This show meant so much to me as a little girl. I can't describe how comforting it felt to see a show where a girl was not only the main character, but was allowed to be weird, imaginative, and a total dork without it being seen as a loser by the show. Not only that but it was the first time I had ever seen a single mom in any movie/TV show that wasn't the result of a "tragic death" backstory, and me being raised by a single mom felt so seen. It just feels like a show that so fully understands that actual "nerd kid" experience that young girls can grow up with. Bessie also just feels like a real kid, more than any other show that came out at the time. When I was 9 and watching the show, I actually joined the girl scouts and got a sash when every other girl in my troop chose a vest, and started drawing a smiley face on my finger solely because of this show. I also was excited to have glasses, and when I got braces I asked the dentist if it would give me a lisp and got disappointed when he said no, and I got even more disappointed when he told me the braces would close the gap in my two front teeth (which made me look a little more like Bessie). Not only did I want to be like Bessie, but the show actually made me PROUD of so many things that kids are worried about because most other shows/movies used glasses, braces, and tooth gaps, to mock people. Even though most of the time, those are things that kids can't help having. Even though the show wasn't very successful, I'm glad it existed for me and other dorky little kids like me
The Mighty B was one of the first shows I remember seeing where tween-ish girl characters got to be gross and for that I’ll always admire it. Undiagnosed neurodivergent weirdgirl representation I didn’t know I needed as a kid!

As someone who enjoyed Duncanville and also only watch a handful of Mighty B episodes, this video made me realize that Mighty B has what I like about Duncanville, but times 10. Having a seemingly grounded world with the most absurdist jokes, characters, and scenarios. But, Mighty B embraces this, while Duncanville was a little more reserved and had a good chunk of non-absurd episodes (especially season 1).
I love the mighty B. in a time where many of my favorite cartoons in Nick, CN and Disney were finishing or cancelled, this was always one of my go to especially when Spongebob output (Seasons 5 through 7) were not that great. It a bummer it lasted so little, especially when it finally got its groove on season 2. the seasons finales with the fireflies and the stuffed bear always come to mind when remembering it. it may never comeback but I'll always cheerish the manic and earnest energy it brought.
Omg I've literally been obsessed with this tv show it was my all time favorite, and ive always tried looking for it but could never watch all the episodes 😭😭😭 u til i got paramount and finally was able to watch it

Gooosh, now I wanna revisit this show too... ;u; So fun, so bizarre, et cetra et cetra, meeeeeep. Nice retrospective! Thank you for steering people towards the works of Jean-Jacques Perrey, his music might not be as innovative today as it once was but it's sound remains unique and inspiring. Great video about a cartoon I thought was just a fuzzy memory!
Ok. I'm too early to comment. Heres my opinion. The mighty B is truly a mighty entertaining cartoon. It has truly earned its title. To the art and Writing. I wonder if there was a planned season 3, would it had been story driven
I’ve never actually watched this show but I’ve seen multiple clips from it that are way too funny. This video honestly convinced me to go ahead and watch it. Definitely going towards the top of the to do list when it comes to new shows.
22:06 so in short, its the mighty b's version of fancy schmancy from season 10 fop; a nice little episode about the friendship anniversary of the main characters
I always loved this show and still has a special place in me and my family's hearts. I've always been a huge Amy Poehler (and Kenan Thompson) fan so that is an added bonus for me. The art style has always reminded me of both Ren & Stimpy and SpongeBob.
For some reason, I expected you to review this cartoon. It is quite possibly the best SpongeBob/Ren & Stimpy ripoff I’ve ever seen. In all seriousness, the show’s pretty good and I didn’t realize it when it was still airing new episodes, but it was probably the last cartoon I ever saw (for a while until Modern SpongeBob and Middlemost Post I guess) that felt cartoony and exaggerated. Hopefully some of the people that worked on this are working on the new Ren & Stimpy reboot. Because even if that upcoming reboot doesn’t turn out to be perfect writing wise, brilliant art direction and animation could really spice it up. I realize I just described the OG Ren & Stimpy show and a TEASPOON of Adult Party’s rare good qualities, but I think my point still stands. XD
I know it’s a cartoon and there’s no way for this to be true but I like to think Bessy is just a young Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec, her overachieving nature kinda helps as well as being played by the same actor as well
Oh man, I've never heard someone talking (in a good way) about this cartoon. I loved Mighty B when I was a child and I remember how my older sister bullied me for watching it And yeah, that show has a huge Ren and Stimpy energy, maybe that was one of the reasons why I liked it🤔 Unfortunately, in Latin America the show was totally ignored so maybe I've never seen the 2nd season. I need to rewatch it... someday
Fun fact: in Latin America the remaining 13 episodes and 24 segments were released before the United States, ending the series 7 months earlier on November 6, 2010, while in the United States the series ended on June 12, 2011.
I remember REALLY enjoying this show as a kid, to the point where I bought a few episodes to watch on my iPod Nano. Like some things in my life I eventually grew out of it prior to the Dragonflies season finale, but judging by this video I missed out on a GOLDMINE of quality material afterwards. Maybe I should revisit it sometime
I was actually rewatching this show when I used to have a paramount+. So much nostalgia bc I loved the show as a kid and I love it now as an adult. I wish they'd have certain times where they played old Nick toons on Nickelodeon!
Nickelodeon is uniquely good at making cartoon shows with good female main characters, usually they’re shite especially now, but from The Mighty B to My Life As A Teenage Robot they’re GOATs
I always considered Mighty B as one of the most underrated nicktoons and one of my favorites. I remember watching Parks and Rec I always thought of Leslie Knope as a grownup Bessie
I remember this show premiering, I can’t believe it’s been that long! I’m a sucker for chaotic shows and this one was one of my favorites! The episode that really got to me though was Body Rockers, I’ve always had a weird feeling when it came to episodes that take place in the human body (which is ironic since my special interest is Osmosis Jones) but something about the thought of tiny humans in my bloodstream made me gag and that episode was no exception, even though it was just a museum exhibit in canon. It just weirds me out but the visuals for that episode were really good! I loved the gross out shots 😂

