I personally own a 2003 VX200. It is not made for fuel economy. Rather, for reliability and timeless looks. It's an old AUV that you can park beside newer car models without being conscious around them. Maintenance-wise, it does not ask for too much. I love the the 1RZ engine as opposed to the over praised 2L diesel engine maybe because I'm a petrol fanatic myself.
Look is definitely timeless!! Much like 70s-90s Mercs which while doesn’t look modern, doesn’t look outdated unlike the weird roundy Mercs of the early 2000s! Glad Toyota made the Revo boxy hehe
The Revo was replaced by the Innova as in other countries, both are called the Kihang. The Avanza is a separate line which was then replaced by the Rush
well my dad's first car same 1RZ engine. Just passed 600,000km last month. No engine rebuild. Timing chain replaced. Filters,Fluids,Oil, Suspension and Clutch only replaced. No problems after all. It still runs 150 km/h.

People too much bothered about the gas engine consumption without considering overall maintenance in the long run. Gasoline engines generally require less maintenance than diesel engines. Parts for diesel engines are generally more expensive. People are too short sighted. Apart from that gas engines are more environmentally friendly than diesel engines.
I own a 2004 GSX MT Model. Very Reliable and Durable. Ride is solid. Though the gas consumption is really a headache. But I am willing victim of this, as long as it does not give up on me, especially on heavy traffic, long drives, fully loaded trips, and even going up on twisty mountain roads. Aircon is cold. Still impresses me till this day
That’s really the major improvement of the Revo over the FX, the aircon. Kulang talaga the the coldness of the FX eh. Also for gas mileage, I’d rather take the hit at the gas station kaysa naman sa talyer 😁😁

It was strange for Toyota to offer only the 4-speed AT on their 1.8 and 2.0 EFI variants while the 2.4 diesel sticked with the MT. Even the rare and top of the line VX240D introduced in 2004 was only available in MT. I suspect they did this on purpose as they're already aware about the sh*tty gas mileage of the petrol variants from the start and they don't want to lose sales of them. So they purposely only offered the diesel in MT. If you wanted convenience, go for the AT but you have to settle for the petrol. Despite this, most of the Revos I see today are in 1.8 EFI petrol. You will rarely see diesels as their biggest issue is the noise and smoke belching. In Baguio, you can still see Revos serving as taxis today and almost all of them are diesels because they're well aware of the petrol variants being gas guzzlers. Although they are now gradually being phased out in favor of Innovas and Avanzas. Toyota also offered an option for leather wrapping the steering wheel and the door trims for the 2nd facelift version (2003-2005) for the GLX variants and above.
hahaha you got it right with the lightness, i got to hold the diesel variant when i was helping my uncle with buy and sell and the lightness is an issue when it comes to steep uphills especially on a rainy day. i remember driving through the rain once and i couldnt climb a particular incline cause the rear was too light and the tires were skidding, i had to move the jack and toolbox on the back and deflate the tires abit just so i could get traction on the rear..
that or maybe our roads werent as conditioned back then here in benguet especially for the rainy days 😂 locally in benguet we have a colorum garage operation here that use auvs to transport people when jeeps stop operating or when their houses are far from the main roads of jeeps. when someones house is on a steep hill they give the passenger to the ones that have the 97 fx, innova or adventure as their weight is more distributed for the inclines, but so far roads have been renovated here and the revo dosent seem to have problems anymore :) hopefully i can hold one again so i could give it another chance

Puro lang kasi malakas "daw" wala naman silang experiment o actual testing. Plsss sana may gumawa tnx po in advance.

Expressways naman 1/4 tank consumption for 120 km ride so approximately 8-9km/L fuel economy. Makain siya sa gas tbh. Engine-wise, malakas siya in a way na kaya niyang umabot ng 60-80 km/h kahit low yung rpm, mga 2.
@@KyleLiongCars For the Record, My family used to own a REVO G (Gas Powered) w/ the foglights beside the headlights as a family vehicle. Sadly, we had to sell it to buy a base innova (second facelift).

My advice for revo holders especially the ones built before the 2010 era with gas engines, based on my experience, DO NOT run it on a puddle 😂while it has a decent lift it dosent take a big puddle to wet the carbeurator or ecu, been there done that when i borrowed one to run errands during a typhoon (ondoy or pepeng? i forgot) and i had to thaw the damn thing in a shell station for a whole day when i ran a damn puddle in a stoplight , further diagnosis told me its either the carb or ecu that got wet, couldnt confirm as it was night by the time the water dried and icould drive it home 😂 its a nice car, pang harabas siya na sinasabi natin but its no boat 😂😂
@@KyleLiongCars no it still drove like normal after that so it was a high chance it was the carb that got wet, but just to be sure i took it to a shop after a week and i was right cause they checked and cleaned the carbeurator, other than that everything was fine
@@KyleLiongCars nah they can. as long as you take care of the car it will always take care of you - its all in the maintenance :) the only difference is you cant drive them all the same.
Update: The 1RZ-E engine in this makes 105hp, not 95hp.

In general, mas pang matagalan ang diesel. Mas mahal man siya kung may masira, isahang gawaan lang, tapos matagal na ulit bago mo kailangang pagawa
Pero kung Revo naman yan, I don’t think malaki aabutin ng mga gagawin, at bihira lang naman may magloko sa makina ng mga Revo hehe

The 3rd Row can be either Side x Side or Front Faced, depending on the configuration. It seems the owner "hates it". Good stuff.
