It won't be enough, but he is using a tiny bit of the ore too, so it might balance out. At the very least, it'll fill the storage and backup ore production at some miniscule fraction of the total ore remaining, and he can just add more chests to finish the job.
As to power-mining the ore patches as quickly as possible: If you compress the miners so that they're all adjacent (with underground belts, you'd be surprised how many you can squeeze in there) you can increase the overall extraction rate. Then it's a simple matter of using your blueprint tool to count the miners present, calculating their production rates based on research upgrades / modules / beacons, and ensuring that no stretch of output belt receives more than 40/sec. I'm away from my gaming rig for the next few days, but I know I have some blueprints that will help. Edited to add: Also, where ore patches abut one another and you receive mining overlap, those individual belts would need to be segregated and filtered with filter inserters before adding their product back into your output.
Loving this series so far. I am pro priority loader on the island copper patch lines. You want those to be used up first and then the new copper to only be used to compress the belt. "But in the fullness of time" it won't matter.
Storing processed uranium would probably be more efficient. 1) because it's a 10th of the space 2) if the ore is just going to be sitting around for a while anyway, might as well process it.
Zisteau, there is a Chest Connector available that would allow Factorissimo Factories to output directly into a Passive Provider. The one downside is that the inside must also have a chest.
LOL I love the description of this video. It is by conveyer belts alone my items acquire motion. It is by the science packs that research acquires speed, that the factories acquire recursion, the trains acquire new stops. It is by conveyer belts alone my items acquire motion.
Z, two small mods for you: Nuclear Locomotives and Nuclear Robots. The trains run on the same fuel cells as the reactors, and you'll likely never have one run out of fuel again. The robots never need to recharge and don't slow down.
Couldn't have just used one belt and inserters feeding into other chests from that one belt... meh, whatever, design above efficiency is the Zisteaunian way.
You should make your storage warehouse just have inserters daisy chain from chest to chest from top to bottom, that is the belt runs across the top, inserters pull from belt into chests, then a row of inserters and a row of chests and so on down to the bottom where they can pull out onto an output belt that way you don't need to do anything when it comes time to empty it.
You can use the "dump the ores in a building" trick to empty out the smaller patches. Then just move the BUILDING to the train station. Or use filter inserters in the storage building for the overlapping patches of ore.
For the storage you should have has an inserter into a box then an inserter from that box into another box until the bottom. Basically using them as buffers then join to the main line. So if the line gets full the chests start to fill up. BTW also good to do that for research labs and have all the sciences going into one lab then inserters taking from that lab to other labs and so on until you have a 5 X 5 or more. Then no need to have belts going all the way around.
Ha see. You would get so much more throughput of ore, if you would just put the mining drills side by side with no space in between. Less space, more mining drills, more ore.
Hey Z, awesome video! Watching those bombs is so satisfying. I'm wondering if you've had a chance to play around with the new blueprint planner yet? It's really awesome and helps keep the inventory clean of all the misc. blueprints. :)
If you want to really maximize your efficiency of storage of uranium (I bet you do), you can put a roboport, few provider chests and the rest can be requesters and you can fill up the space where belts and inserters used to be
I wonder, does the bomb do /kill or does it just deal like a million damage. Because if the latter, I wonder if it's possible to survive it with max shielding setup.
you can survive a unupgraded nuke if you get all the mk2 shields charged and fill up a mk2 power armor with it. any rocket damage upgrades make it impossible.
I'd rather see research for expanding the size of the blast. It'd be great to make one that was researched to the max to the point where you had to fire it at max range just to make sure you weren't caught in it. Could make nice big holes in the alien nesting grounds.
I can't watch this video... The audio plays fine but the video keeps freezing. There's no option for me to turn down the video quality so it plays smoothly, either.
RUclipsrs have no control at all over quality settings. All you do is upload a video, and everything after that is purely up to YT's processing. So, probably just gotta wait.
Zisteau at this point into the game, why not just transition into bot-based builds instead of belt-based? They are much more space efficient and are great for min-maxing
He should give a tutourial on how to download the map from the link becuse i only see giberish when i click the link it sends me to to a site and i have no idea what to do! D:
if you're early to a video it might not have completely finished rendering. but I'm typing this way late so I guess I'm going to be comment #55664 explaining that
"Here we go, here we go, stealthy style... I got two nuclear bombs left"
- Zisteau ~ 2017
Well you don't need to worry about getting spotted if everyone's dead. PROBLEM SOLVED.
lol at 10:00, great editing.
run, run, run
murder, murder, murder
run run run
murder murder murder
Remember that your mining productivity bonus will give you more ore than actually shows on the map.
So you'll need to add more chests.
lostimage08
He did add a few more, just incase

I'm glad that coal patch on the island is gone, it was driving my OCD nuts looking at the maze of wooden power poles connecting everything up! :D