Thank you for steering people towards the works of Jean-Jacques Perrey, his music might not be as innovative today as it once was but it's sound remains unique and inspiring.
Great video about a cartoon I thought was just a fuzzy memory!
Do you know the name of the music he made?
Omg i love that you made this video i use to love watching the mighty bee growing up
Ok. I'm too early to comment. Heres my opinion. The mighty B is truly a mighty entertaining cartoon. It has truly earned its title. To the art and Writing. I wonder if there was a planned season 3, would it had been story driven
It's one of my favorite Nick shows lol
@@kingmagikarp97so true.
I loved this show sm!!! i have been WAITING for more youtubers to talk about it!!!
I love that this video is 4:3. Every video I make will be 4:3 once I animate
me too
I loved the Mighty B! One of the most memorable and craziest Nick shows that I’ve watched!! 💗💖
That clip at the beginning was so surreal that i still can't believe it
I loved mighty b growing up and today I found a dvd at the thrift. so this video is very on theme 😂
XD
Dunno about THAT, Chowder probably takes that honor. It's the closest any show had to that spirit, this is more of Ren and Stimpy.
I know it’s a cartoon and there’s no way for this to be true but I like to think Bessy is just a young Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec, her overachieving nature kinda helps as well as being played by the same actor as well
Thank God other people remember this show. "Running with the rainbow unicorn" has been stuck in my head since that episode's release lol
As someone with autism the Ben Appetite episode really made me feel heard
I had a ratatouille moment watching this. Apparently it was enough of a core memory that I was remembering the clips shown.
This show's energy and writing kinda reminds me of a late 2000s version of It's Pony, but with much higher energy lol.
I love It's Pony.
I'm disappointed that It's Pony didn't get much talk and was purged to Nicktoons.
The SpongeBob being real bit ended my life and earned you a sub
Oh man, I've never heard someone talking (in a good way) about this cartoon. I loved Mighty B when I was a child and I remember how my older sister bullied me for watching it
And yeah, that show has a huge Ren and Stimpy energy, maybe that was one of the reasons why I liked it🤔
Unfortunately, in Latin America the show was totally ignored so maybe I've never seen the 2nd season. I need to rewatch it... someday
It never got a 3rd season, it ended at 2.
@@TheKingPrawn24 Oh yeah right, I meant season two, I think I got a little confused 😅
Fun fact: in Latin America the remaining 13 episodes and 24 segments were released before the United States, ending the series 7 months earlier on November 6, 2010, while in the United States the series ended on June 12, 2011.
as a child the episode where they went to some taffy factory the gross humor in that episode really messed me up
The Harrison Ford M&M-sona is even scarier than the Micheal Bay one.
I remember this cartoon feeling like it was what adults wanted children to find funny, but actually wasn’t funny to children.
It’s a fiercely underrated show.
I was actually rewatching this show when I used to have a paramount+. So much nostalgia bc I loved the show as a kid and I love it now as an adult. I wish they'd have certain times where they played old Nick toons on Nickelodeon!
My cousin always thought I was making this show up lmfao, since it never came on during the day in our country
Nickelodeon is uniquely good at making cartoon shows with good female main characters, usually they’re shite especially now, but from The Mighty B to My Life As A Teenage Robot they’re GOATs
One of my favourites hahaha
Idk why but I’ve always loved spastic cartoons like this, reminds me of old internet vids
This show was a fever dream to me, mostly because I watched a few episodes from my xbox 360 I think on netflix back in the day when they were new.
This show deserved better, i loved watching it and was so sad when it stopped airing.
OMG OMG OMG! I have seen this and watch this video with Snoopy Smoke and Black Peter Griffin on RUclips and it was awesome! I love The Mighty B!, Kenan Thompson, Kevin Hart, Spongebob Squarepants, Daniel Radcliffe being The Mighty B! fan, Amy Poehler and the music playing in the background! I have been binge watching this since 2019! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
