It's not how it scales up to a 4090, it's the reshade that was added. On a 4090 the game should have a more muted look, even with the sliders maxed out, allowing you to see more detail than we see in this video
@@kyle_284 Ok, I’m not claiming to know what specifically is causing the issue. You know what I was thinking about today. No matter how realistic graphics get, how amazing a video game is, how lifelike it looks and all the details and music and everything. Can those feelings compare to an amazing trip somewhere? I realize they are two different things too but also share similarities, they're both escapes. I was just thinking about it, what would you rather have? A dream vacation or a 4090? If you had to choose.
A "dream vacation" assumes that it's always been a dream for you to go to this vacation spot. This means that regardless of what happens there, there must be unforgettable memories. I will also assume that if you were an avid gamer, that means that you don't vacation very much. It also assumes that you're already atleast somewhat desensitized to the experience of obtaining an upgrade to a computer. Emotionally speaking, a dream vacation would be more unforgettable. However, this goes the same vice-versa. If you vacation alot, but don't game alot, then a 4090 would be emotionally better for you. But if you vacation alot, then does it not mean that you have enough money to buy a 4090? Questions... and no answers.
@@harant8036 Very true. They're wonderful journeys that would otherwise not be possible. A one or two week vacation is nice and yet owning a 4090 is years and years of joy. Of course a two week vacation or even one week can be a life changing event too that can stick with you for years also.
this game is another timeless master peice, they matched the story to the graphics, I still love red dead 1 the most but they made a true sequel in a lot of ways here. I say it Again and Again.

this will probably look silly to your grandchildren who will be living inside video games that looks like real life and even feel it with haptic vests and accessories
Doubt your interest will continue when your grandchildren arrive. If it's merely about graphics, it would be completely outperformed, when your grandchildren's are old enough. You would probably just hang around in the matrix showing your grandchildren the local brothel in Saint Denis in 1895, and Rockstar would charge you with a 10m ad about eating vegetables.

I don't know what the minimum size is but I think a few more iterations are in there. less than 1 nm that is. btw, quantum computing is no dream or vision. it already exists. not like fusion reactors that are still not giving out more energy than you pump into them to start them. organic pcs are very much in the early stages. but if you think of new architectures with organic cpus... like real ai embedded then i think that will take at least 50 years to have some usable results. another topic are nanomachines. that s something to be excited for. :)
my biggest problem with the enviorement graphics getting better and better is that somehow the character graphics specially for human beeings are so much behind that they often feel like they are in the wrong place compared to everything else, they somehow dosent make any progress in that
There are several problems with that. First off, we are social creatures and thus extremely good at reading body language and facial expressions and especially eyes. Very small movements are extremely important. Whenever animators try to to go for realism they easilly fall into the "uncanny valley" which is when something looks real but feels very wrong. Its much easier to do something that is obviously fake like a cartoon character. Skin is also a hard texture to recreate. It has several layers and interacts with light in a special way. Not to mention you have different pigments, sweat, hair, skin texture, contractions/skin folding and muscle movements to worry about.

