The best thing of this mission is that Micah wasn’t in it.
The best part of the mission is that there was no micah but Arthur was in it
He was eating some cheese meanwhile
Yep so we didnt have to listen to him bich bla bla bla
Well him and Kieran were left to guard the camp since the rest of the gunmen attacked
He wasn't in so Kieran. Dutch told Micah and Kirean to if anyone strange turns up kill them.
This is one of my favorite missions not only because it’s fun but because of how badass it looks with the whole gang altogether
Yeah it’s awesome 😎
The Gang at its prime is a beauty to behold and a force to be reckoned with
The Bacon Lard and with Micah out of it
@The Bacon Lard - Agreed.
That gang was always a joke boah...
This mission is one of my favorites, beacuse:
1. Looks badass
2. Whole gang is together
3. Micah isn't in it
4. "They took my son!" - proceeds to take his boys, assault and burn to the ground Braithwate manor
5. Sound design
6. Incredibly fun to play, even though your role isn't as big as in other missions
Number 6 is why it's so appealing. You ain't the main focus. In another universe, Arthur could be a NPC in this mission and nothing would change. It stands on its own.
7. John Marston being a badass
8. "You inbreed trash"
@@q3v259 8. The gang walking up to the house like the badasses that they are
@@KingGemini87 yup i think i will replay rdr2 again after 1 year
This mission is why I think Dutch wasn’t always a fraud, IMO he was genuinely hurt and angered that the Braithwaite’s dared come into their camp and kidnap Jack. He didn’t care about there ultimately not being any hidden gold, he rode to the manor with one goal, to get Jack back and destroy the family for even touching the boy. This is probably the last big time that Dutch was the man that Arthur knew.
Totally True
well he did act kind of cruel here, shooting the sons in front of Catherine. I mean they were trash but still, kinda fucked up.
@@flemmingmatiasvermeulen9608 Those fools brought that on themselves.
True.
IMO it's when he comes face to face with Angelo Bronte that his "switch" happens.
He compares himself to Bronte, thinking he's on the same level or even better than him. And when he instead is used by Bronte, Dutch's ego takes a severe hit and that's when the gang starts noticing a dark change in Dutch's morals/bonds (ex. Their reactions to how he kills Bronte)
@@flemmingmatiasvermeulen9608 no sympathy when people bring children into conflict, children are completely innocent to the world around them, someone who isn’t and tarnishs that innocence for their own personal desires deserves no mercy
John was walking faster than everyone the same way a concerned parent would be. Then wise Hosea realized and pulled him back. This game was 11/10. I'm gonna beat it a third time with low honor
I played it about 30 times always being a Good Boah
I just Can't play with bad Honor just Can't
Time stamp?
4:25
it just felt wrong with arthur character to play with low honor especially on his path for redemption
I have never completed any game with an honor system, with high honor. I be going out of my way to be the biggest piece of scum. its always more fun.
The Gang saved Jack.
So Jack avenged Them in 1914.
Bullshit.Only dad and mom.
Jack was too young to realize he was saved from anything. Bronte spoiled him so he enjoyed his time there.
@@Dresdenstl true, Jack doesn't even seem to remember being kidnapped and held in Angelo Bronte's villa when John mentions it in the Epilogue.
@@Ooth9999 I hope to god what ever sequel they make breaks that cycle
@@Dresdenstl papa bronte
“We’ve lived in this house for a 120 years!!!”
Me:And we took it down in 12 minutes your point.
@Shift literally shut up
Dutch: *Lol ok so?*
Arthur: And it took only 12 minutes to set on fiah, ma'am. Therefoah, your argument is invalid.
@@capeck1993I read that perfectly in Arthur’s voice. Nicely written
The voice acting is just overwhelming. Whoever played the woman did an incredible job
The anger you can hear out of Dutch and John is outstanding.
This is one of the most memorable missions I’ve ever played, the marching music as the gang rides up to the house is so baddass, missions like this aren’t seen in most video games today.
I know what u mean it kinda gives u the feeling that the gang will never be this tight ever again
It's like this was the peak and it's all downhill from here
GTA IV Saving Roman?
