoriously imprecise dictionary.
I advise you use oxforddictionaries.com and consult the Oxford English Dictionary, as it's the gold-standard for English.
The OED correctly defines cyborg as; "A fictional or hypothetical person whose physical abilities are extended beyond normal human limitations by mechanical elements built into the body."
"Built into the body" is a necessary part of what a cyborg is.
Except for the time they did like 3 seasons later and forgot to account for the universe nearly ceasing to exist.

Dalek: You are superior in only one respect
Rory: What is that?
Dalek: You are better at dying
Rory: Yeah, fair enough
How many Dr. Who fans flipped out in excitement to see the Cybermen and Daleks in the same episode and fight.
“You didn’t need to kill him”
“He didn’t need to live either”
“Ah touché”
Still brilliant they way they did the Dcotor's reaction when he first sees the Daleks again. Doesn't say anything, but the single expression and body language says it all.

Me and my buddy agreed that this is along with Bad Wolf and The Parting Of The Ways are RTD’s strongest finales from his first era, the reason I love Doomsday so much is because it’s a three part battle between the Daleks, the Cybermen and The Doctor and 10 is completely stuck in the middle trying to stop both armies while also saving Earth AND Rose and her family, the balance Russell was able to get with this entire story is honestly amazing and is the number one choice for me every time I’m asked which finale is the best from Modern Who
