      Actually you'd need to replicate the conditions of a supernova. Our sun can't make elements heavier than iron.

    I'm not a chemist, but I do have a bit of a chemistry background, and its pretty dang accurate with the exception of stuff like condensing all the things you'd get out of seawater into just slag

    So early refining is actually less efficient believe it or not. Early on every 3 saphirite or stiratite turns into 2 iron or copper. 2/3 ratio. With refining you get the 3 iron/copper per 4 of their ores so you would think its a 3/4 ratio, but since for every 4 saphirite or stiratite you only get get 3 ores another 3/4 ratio and each of those ores only produces 3/4 of a plate you actually get 3/4 * 3/4 ratio of 9/16 or .5625. Even if you send the slag back through each saphirite/stiratite only produces 5/6 ores which each turns into 3/4 of a plate so 5/6 * 3/4 ratio of 15/24 which is .625. When you compare this to 2/3 or ~.66666 you are getting less plates per stiratite/saphirite despite the added complexity and power and fuel energy usage. Once you get advanced refining then you can turn ores into plates at a 1/1 ratio meaning the rates per saphirite/stiratite turn into 3/4 or 5/6 depending on whether you reprocess the slag or not which is a useful increase.
    Now when it comes to Rubyte and Bobmonium it is a useful thing to do because you only get 1 plate for every 3 of their crushed counterparts which means even a 9/16 rate is a significant increase, even when considering that the rate is actually 1/2 * 3/4 or 3/8 ratio since you can't actually process nickel or silicon early on and is not needed so it's an excess material. If you reprocess the slag you get 5/9 ratio of process-able ores to Rubyte/Bobmonium which then times the 3/4 early conversion rate is 5/12 ratio of plates to Rubyte/Bobmonium.

    the production of sulfuric acid in the industry is made using a vanadium pentoxide coated mesh catalyst at high temperatures of 450 celsius to convert the SO2 into SO3 as it absorbs oxygen.
    the SO3 then reacts with water to form H2SO4
    in this game techically its ok since SO2 does end up becomming H2SO4 and oxygen is taken from the air so in all it is fine

    Three things to do Z: 1) get green house tech ASAP, possibly before solar. Green houses are slow however rely on very small resource loop compared to green alge. 2) dont bother creating a furnace setup go for Angles advance smelting and plan for it. its big its expensive but it is well worth it. instead of turning staritite into iron with a 3 to 2 loss or iron ore into iron with a 4 to 3 loss, the advance setup is a 1 to 1 and in the advanced stages is a 1+1 to 3 gain. Setting up a furnace column is a trap, you will enviably rely on it too much. 3) give your self a TON of space, you will need alot more space than you actually think you need.

      Z's using the official modpack from the seablock author (linked in the description), and the greenhouse mod isn't included. Not to mention I think you need a piece of raw wood to start that loop (IIRC you need to hand-craft the first few saplings?), which is a non-starter in this environment...

      You can't use greenhouses in Seablock because it is not possible to get Raw Wood, which is required to start the loop.

      Dirkus ischuyz informed me about that I guess I'm running a slightly altered form of this mod pack. Mine has greenhouses in it, it makes wood ALOT simpler. That and it gave me an early-ish game use for all this silicone that I got. I wish there was a early game use for all the nickle.

    you may want to switch your crystallizers to produce only saphirite, as they produce iron and copper in a 2:1 ratio, which is right for making science packs, as well as most early game needs.

      The first two packs (red/green) require 1 copper 2 iron and 3.5 copper 2 iron (among other things) and blue research moves almost completely away from iron - outside a bit of steel. Focusing copper may prove useful once red science is (quickly) exhausted.

    Hey Zisteau, your Algea Cycle requires Mineral Water from the sulfur cycle, and the sulfur cycle need coal from the algea cycle.
    (It's set up this way already,) But the amounts they produce aren't enough to keep each other going, so you will have to build something to help out with that.
    The most efficiant way to do that is to create Mineral water from water and crushed stone.

    In your green algae to carbon dioxide chain, you can simply liquefy the wood pellets so you don't have to turn them into wood bricks and coal.
    Converting wood pellets into coal maintains the same fuel value, however you waste energy and fuel running the machines and smelter.
    Also, liquidizing wood pellets produces 70 CO2 while liquidizing coal only produces 50 CO2

      A: you need coal for coal filtering
      B: you get 3 coal per 2 pellets so making CO2 with coal is more efficiant, even when considering conversion energy required

      2 wood pellets does make 3 coal, but wood pellets have a fuel value of 12MJ while coal has a fuel value of 8MJ. This means the 2:3 conversion is 2x12MJ:3x8MJ which is 1:1.
      So CO2 should be produced from wood pellets and the only coal you should make is what is required for coal filtering.

      he is not talking about fuel value there, he is talking about carbon dioxide amount, coal gives a better ratio, yes run furnaces on pellets but coal may be better for carbon dioxide

