    There is a change in pressure sensors between 2012 and 2013, and Ford superseded the early one to the later one. But as you found out, they aren’t compatible. We grabbed several from the junkyard to have spares. Have not found any source for them in the aftermarket.

    I had a guy bring me a Montego once. It would studder and AC shut off and I cant remember what all else. He had gotten a hold of me becaue he thought he needed instrument cluster repair. Car was running I was watching the dome light just surge brightness. Turned out fella needed an alternator.

      The junkyard one. Ford consolidated their parts wrong. Now you cannot buy a new one.

    Anytime you have a tough one like this and you don’t trust the scan tool data for a pressure switch.
    Use a good set of accurate, digital, refrigerant gauges and a nitrogen tank.
    Because you can adjust the pressure up and down with an accuracy of 1/10 of one psi.
    You can watch as you dial up the pressure that the pressure transducer datastream does or does not match what the digital refrigerant gauge says.
    You also can get just a threaded portion for my hose repair kit hooked up to just a hose and your refrigerant gauges and nitrogen and pressure test off the car before putting them on the car . Or connected to the wiring harness as you adjust the pressure..
    With refrigerant in the system, you place a very accurate clamp on type temperature sensor . In with a full charge of refrigerant, it should match very closely to the pressure temperature PT chart.. and if the scan tool does not something is wrong.
    But were things go wrong trying to use the PT chart and transducer is when there’s an internal heat exchanger involved . Plus variable displacement compressor.
    That was a tough one. I would’ve been pulling my hair out..