@@BellicIV I haven't playedvGTA 4 in a while I remember that being a good one.
Any other games with missions like this?
I love Arthur preparing his weapon when Dutch says "If you ain't gonna be civilized about this...", it adds so much to the tense scene
I really want a mission where they truly roleplay it. Maybe drink a little gin while Dutch spins his yarn.
God imagine an RDR2 show like they did with the last of us
I never noticed how horrifying this mission was until my second playthrough. What a masterpiece of emotion.
What a shame that beautiful manor was destroyed.
@@freddy9103tbh deserved but still
If only Sean could've been there for the battle.
@@Nibbenji2077 no lol
Facts he would’ve went crazy 🔥
He will die 3 second in
That dude would burn it down
Oh he would’ve been yelling some shit
The fact that Arthur's role in this mission was small and yet, this is one of the greatest missions of all gaming
1:02 Josiah casually sitting next to campfire lol
I just forgot Trelawny's first name is Josiah. LOL!
He like good luck nerds
He's like "off they all go to wave their guns about again" 😅
Nice observation
6:30 That shot is so badass looking.
Yeah right?? I was looking in the comments for that
When I did the mission I made this shot with the double barrel…I don’t think the family was going to identify him afterwords even with out the fire.
8:25 "Boah, would be good if I could see where the hell I am shooting at"
*Literally Dead Eye*
@@floaterxjaY it's literally just the guy who removed the aim dot for cinematic effect.
@@oogeth that’s slightly stupid, I like the idea but when the execution looks as pathetic as this it just ruins my immersion more then the dot
IGN reviewer moment
I laughed sooo hard at 8:24 Arthur had the struggle of his life with those 2 dudes and John is like *PEW*
The guy who played as Arthur didn't aimed directly and locked deadeye on those two guys that's why he missed it and missed it more than two times.
@@Kenany1985
I’m two years late but the real reason why is because his guns were dirty as hell. It causes the guns accuracy to dip immensely.
I guess he just wanted to john to shoot
The guy playing is a fucking bot 😂
"Arthur you fuckin idiot their right there" - John 1899
The lighting, the music, the atmosphere, the story. It's perfect.
if you visit the manor after it burned down you find a gold bar and The Braithwaite womans burned corpse.
And if you loot her you find her brooch.
Yooo thanks both of you, imma go get what's mine
@@Blexxor12 bruh...
@@Blexxor12 okay... Wait a minute that doesn't sound right
@@Blexxor12 💀
Most underrated detail I find about this mission is how John goes from a careless deadbeat, not even bothering that Jack was his own, to a father ready to burn everything down for his boy. Even the way he cries out for Jack in the manor tugs at my heartstrings.
For better or worse, Jack being taken was where John changed for the better.
This is also the first time u see John be a complete bad ass 4:00 from this point in the game he talked wit that voice before he talked very low an not that much
John at Horseshoe Overlook talks to Dutch and acknowledges Jack’s his but believes he’d be terrible at being a father
6:26 I love this specific scene, Arthur breaks down the door and yells for Jack, only to find a man waiting for him and the way Arthur says “Oh shi-“ and then the shot and the killcam.. pure gold, best scene.
Rest in Piss Gareth and Gerald Braithwaite
3:50: I don't know whether its intentional or not, but the positioning of the characters is great.
Those Arthur trusts with his life and the morally best ones are on the right: Hosea, John, Charles and Lenny (prob age order too)
Those who go rogue and eventually you hunt down in the first game on the left: Javier, Bill and Dutch.
John and Charles are right next to each other, and they eventually build a house together.
Also by 4:05, the four in the middle are the big four, the Old Guard: Dutch, Hosea, John and Arthur.
My nuts burn so bad
Isn’t Dutch to the right of Arthur in the middle
You kinda reachin there dawg
@dayum son this made me laugh so god damn hard 😂
Wtf
Dutch went from, “let’s go save Jack and kill them all” to “John is dead and we have more important things to do than save Abigail”
Doing this after seeing Sean get his face blown off in town just really heightened the emotions of the chapter. Didn't even have 10 minutes to mull over their recent loss before they had to move to save another of their own.