Looks amazing but we need more focus on things like feet and hands making realistic contact with objects around them...the way the plants bend etc....I'd take realistic hand/feet/body contact with surrounding objects over more resolution any day
The image is so detailed and sharp that you begin to see some errors on shadows when they get close to the players body (you can see clearly at 0:53 the rock's shawdow near player's right arm). I thing they will correct it for the next games thinking on 8k resolution...
It looks good but this is where running 8k or even 4k doesn't improve it much. It still looks like current day graphics. All the resolution in the world isn't going to transform anything but your wallet. Game design is what improves the graphics mostly. 4k or 8k just means you spent 2-5k on a PC vs 1k. Also how big your screen is vs viewing distance will determine how important higher resolution is. If you play on a 24" then 1080p is fine. 27"-32" 1440p is fine. 42" + can run 4k all depending on viewing distance. 10ft away on a 42" screen you might as well just run 1080p now a 100" screen then of course 4k. I just finally bought a gaming rich TV for the family room and I sit about 9-10ft away. 65" screen at that distance is still hard to see the sharpness over 1080p. I could easily go up to 75" to be able to see better the improved clarity.
I am so happy I am 22 years old. When I was 11, I experienced RDR1 and was in awe of how realistic the game looked and felt. I cannot even begin to imagine what games will look like another 10 or even 20 years from now. I am incredibly excited for the future. And grateful for what we have in the present.
It's funny how people are saying in the comments the graphics are great. Yes they're great if you're watching this on an 8K TV. I'm still getting used to gaming in 4K @ 120. Its going to be years before 8K gaming becomes a thing. 8K TVs are still expensive, and not everyone has one, especially 8K OLED TVs. The cheapest 8K OLED you can buy is $10,000. Also, the RTX 4090 is insanely expensive. For a graphics card that expensive, I would wait until the price drops.
Realism has little to do with resolution only. Too many variables are in play, like lighting, shadows, textures etc. 8K will simply not be sustainable in terms of power consumption of monitors and GPUs. You can have an ultra realistic graphics even on 1080p on a smaller screen, provided that the aforementioned traits are covered.

but can you travel to space, or to 19th century? games are simulations of things you can not or don't want to experience in real life
A "dream vacation" assumes that it's always been a dream for you to go to this vacation spot.
I say it Again and Again.
it looks nice just got mine rtx 4090 i gotta download the game! cant wait to play it
The water so realistic my keyboard got wet :D
me watching at 144p: magic
I am 25 years old now. I will definitely remind my grandchildren and children of this game when the time comes. Because it is one of the most perfect games to be seen in the world.
this will probably look silly to your grandchildren who will be living inside video games that looks like real life and even feel it with haptic vests and accessories
@@thomasnielsen5580 probably about eating bugs to stop climate change.
@@lobiankk77 a better prediction than mine.
No you won’t and you shouldn’t.
é incrível pensar o quanto os gráficos dos jogos mudou tanto em apenas 20 anos
Having a PC with these specs is my dream . You should be thankful brother ❤😊
The water in Nightingale looks very similar! I was so impressed I stand on the beach watching it until sunset. Then the stress test was over hahaha
amazing insane although yes very far from realism...there's still a long way to go before we reach cinematic-level realism
I think about 15-20 years to full realism in PC.
@@АндрейРощин-х6л Problem is we might reach a point where they can`t make things smaller. Once they reach 1nanometer things is going to get much harder to improve.
@@Dewalt-mh1dz true moore's law, i think isn't really valid anymore as you said once they reach 1nanometer things are going to be harder to improve. I think that they should come up with a new chip or new pc hardware but that just me and probably won't happen any time soon maybe in 20 to 30 years' time. 🤷♂
@@DivineBaihu there are some technologies on the horizon that might make that possible. but I think it ll take another 20-40 years until they are usable by consumers. e.g. quantum pcs and organic pcs. but btw, 1 nm is not the border. there are still improvements to be made. :)
@@caschque7242 I thought 1 nm was the point where quantum tunneling can occur and thats why it was said to be the limit
Thank you for this ride!
glad you enjoyed it :D
It doesn't even look that different from the normal game. Just goes to show what an incredibly beautiful game it already is.
Totally agree
The beginning beach part reminded me of far cry 6 so much
this game came out almost 5 years ago 5 fricking years and games that realse today cant even get near to this
my biggest problem with the enviorement graphics getting better and better is that somehow the character graphics specially for human beeings are so much behind that they often feel like they are in the wrong place compared to everything else, they somehow dosent make any progress in that
True, they need more work
There are several problems with that.
That issue is magnified in VR. You end up in the uncanny valley even with cartoon graphics.
@@abram730 not sure, i play a lot of vr and when im playing games like Vallheim in Vr it takes about 15 to 30 min and im completly in. It nearly seems like the phsysiks and looks become my new reality for the amount of time im in there. This took some time and this effekt wasnt there right at the start. For example the first time i felt it was when i held the cam corder in phasmophobia vr and looked though it. I could FEEL the cam corder for real. The bad Graphics didnt changed anything for me it felt so real and it tricked my brain.
Looks amazing but we need more focus on things like feet and hands making realistic contact with objects around them...the way the plants bend etc....I'd take realistic hand/feet/body contact with surrounding objects over more resolution any day
People are gonna be playing this on a 100 dollar phone in the future and complaining about the graphics
This is what it felt like graphics wise playing the game for the first time on Xbox
Thank you that was very relaxing to watch
Damn I'm in love 😍
Hopefully one day I'll have enough to afford a pc like this and try this kinda stuff out
in few years current pc and laptops will be cheap to buy
understandable, theyre humans too
As DLSS & Nanites get better, real time and pre-rendered to some extent will look closer than ever.
The image is so detailed and sharp that you begin to see some errors on shadows when they get close to the players body (you can see clearly at 0:53 the rock's shawdow near player's right arm). I thing they will correct it for the next games thinking on 8k resolution...
@Mr. King ???
3:38 Tree Textures: "alright, imma peace out".
“Close to realism” and also “runs through tall grass with no visible effect”
8k is the dream
This is stunning. To be able to play so smoothly at 8k. Incredible. Was this using dlss 3.0?
Red dead still no have dlss 3
2.3 he was using
allm
With the power of Unreal Engine 5 The game modding is going to be obsolete lol
@@zeus4634 then which can can bear it at 8k? i doub the rtx 4090
Daaaaamn that looks beautiful!! Not sure why it looks like Arthur is holding in a fart though.
This is my favorite game of all time. Played it 100% 3xs. Freaking amazing
Nest Level Gameplay Quality. 🔥🔥
I see this game, my heart races. What a masterpiece.
The only game that I can play over and over again and never get tired of is RDR2. Arthur
Gorgeous. Give it 10 more years. Can't wait to see what we'll have then.
I am so happy I am 22 years old. When I was 11, I experienced RDR1 and was in awe of how realistic the game looked and felt. I cannot even begin to imagine what games will look like another 10 or even 20 years from now. I am incredibly excited for the future. And grateful for what we have in the present.
Looking where the world is going, it won't be anything in 10-20yrs.
@@MalinowyWampir What you on kid?
@@goldytwatus1674 He is on your mom that's for sure.
My computers sweats playing this video @ 4K, I can't imagine actually playing the game.
Upgrade your system bro. Prices are much lower now. A good processor is like 300 dollars.
You ar good bru❤