    The red packs are as expensive as the vanilla ones, just 1 more assembler.
    1 EM core = 2 iron plate Craft time is 0.5s
    1 iron gear = 2 iron plate Craft time is 1.25s
    2 EM coils = 1 copper plate (recipe is 8 EM coil = 4 copper plate, Craft time is 5s) so average Craft time is 1.25s for 2 EM coils
    1 copper plate is 1 copper plate
    1 Red pack = 1 EM core + 2 EM coils = 2 iron plates + 1 copper plate Craft time is 5s
    1 Red pack = 1 iron gear + 1 copper plate = 2 iron plates + 1 copper plate Craft time is 5s
    So the only difference is, it takes 2 assemblers 1.25s each to craft enough materials for 1 Red pack instead of only 1 assembler 0.5s to craft iron gears. Add the assembler for the science pack, and it results in 6.25s total craft time per pack instead of 5.5s.
    And the compression is worse, because 1 copper plate becomes 2 EM coils.
    Not sure about crafting speed, but that results in the bottleneck being copper, at 40/3 items per second, meaning it can supply 20/3 recipes worth per second, multiplied by 5s craft time, becomes 100/3 assemblers per second, or 33 and a third of the time of a 34th.
    And actually smelting the crushed saphirite isn't the worst ore to iron ratio, it is one of the best, the higher the recipe level/complexity the less iron/copper you get per iron, but you get more of different ores.
    If I'm not mistaken:
    Just crushing:
    6x Saphirite ore -> 6x Crushed ore -> 4x Iron plates or 1.5x Ore per Iron plate
    And sorting:
    8x Saphirite ore -> 8x Crushed saphirite ore -> 4x Iron ore -> 3x Iron plates or 2.66x Ore per Iron plate
    That means from sorting Saphirite you need 77% more ore. With some more math if we add the Iron ore from Stiritite ore crush+sorting it becomes less of a difference, but still more ore is used for the same iron.
    Only crushing:
    48 Saphirite ore + 48 Stiritite ore -> 32 Iron plates + 32 Copper plates
    48 Saphirite ore + 48 Stiritite ore -> 24 Iron ore + 12 Iron ore + 24 Copper ore + 24 Iron ore + 12 Slag + 12 Slag ->
    -> 36 Iron ore +36 Copper ore + 24 Slag -> 27 Iron plates + 27 Copper plates + 24 Slag.
    The iron and copper you get is less, but you get slag that you can then use. With the same 48 ore, you get 12 slag per type of ore.
    And the ore to pure iron/copper gets worse and worse.
    Since you are using slag, making the better useful ores directly might by a good idea.
    The best ore to iron ratio/recipe is the mixed thing that takes ?Jivolite?, the yellow one, and Saphirite and combines 2x of each to make 4x iron ore -> 4x iron plate, so that is 0.5x Ore per Iron plate or 3x as efficient as just crushing, 4x as efficient as just Saphirite crush+sorting or 2.66x as efficient as Saphirite and Stiritite crush+sorting.
    Please correct me if i messed up the math/recipes somewhere.
    PS. It may get messy by some standards, but you don't have to use the same type of pipe everywhere, if you are missing some material for pipes for a simple connection, you can use iron or copper or whatever pipes. Most of the time they work just as good for short distances. Also you have power issues during the day. Making a simple boiler setup might be a good idea.

    Electronics assembly machines are specialized assembly machines(only certain recipes allowed) that are 2x2 sized, work faster, use less energy, and require few resources than an equivalent tiered assembly machine. The values may be slightly different in the Sea Block modpack, but here's the example: Electronics assembling machine 1 uses 100kW and has craftin speed: 1. The equivalent tier assembling machine (the blue "Assembling machine 2") uses 135kW and has crafting speed: 0.75. The 2x2 size should help when the starting island gets crowded.

    Hey Zisteau! Ever heard of a game called Space Engineers? It's a wonderful sandbox game in space where you get to build and design your own space ships in a 3D environment! you can start off on a planet or in empty space, and the whole game is to scale! (As in you are 1/1000000 the size of a planet, or similar) You start off by building small ships, which you can use to build bigger ships, which you can use to build bigger ships, etc. There's tons of mods to make it easy for youtubers who don't have a lot of time, or for those who just want to see bigger explosions.

    It's possible to empty crushed stone to chest and take stuff from chest to furnace. Because crushed stones don't smelt into anything inserter will grab only ore. Well, it's a working solution before you got assembly.

    Hey Z, have you considered using rail cargo wagons to help manage some of the craziness of Angel's petrochem? By restricting the cargo wagon inventory squares you can move a long and ever-changing menu of items from point to point without bots and without losing your mind. Cargo trains on a loop look clunky, but actually give decent throughput and might really help pre-bots.

    I wonder what the red spots on the minimap mean? Presumably fish, but I haven't got this pack so have no clue what they really are.Also, that is one ingenious method to combine iron and copper production into one belt. There would be multiple issues trying to do that in standard unmodded Factorio gameplay! :D

      They are islands of biters. Its the limitation to expansion early game. Have to tech up some military first before expanding within range

    How confident are you that you will actually get to the stage of getting that faster than light thing built? The sheer amount of resources needed would be a challenge even when you can stripmine ores, it will be insane trying to get it all from the water, right?
    I hope you manage to do it, I tried the seablock mod myself but just couldn't get into it enough to keep going but I would love to see it done, even if I don't have the patience for it.