Late but Micah’s bloodthirsty was completely justified in the Gray’s ambush mission
This mission alone gets a 10/10 and I don’t think I have to explain why.
Ubisoft left the chat
@@MrPhanisDavwhat aboutthem
Dutch's greatest moment at 5:10. Honestly, there isn't a single moment that comes close to this except for when Jack shoots Edgar Ross to hell or when John Marston rides again to attack the Laramie boys. But this right here, is THE best RDR moment in the entire franchise.
There are theories he used Dead Eye for those shots. Think on that, I guess
@@doomfan1993where’s the theory from?
@@squidward9747 Uh...a RUclips comment I saw on a similar video. So feel free to join me in digging deeper
Dutch proved he's a pretty impressive shot.
SPOILERS
...
He quickdraw kills Leviticus Cornwall with ease, and in RDR1 he knocks John out by shooting his binoculars into his face, from a distance, with a pistol, with one single shot.
4:04 me and the boys going back to mcdonald’s after they forget my toy

alvinraydj3 😂
Imagine you stealing someone’s son and giving them to someone else then you sit down for tea with family. All the sudden a bunch of gunslingers show up and kill everyone you love and burn your house down only to watch
Then you get what you deserve
They should have immediately opened fire on Dutch and the gang, if they weren’t willing to make peace I don’t understand why they let them into their grounds where they could take cover and would ultimately be closer to their keep, their decision making is retard lol it’s almost like they didn’t expect them to show up
I mean, she's from the south. She should really understand that this is exactly what happens when you mess with someone's kid. She got off easy.
@@AimeeHope89I think Mrs braithwaite should consider herself lucky that Jack's mother Abigail and the rest of the women of the gang did not come along with the guys. Because I think if they had come along they would have taken Mrs braithwaite alive and she would have possibly had an even worse end.
3:53 it was at this moment I knew everyone in that house was gonna die
8:33 John with his Dead Eye 👌
Yeah what An amazing save John is a badass and a buddy
I love how Abigail basically blames the gang for her son being taken but takes no accountability
"My son has been kidnapped! Why weren't any of you carefree murderin, theivin, outlaws watching him??!?"
- Abigail Roberts
I know right... Damn bitch
that is why John should've gone w Bonnie Mcfarlane
Dave .M i still wonder how they were able to kidnap jack so easily I mean he does wonder off but Abigail should’ve been watching him smh
Did any of you idiots play the same game? It was the gangs fault Jack was taken, if they wouldn’t have gotten involved none of this would have even happened.
This mission felt like being in a Tarantino movie!
Well the Braithwaite place was pretty much based off of that place in Django
8:30
Arthur: (Keeps missing)
John: Fine, I'll do it myself.
This is one of the most epic mission I ever seen in a videogame
“if you ain’t gonna be civilized about this…”
i’ve never played rdr2 and that line gave me goosebumps.
9:03
Women: you killed my sons!
Dutch: oh and I will surely kill the rest of them unless you start talking.
Me: there ain’t many left!
Edit: thanks for the likes 😍
I *LOVE* the voice acting on that particular line of Dutch's. Sounds so confident, cold, and cunning.
the woman is Catherine Braithwaite
John Marston I know lol not sure why I put women 😂
This game deserves a god damn Oscar and a proper edit to be a true movie. No reanimations, to changes, maybe some upscaled textures, and you have a proper film. Golden acting right here. I never felt so empowered by Dutch during a mission, this truly felt like the peak of the gang right here. Everyone is included with equal responsibilities and you're all on a ride of revenge. Also at 6:25 that little cut at the "Oh sh-!" was perfect lmao. Couldn't even finish his sentence, it felt like a true flinch reaction that just got lucky lol.
4:12 probably my favourite moment in any game ever

“My guess is Saint Denis… or on the boat to Italy…” this line is gold
8:22 lmao
Ghaffar_KH John is like “ step aside Arthur let me help you ‘’
When I first played this mission I had no idea what to expect. When they rolled up on the mansion, the moonlight, the dialouge, and the music I was floored. Damn this is a great story. A great game.
