He also just has strange takes sometimes and gets flack for stuff pretty often. I’d hate to think of how big & strong Devon could’ve gotten over the last 6yrs, if he would’ve been hitting the compound movements like the Georgians, instead of the static pumpkin training with no recovery days.🤔

@@HafizShivji786 Compound exercises at full range of motion are actually easier on the elbows than arm wrestling isolation exercises and certain static movements, I’m nearly 10yrs older than Devon, and have been resistance training & arm wrestling for over 40yrs, and I do pull-ups, push-ups, rows, and other compound exercises as well as Devon style movements, and I have no elbow problems, and I’m even 100% natural, no roids or TRT, Of course I’m not talking about full blown power lifting. I’m just talking about moderately high intensity compound exercises that are proven to be beneficial for arm wrestling, The Georgians all use them, and they got 3 East vs West champions, so that speaks for itself.

the idea of training one side makes a lot of sense, but you can still overdo it. It's more of a question of how much extra recovery do you get from not training one arm. And is it worth it? if you are in Devon's position even a 1% advantage is worth it. But it's still possible he overestimated the recovery advantage and over-reached with the training.

The constant competing, PEDs, and stem cells were probably more effective than the training itself.
The over abundance of specific training for one arm is fine and all, but laying a base of overall strength and increasing that base strength will make the specific arm training higher in the long run.
Again, Devon’s height is his advantage, he’s taller than everyone he beat in the last year, Levan has nearly the same length of arm but is stronger everywhere.