@@joeking5215 not at all sir. just saying!
0:53 There's the Wierd effect and arthur hand that removes shadows, what kind of reshade did you use?
Realism has little to do with resolution only. Too many variables are in play, like lighting, shadows, textures etc. 8K will simply not be sustainable in terms of power consumption of monitors and GPUs. You can have an ultra realistic graphics even on 1080p on a smaller screen, provided that the aforementioned traits are covered.
8K's gonna make a lot more sense in VR than with conventional screens for sure
This is the most relaxing game ever...
This is what I dreamed about some day as a child playing the 64
The amount of details are impressive
This makes me wonder what gaming will look like in 10 years.
Even in 10 years there wont be much games with that much lvl of detail
@@roughedup cyberpunk 2077 would be finally be able to have the quality to be release as beta that time

Hi ! You seem to have figured out a way to get rid of the pop-in shadows at the edge of the screen (caused by screen space shadows). Could you tell us how? Thanks ^^
You mean the vignette?
@@geimenberg1718 No, I believe it is unintentionally created by SSAO or something. Especially noticeable on mountains for example, shadows are added on screen while moving the camera around.
@@MoodySelection i think hes saying the vignette effect is hiding it maybe?

Not a whole lot different visually from the vanilla look. Lights are still just as volumetric, sun still feels hot and the haze of the day still feels real. I'm sure theres plenty going on under the hood but I've been playing it recently and this isnt really a different experience.
