The golden oldies of bass fishing
we need a series where all these old classic legends get back together and have a day out on the water like the good old days....true pioneers of their time!
Yes, totally agree, no electronics, just old school bass fishing. This tournament was the year I was born and my bass boat is a 1984 Glasstream ProBass 1550 i wish times were simpler.
Soooooo much better than today's bass master classics..... it's worse to see some of the guys who used to fish these change with the times ... poor guys didn't have a choice. Tommy Biffle, Rick clunn, Mike, even KVD.
I wish the show today would create an open like the one used in the 80's with the same theme music.
Pistol grips and short shorts! Gotta love the '80s!
What could be better? Ray Scott, the music, the narrator and those old school angles
I can relate to this kinda video, I'm almost 79 years old and probably watch this classic when it happened on tnn.
Bassmaster could learn from its old shows. You alienate a lot of us just to please a more youthful demographic.
This was three years ago and it’s a hell a lot worse now
I’d like to see a Bassmasters classic legends series with all the legends fish a series and then a classic with the top ten.
That was a great video. I got to meet Ray Scott at the 2011 Classic in New Orleans. A memory I will always cherish. What a visionary he was. The equipment sure has progressed in the past 36 years hasn’t it??!!
Cut my first bass tournament check on this lake last year it's still tough to fish a real confidence boost seeing legends struggle at times
Much Better than today’s bassmaster!
Jimmy Houston .... dude never changes !!! I wonder if he hadn't lost his voice if he would have won.
I love to see how old Roland Martin looked in '87
He looks 47
Good ole fish fishbern. That made my day see his rookie year
I live on the Ohio and it can be some tough going when the water is up and muddy like some of the river was here!
Gold...thanks bassmaster
Enjoyed seeing this! Would love to see more.
Our goal is to get all of them up on RUclips :) - Sara
Now I get to see what I missed while stationed in South Korea back in the day. ;-)
DeltaBassBuster that's awesome
Yep there were no bass in those Binjo Ditches. D.J. Kwang Ju AB 86-87
I am a life member of B.A.S.S. since 1979. I haven't watched a single episode of bassmaster since FFS has come along. Watching 4-way split screen of guys staring at screens is ridiculous.
The 4 people who disliked this video must be crappie anglers
🤣🤣🤣 I dont know why this made me laugh so hard dude. Hahah
7:27 Rooting for veteran Basil Bacon out of Missoura... wherever that is. Watch out for Oregano Sausage, he knows the river well.
lol very well done with your spicy meat knowledge
RIP Ray
As a fan of watching bass anglers fish. Now all we get to see is anglers watching a screen. Instead of where they are casting their lure and figuring a pattern on the bank or off shore. So without Foward facing sonar watching anglers, figuring stuff out is more entertaining .
PISTOL GRIP HANDLES!! OH MY MAKES MY WRISTS HURT JUST WATCHING.
I still have my very first Diawa Pistol grip rod and reel. Bought it in 88 or 89. Took the reel in for cleaning and repair and it's back to new. But yes. Pain in the ass to fish with it compared to what we have today. Love, love, love it nonetheless. Best to you Jeff.
Paul Ellias's beard was crazy
6:30 Copenhagen Satisfaction since 1987
Everyone fishing in a Ranger, but wearing a Skeeter hat, lol!!!
24:53 I didn’t know they used mustard to make Ranger boats!
Who's handing out all those Skeeter hats with those Ranger boats? Wonder what FLW thought of that.
They all weigh one pound. What a fishery.
I'd like to see them come to tanners creek in Indiana along the Ohio river see how good these boys really are
my buddy's boat was #7 in this tourney
crazy
The struggle is real people..........trying to catch fish in the Ohio valley. Fishing SUCKS around here! Even the pros can't catch em here!!!!!
1:14 every may this is the tune plays on Ky derby day
6:02 LOL!!!!
Craig Taylor sick ass hook set
40:48 "I caught you a delicious bass"
Scott Martin
Holy hot shorts, Batman....!
Ok , i stand corrected. 1988 model, could have came out in late 1987
36:49 the bass master tv cameras has just booted the system up to go global
6:30 - Now there's a face only a mother could love.
Copenhagen satisfaction since 1987
Go back to making them all use the same boat, same electronics no live scope and a limited amount of tackle just for the classic and watch how much more interesting it is. Oh and make it a secret like back in the day! Id love to see someone win a tournament on a frog or a spinner bait again. Not just live scoping brush piles in 40ft of water.
Ray should have never sold BASS to ESPN
38:09 it's a long walk for an angler has got zero fish in the livewell
This cannot be 1987, one of the trucks was a 1989 chevy or newer
The judge on the boat fishes too?
I know. Right? What if he catches a 10 lb er?
Why can't I watch this in HD? ;)
😂
Watching these in high deff would take away from them
Advancements in technology have overtaken the personalities of the sport. No one stands out anymore. Who are the legends of the 2000s? Not including KVD who made his bones in the 90s.
Roland looks more like a Golfer than a Fisherman..
Watch at 4:18. How can you have a 1989 chevy in 1987
Bassmaster used to be good but now they support Live Scope so now they have gone Down Hill!
not much has changed. they still like to go to lakes that have no fish. they have never gottin it that fans and supporters of the sport like to see big fish and lots of them . not squeakers
But that's not the real world for a lot of us......a lot of us have to fish these tough places because it's where we live......I know because I live here where they were fishing. fishing sucks around here....pretty much always has!
This is exactly what real bass anglers and pros want.