One of my favourite parts of this mission is that you see the true side of all the characters. And the writing is so good you would believe they are real people

I never realized she ran into the house when it was in fire. I only discovered it when I went back to see the damage the gang caused. Found her charred corpse in what used to be the main hallway
bro this mission made it look like arthur was a side character 😭🙏💀
Because he was 😹🙏
The only sad thing is that Sean wasn’t here
Before starting the mission you can see Micha sat near the campfire when everyone else is searching for jack which just shows how much of a scumbag he is
Its so weird because his voice actor is such a nice guy.
@@noidea4223 the actor of Joffrey in got was also very nice, same with Matthew mcConaughey who plays a nihilist in true detective, sometimes the kindest people play the darkest roles

I didnt notice this until my second playthrough, but its badass to think that if you do both the Sean mission and Braithwaite mission in the same day, you destroy both families in a single day in the most badass way posiblle.
This mission made me love Dutch. He's a bad guy but occasionally his hearts in the right place.
This freaking game looks beautiful on my old ass 32 inch tv but with 4k and everything else it's just absolutely gorgeous love this game so much I've beaten it 4 times and playing it again

Kenya Robinson I know why people was so angry that this game loses the goty but man god of war it’s to good
5:09 - awww sh-t, here we go!
I was so boiled when I enter the intro cutscene. The game really hypnotizes players to be within the game. The music, cinematography, lighting. Damn.
I went into that mission thinking Jack was there so needless to say I killed everyone I saw
"get the hell off our land!" you just signed your own death warrant pal
This game makes you feel like a legitimate badass
I love Dutch.
John: I'm gonna let fly at those sons of bitches!
Dutch: Stay calm John
Also Dutch: GET DOWN HERE NOW YOU INBRED TRASH!
I actually think this mission would be a great anchor for Red Dead Redemption 3. Picture this:
Lieutenant Jeremy Braithwaith returns from his tour of duty with the US army the day after this event expecting a Hero's welcome. Instead, he finds his mother, brothers, and entire family slautered. He buries his family and then seeks out his revenge. He finds out the Gray's were actually responsible for Jack's kidnapping. They wanted to turn the Van Der Lind gang against the Braithwaiths. Having found out, the Braithwaiths organized a joint rescue mission in Saint Denise with Bronte. Before being able to deliver the boy back his family, the Van Der Linde gang came knocking.
Jeremy Braithwaith seeks his revenge against the Gray's and works with the Pinkertons to pursue the Van Der Lind gang. Along the way he wrestles with who to blame for the incident. He blames the gang, the Gray's, the US government for keeping him away from his family, but most of all he blames himself for not being there. Being a total badass, he could have stopped the massacre of his kin.
Along the way he finds a love interest and he must choose between starting a new life in his wealthy estate or seek vengeance.
4:00 when me and the boys are freed from the prison in dodgeball
Dutch lost his head when hosea died , all he ever did after that are practically revenge except that thing in Guarma , Cornwall and using the Indians for getting what he call "distraction" is pretty much him just venting out his anger .
I think Dutch was having the onset of a mental illness.
With Hosea, his Jiminy Cricket, gone and Micah bringing out the worst in him exasperating his mental state. Then we can't ignore the concussion he sustained after the trolly crash.
My theory is he just couldn't adapt to the changing times.
There were a number of NPCS that had similar issues.
Some people can't adapt to change. It isn't easy...especially when you pretty much only have on skill.
Real life advice to real people is have more than one specialty and be a jack of all trades with others. That way you have more options. Skills are pretty much free.
jesus after seans death this story got darker
Yep it went down hill
The aesthetics of this mission are amazing
Hosea: I guess that’s the end of the god damn cribbage game.
💀💀
That graphics are just incredible
But one I must say....I've never seen cowboah THIS bad in shooting in my whole life!