The production value and thought that goes into everything you do is admirable.
So addicted to the series I had to watch this one twice!
love the cut aways of the alien base purge Zisteau. I appreciate the extra effort. I may play it back and play some Benny Hill "Yakety Sax" over it.
Please make a quick save, and see what a nuke does to your base.
destroys everything... TADA...
Couldn't have just used one belt and inserters feeding into other chests from that one belt... meh, whatever, design above efficiency is the Zisteaunian way.
Try smelting onto underground belts, it actually compresses a belt instead of having irritating gaps. Also great work, loving the videos!
Yes this is the episode I was waiting for all time
You should look at the warehouse mod for storing your ore. Just a suggestion.
upgrade to lvl 3 assemblers, start with circuits.
You could find out what happens if you're hit with a nuke - that's what autosaves are for, right?
Zisteau, why are you storing blueprints by one while you can store them in a blueprint book and switch between them with Shift + mouse wheel scroll?
You can use the "dump the ores in a building" trick to empty out the smaller patches. Then just move the BUILDING to the train station. Or use filter inserters in the storage building for the overlapping patches of ore.
Now we need a Liberty Prime mod. Lobs atomic bombs with bare hands and lazors everything to oblivion.
12 portable laser guns in armor is epic
I assume Zisteau already knows about his name appearing in Bentham's Factorio Towns series, but surprise if he didn't!
This is extremely satisfying!
That description though :D
Inserting onto an underground belt lets it fully saturate it, so you don't need to sideload

This kind of gives me a Dr.Strangelove vibe
so the app limits my to 360, when I go through chrome I get full quality. what the hell youtube
finally some nuclear fireworks

Nice dune Reference :)
took me some seconds to remember it
I think they're Iraniums...

If you want to really maximize your efficiency of storage of uranium (I bet you do), you can put a roboport, few provider chests and the rest can be requesters and you can fill up the space where belts and inserters used to be
Petr Sokol even just using one stretch of belt with chests and inserters alternating would be more efficient, but your idea is probably the best.
Active providers and storage would be the best, with a few requesters at the output
Zisteau always says red belts to red advanced circuits xD
You mean neatherrack.
They are called behemoth biters
dont worry about it....dont think about it....is this a yoglabs blacksite? XD
I've got 8 legs
~Z 2018
still 360p. just watched a vid in 720 though. darn yt.
Hey, Z. I'm watching on mobile, and the highest quality I'm getting is 360p.
*Edit* : It's fixed now.
You know underground belts now go further, right? @11:30
there is not a acheivement for nuking yourself
I wonder, does the bomb do /kill or does it just deal like a million damage. Because if the latter, I wonder if it's possible to survive it with max shielding setup.
someone tried something similar when the update first came out, they did not survive :D
you can survive a unupgraded nuke if you get all the mk2 shields charged and fill up a mk2 power armor with it. any rocket damage upgrades make it impossible.
Is there a research for rocket shooting speed? What if you rapid-fire nukes like a machine gun?
If everything is dead from your first shot, why fire another?
Fun, hilarity, etc.
I'd rather see research for expanding the size of the blast. It'd be great to make one that was researched to the max to the point where you had to fire it at max range just to make sure you weren't caught in it. Could make nice big holes in the alien nesting grounds.
Combine them both to rain death and destruction on anything and everything within a certain radius of you. Including yourself. Especially yourself.
Solo me deja verlo en 360p supogo que habrá algún problema
Doesn't the MK 3 stuff allow you to have multiple setups and just swap between them like the vanilla game does?
Nuke 'em, Rico!
Why not mass craft landfill and square out the island? ^^
do these belts make me look fat?
no. I would even say you look thinner.
Hey Z, I think that at this point uranium ammo is better than shotgun ammo.
I can't watch this video... The audio plays fine but the video keeps freezing. There's no option for me to turn down the video quality so it plays smoothly, either.
uh so video quality is too high for me to be able to watch on my rural connection.
4+ hours in, still no lower quality. Is this a youtube problem, or did Zisteau forget something?
RUclipsrs have no control at all over quality settings. All you do is upload a video, and everything after that is purely up to YT's processing. So, probably just gotta wait.
So have you read all the Dune series - the old and new?
Wouldn't belt>inserter>chest>inserter>chest>etc. take up less room?
yes and it looks really cool to.
I only get the option for 720 and 1080... I'm on mobile internet, so it takes ages to load :'(
Sacha Janssens I have everything but those options and am on my home internet. I love RUclips.
catsoften Well, maybe it will sort itself out? :p
Sacha Janssens refreshing fixes it sometimes. it can take a while.
i only have 144p 240p and 360p
Zisteau at this point into the game, why not just transition into bot-based builds instead of belt-based? They are much more space efficient and are great for min-maxing
He has stated that he thinks bots are a boring solution to an interesting problem. Form over function. :)
is only can see 360p not higher
i can only watch in 360p :-(
glenn schrooyen same here
1080p here
i only have 1080 or 720...
AuraKnight i'd rather have your problems
no u wouldn't, I cant watch shit because of my internet... It doesnt hold 720p60
He should give a tutourial on how to download the map from the link becuse i only see giberish when i click the link it sends me to to a site and i have no idea what to do! D:
where can i find your blueprite link ?
What happened to 1080p?
Baggie195 LGN_ higher resolutions take longer to process, they will be up in a bit most likely.
It's available for me… Maybe it needs some time to propagate to all servers…
damokl3s probably
if you're early to a video it might not have completely finished rendering. but I'm typing this way late so I guess I'm going to be comment #55664 explaining that
only 360p (watching in Germany on mobile)... I'll probably just wait an hour or so...
Teschi me too :DD
weird... using the RUclips mobile page in the browser gives me 1080 which my bandwidth is struggling with -_-
only 360 p for mee??
Hey, can i have the seed for this map?
It's in the description.
What happened to minecraft man!
