I remember the days when I had to buy an scx10.2 kit or trx4 then buy all the lcg stuff 1k build easily plus the brushless setup. This is a great pricepoint for something that really is rtr. Maybe a better servo but still crazy value for the $$ if you can getover the redcat name

The 100% don't care. They aren't making comp trucks. They're making fun trail trucks. I have a trx4 and an ascent, love both brands, but the difference between the 2 rigs is night and day, they are not the same. The ascent is a great performer and goes over anything I ask. But my trx4 is fun because of its limitations being a more scale looking trail truck. Makes you really have to pic good lines.

Redcat is killing it! I bought one of their cheap Danchee ridgerunners on an impulse last time I was in RC 101. Trailride last week axial SCX 10 died. RC4wd dropped a drive shaft. Gen 8v2 spun clutch. New cheap danchee still going. Round steer, crab walk, rear steer, rear tire lock, Doesn’t have the oomf the others did but for 170 bucks!!?? Thank you redcat, you’re putting out some good stuff. Oh. I’m getting one of these with my tax return.

Man I was gonna get the Vanquish VRD though I love original Ascent but this Ascent Fusion is undercutting that VRD(SO what vanquish hardcores or crawler snobs if VRD is better) we all win as RC hobbyist. Redcat is killing it just like when they made the Gen 8 Axe which I still have and love.
Having this rig now for a coupe days and actually trying it out on a 1/10 comp course. I have a feeling this $400 price tag isn’t going to last long. 😅 This now feels like an introductory price like the Ascent-18.
Yeah, and with Redcat doing the upgrades, they make people realize that the fusion SE is just as good as the fusion pro in this case. And they put on the perfect pinion for it.

Hey watch your videos and I commented awhile ago about something but I have a couple questions, first I am looking at the Trx4m Bronco what safety concerns are there and how do I avoid problems and what products should I get to solve those problems
Safety concerns? Are you aware of the size of a TRX4m? I guess be very careful not to step on it? That's about the absolute most dangerous thing I can think of happening with such a small rig.

RedCat is blowing my mind and the competition out of the water so to speak! I have the 1/8 scale Markman. I bought it because of the unlicensed Jeep body. The rig is a beast! I got it on sale for 284?. Then I bought the 1/18 scale Ascent. Out of the box it out crawls my SCX24 that had a lot of upgrades. I’m really looking at the new brushless truck. The price is incredible!
Do you think the side-hill return route failed because the battery is on the left side? Maybe try driving both directions, but reversing the truck to see...?

Redcat confirmed in their live stream that it’ s using a Fusion “RTR”. The only difference between the SE and this, is there is no BEC control. It’s just set to 7.4v
I got a red cat rds a year ago and love it, they’re seriously killing it! I’m hoping they make an 18th scale version of this truck because I’m looking at getting another mini crawler soon

And i got the awesome spectrum smart charger s155 i dont have the smart batteries but it works well with any battery And i also got the blue inserts with the green inserts just to test and tune the rig with the stock Ascent fusion tires worst case scenario i can also run both maybe Green insertets in the front n blues in the back or vice versa
It should have been the first one. Lots of buyers bought one after it was overhyped by lost of “reviewers”. After buying it finding out it was a disappointing performer forcing people to spend extra money to make it a decent package. Then using what people improved to bring the next improved one to earn extra money. They should have get it right the first time. Disappointing and giving the middle finger to the first buyers . No more redcat for me for sure.
Given the first one was their first ever high perforance crawler, it's a a good effort. At $289, I'm not sure anything in that price range can compete with it. This 2nd version is a worthy upgrade for sure. But not everyone has this budget, terrain need, or skill level. So it's good to have both to serve the market. Hopefully they can update the lower cost one with improvements from this one.

Now that people have spent hundreds of Dollars to make the og at least be not completely wrong, they just copied some of what people who actually know crawlers did. Excellent rig by redcat! Only downfall is the general purpose tires. They should have used a good rock crawler type tire. Superb rtr by any standards now days….kutos to redcat for setting the bar!
I was going to purchase a traxxas trx high trail. Now it's an easy decision to purchase the redcat. Redcat Cost less better rtr upgrades and far superior crawler.
its unfortunate this is just a clone with upgraded parts. nothing innovative and it doesn't look like they changed much else. the brushless had weird geometry where weight transfer was not predictable. it also was almost a reverse mullet where front axle clearance was higher than the rear. is that still the same here? Would love to see almost stock shootout on rigs of same price.. i.e. element vs ascent for example.

What battery do you use? Charger?
The Ascent Fusion can take either a 2S or 3S shorty LiPo. For chargers, you can use just about any brand of charger as long as it's LiPo compatible.
Is the new chassis class 2 legal? It looks to be a little shorter that the original.

Yes you can! These are beadlock wheels so that means you can unbolt them apart and the tires will come off easily.
