I've gotta thank you, I've used this lick or some variation of it at every gig and jam session I've been to in the past 6 months or so lol

Holy moly! John! I've been practicing the banjo for ten years. This lick will take another ten years🤣 Is there a step by step breakdown of this lick available?

I can relate - funny but 10 yeras is not nearly long enough for me!

Ben Eldridge of the Seldom Scene uses the same intro for "Working on a Building." You can hear it on the "Old Train" album.
I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

Welp, I just l looked it up and apparently it was seldom scene and not Del McCorury who did it. That's the version I was trying to refer to. Just goes to show how little I know about the music.

@@JohnMooreVlogs Not at all!!! Don't sell yourself short. I hadn't heard McCoury's version, but I was very familiar with Eldridge's, and I recognized it from your playing.

Isn't it curious how he plays that really fast chromatic lick but.... you can't see his fingers?!? And that thing you're calling vamping... isn't vamping. Just sayin...
