To me this is one of the greatest live performances of any singer who ever sang anything live. She is just unbelievable and her voice (and her) seems to age like a fine wine. Her dynamics and control have continued to improve, if that is possible, over the years she has been active (from age 19, approximately, to now approaching 47). BTW, I saw an interview with her where they were talking about her nickname from fans, 'Queen', because she has all the hallmarks of a great diva, (except her off stage kindness). She said some fans call her 'Mamma' because of her motherly personality, and others a 'Bus Driver', because people seem to want to ride on the same bus with her. She was laughing when she deferred to those two later nicknames rather than the more pretentious 'Queen' (which she also deserves, because on stage she is one for sure). And you figured out why she always uses a hand-held Mike - the musical genius lady uses it to control the sound to a finer point than even her voice control. She has sung her most famous songs many times, but these TV Contest and Concert performances are always the right choice. As you know, this video, and many of her best known, are from a TV Contest which by their nature, require a performance that displays the depth of the artist's talents, so she is not showing off here. She does her own musical arrangements including the Singer, Chorus, Orchestra, and Staging. In the one I'm requesting next, she won an award for the staging, setting, and lighting. If you enjoyed the overall musicality of this performance you will absolutely enjoy her collaboration with Petra doing an original gospel jazz fusion called Freedom,the vocals are amazing and Sohyangs and Petra also do the backing vocals which are crazy good but the best thing about it is the vibe and is something you haven't seen from Sohyangs yet,dude it'll have you off your chair dancing it's so frickin good,you really got to see it.
You say she sounds like a mother, but the ironic thing is that she was never able to be a mother because she had either cervical or ovian cancer in her 20's. She is so humble.
