Personally, I would like more of the mathematical formulas and surveying techniques. However, I think that many who watch this video are also looking for knowledge in land navigation with a map and compass. When I navigate, I calculate the magnetic declination according to the local reference system, (Grid system on the map). Of course, the Meridians are best for reference if I'm going to refer to a map anywhere else on Earth. Here, however, you have to think practically, will I be able to go so far that the non-parallelity of the different grid systems is important? The answer is no. The magnetic deviation is more important between different points on the map I have. Especially if the map covers a larger area. So the simplest and most practical is if you have a compass where you can adjust for magnetic deviation and that you adjust it according to the map's Grid system.
However, I think you should provide various practical examples where you want to use the meridian as a reference, or other reference systems, etc.
