thank you, spilled beer over mine and many keys stopped working , removed the batteries and didn't use it for a month ... now it's working again but part of the backlight is quite dimm. cleaning time!
I love this keyboard, hands down it was the best I've ever used. Someone else spilled wine on mine and the keys simply didn't work or gave wonky commands totally unrelated to the key. I tried disassembly and cleaning but it proved to be too much for me to put the delicate keys back together to even see if cleaning worked. Shame Logitech doesn't make this keyboard any more. I don't know why they need to change all the time if it's a good thing don't fix it. Suffice to say, I'm extremely aggravated I have to replace this keyboard with another that isn't as good.
Thanks for the detailed help. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. My guess is that the liquid reached the electronics before I attempted to save it. I replaced it with a K545 and I like it enough. I just didn't want to spend the money on the MX and you can't find the K800 anymore.
This guide here was not very helpful. It's like removing a tire from a car and calling it "disassembling a car". Cleaning the contact sheet may help you. This dude here just vacuumed his K800 and made a video about it.
spilled Canada Dry - able to take the keys off and clean it. Two of the keys won't pop back on. The white plastic doesn't seem to sit properly on those 2 keys. Seems like a waste to throw it away, especially given the current price.
Such a nice keyboard. Too bad Logitech have to be such jerks about the battery not being replaceable. Mine's getting a bit tired and needs replacing, but I need to perform surgery to do it. Wouldn't Logitech just love it if I trashed it and bought another? Just for a worn-out battery? Ain't gonna happen.
@@ChuckD59 is it because it''s kinda hidden behind the compartment, so you can only get to one of them? It's not too bad popping off the back panel to get to the other battery, or you can replace just one and it'll power it for a while.
@@mantelmann13 I don't give a shit. If you have a K800, you have replaceable batteries. There is no "newer model" of the K800. You can't just say "newer models" of a keyboard that doesn't exist anymore, he could be referring to literally anything.
