Iga was tested today, Kerber put up a great fight specially in the first set when she saved 7 set points but once again, Iga showing why she is up there in the rankings, great match!
Kerber fought like a lioness on her worst surface against best clay courter by far in the last 3-4 years. Great match 🔥

Why do people say Kerber is boring? Her game is very interesting. She has one of the best defense of all time, and has the ability to hit winners from anywhere on the court. Iga showed why she's the number one. She's very deserving of that rank, and barring any serious injuries, she's on course for a very impressive career even though her achievements are impressive at the moment.

Wozniacki’s game is boring, not that of Kerber.
That first set from Angelique was a blast from the past... that she was able to keep it that tight and hang with Iga for nearly an hour of intense play is legendary stuff! Iga's movement, pace and variety is just a delight to watch! 🙂

Angie played so well today
For sheer aggression, grit, court craft and focus there is no one on the WTA Tour who can match Iga Swiatek. On a purely game level her style is the one to watch. The lasso forehand, court movement, ability to change course.
Polish fans have broken hearts as Angelique has polish roots, lives in Poland and has polish citizenship either. That's sport ...

Iga was tested in this match. Her practice sessions are tougher than some of her matches. Serve and return of serve. Iga has improved in both.
Iga’s game is even more powerful than in 2022. This match was incredibly good! Respect for Kerber
First set was full of so many intense hits, that was expected Angie would not be able to keep up against Iga in the second one... But the first set was very injoyable.
That was a good match. I like it when Iga is challenged like this. These kind of victories also taste better :) well done both!
Once you are no.1, with 3 finals so far this year…Every match will be hard and difficult…But at this point, all roads still lead to 1GA.❤

A bit messy first set for Iga, but glad she came through. Kerber has a high rally tolerance and she made Iga work for points. I wonder whether Iga will be too tired when RG rolls around. She has become a clutch player for a while now, maybe this will carry her through weeks. But going deep in tournaments frequently will tire her out. We will wait and see, i hope she can adjust and close out the clay season with a bang!

For kerber to be able to win against Iga she needs to win against top 20 / 10 consistently and get used to the nerves and tension. As long as she has R1 exists no matter how hard she plays Iga will get her. Wish she brought this level often.
Angelique was 1st actually in 2016 and she knows perfectly well the tension as she was able to win even with Serena, so "nerves and tension" comment rather inappropriate.

It is entirely an inadmissible approach which is displayed by those illiterate people. I never want to consider whoever tells something about the movement and motion of Kerber. She has demonstrated the most resilient and relentless performance even though German tennis player was dismantled by world no:1 Iga Swiatek.
Athleticism Question: Hypothetically, Do you think Iga Swiatek at her current age could have success playing American high school football? Does she have the athleticism for it? Why or why not?
Her physiotherapist was asked if she would been good in some other discipline. The answer was that he can’t say because he has a data only from tennis.

Moreover, she ain't Serena Williams who was no. 1 until her age of 36!
Swiatek is the WTA's worst nightmare. Boring tennis, looks like the grinch and has absolutely nothing to say. Regarding Kerber, just phone her. U have by far the best advises I have ever heard of.