Yep
Its worse than Micah shooting at John in the epilogue😂
The worst about this guy is that he's shooting with auto-aim xD
Vansh Rughvani Micah was a great shot, he just wouldn’t stop shooting, but whenever you got out of cover he shot u straight away
RafoGameplays he has no crosshair
most badass mission in the entire gaming industry
Dutch is cold in this
If u ain’t gonna be civilized about this pew pew pew pew the most badass Dutch moment
This was one of the most badass moments in any videogame
They kidnapped a kid from a murderous gang that calls themselves family, I don't know what they expected to happen
Probably the only moment that I definitely accepted Dutch's rage and sense of revenge. Aside from the Bank Job in Saint Denis
1889 dutch : easy john
1911 john : easy dutch
It's funny. Dutch left the camp I the protection of a rat and an O' Driscoll.
This is hands down one the best scenes in gaming history!!
7 men walked in. 7 men walked out with a building on fire behind them. Fucken cold ass scene
For some reason, she actually talked at the end. Why did she decide to? Not just like: “I’ll never tell you! You ruined my family, so you’ll never see your little bastard!” and not even spitting on their faces…
Well, she tried to do that at the beginning, only to see her sons get shot and her ancestral home get burned down. After that, she didn't have anything else going for her. Keeping the boy as leverage would be pointless, as that would only result in her being further tortured by the gang.
Being the proud and arrogant woman that she was, spitefully telling the truth, remembering them that they could possibly never reach Jack again was probably her best final move, so she could die in self-immolation close to all the corrupted values her family stood up for, instead of dying by Van Der Linde's hands. Very dramatic and creepy ending.
I love how when Dutch starts shooting, he doesn't run for cover, no, he shoots quietly, without fear of getting shot, so badass!
The only mission that competes with this is the mission in ch6 where you're in a line with the gang riding down the hill against the army
Cinematically wise but at that point all hope was lost for the gang for me, at least in this chapter I had hope for a few characters
Ah yes, even in my 91th playthrough I still cry when Arthur dies and still find scenes like this badass.
I love how badass that "if you aint gonna be civil about this" scene is. How he calmly goes into cover while killing those inbred pricks. Definition of badass.
Music is tops here & the walk up to the Mansion is epic..simply an emotional roller coaster of a game.
5:09
I love how Dutch is literally exposed to the enemy gunshots, while he still walking and shooting in a chill way before looking for cover.
Just imagine how GTA VI will be if this is RD2 , man this is perfection
Israel Moreno I doubt any GTA game can be better than red dead because of the rdr story
Her crying over her dead sons was pretty good actually
The amount of chills this mission gave me shows how good this game is
One of my favourite mission tbh
Bro Dutch is actually so fine when he says I’m thst voice “where is the boy”
Finally, someone said it (10 months ago, but still)
Easily one of the most impactful levels in video game history
Imagine being one of the people that lived there or the daughter that they locked away and seeing the sky just bright orange and red and seeing that the manor burning. Or one of the guards that runs away
Gave me chills and made me almost cry first time playing this mission it was so good
Imagine when jack realizes that when he was young the gang murdered alot of people just so he can be saved
I like how everyone in this game wants to put kids out of these business
"John I need you to stay calm" even though Dutch himself is seething with rage..
Guys im not telling lies but when i played this mission my heart rate increased 9999% times, i was hyped soo much, and not only hype but emotines oh my god.....i love that game
the best missions are when the whole gang is togather and by far this was one of my favorate missions
Dutch was an absolute weapon in this moment
7:55 Bill: "THIS FAMILY IS FINISHED. YOU HEAR ME?" Honestly one of my favorite lines in the game.
One of the best missions in the entire game
I like how Dutch raises his left hand slowly and pulls out his right revolver, he tricked them simply but effectively.
Best mission in the game, music and everything.
Best damn mission in the whole game.
Don't mess with Dutch's gang, his gang is not going to passively sit by when one of their own is captured.
This was the peak moment of both the game and the gang. The gang is more justified in their actions here than at any other point in the game. A child was taken from his mother, and every single one of them put their lives on the line to get him back without a moment of hesitation
