"give me a Goldwing on nobbies and I'll take it to the dunes" .. now that's a video I'd love to see
ruclips.net/video/EMrxee_fazo/видео.html
@@iankirven2711 hah, awesome
Done... 1979 GL1000... Nobbies! love em..lol
Just take a look at dos honduros here on youtube ;)
"Give me a Goldwing on nobbies and I'll take it to the dunes"... DO IT RYAN!!
Yay, now I can take my R1 to the trails!
Hahahahahha
Real men off-road a fully bagged Goldwing. With a passenger.
...or a can-am
Dont forget to lower your suspension so you have more stability
Look up baronvongruble he did that
Pointing to himself, Ryan F9 : A lot of us are crappier with wrenches than we care to admit
Few episodes later, Ryan F9: here is me rebuilding a whole motorcycle in 5 minutes
KTM_ADVrider it’s Satire, please.
@@bojangles3147 ADVraider's comment was ALSO satire :)
feo thx for joining the conversation
I know you're probably just being sarcastic, but rebuilding a bike like the klr doesn't make you a good mechanic, those bikes could be rebuilt by a toddler if it could keep it's nuts and bolts together. Have you seen him rebuild his f800gs? No, because that thing is a lot more complicated.
@@notnull5878 maaaan most people these days don't even know how to do a top end let alone what he did to that KLR. i think you give the average rider to much credit and not where credit is due.
5:15 Ryan casually flips off the audience and professionally presents a product
That Thing with the Goldwing... I WANT TO SEE IT!!!!
Me too! 900 plus pounds in the mud? I can't wait :)
Yeah, no way we're not going to hold Ryan to this one
Well time to look for Dos Honduros.
You ask, YT delivers:
ruclips.net/video/EMrxee_fazo/видео.html
Simon there is no reason for Ryan F9 not to back up his claims.... elsewhere in youtube I can find where a GSXR1000 was modded for off-road and went over jumps.....
Come on Ryan, no guts, no glory!
Ryan's reviews are as good as his riding skills off-road (especially with a V-Strom).
It was truly a pleasure riding with you last week!
Is that you Olivier? Thanks for the kind words bro! ~RF9
FortNine Yep its me. Reach out to me next time you are in town so we could ride again (we have rides in NJ or CT)
But what we really want to know is did you spit or swallow?
@@SimonBrisbane quit projecting.
My best ADV mod for 2017 was to sell my BMW GS and buy a DR650...
I did the same this year, now I'm one of procycle's best customers
cant go wrong with a DR, dead simple, light and still enough power to party.
Sherman Griffin they r pretty light for road legal but street legal dirt bikes r so much lighter
@@saltek1138 coming from the ADV world every bike feels light, lol.
I see you are a man of great taste and knowledge, Expat.
5:10 i’ve never seen someone hold A middle finger up For that long without getting demonetized on RUclips
Not surprised, didn't even notice it until reading the comments
This is why I love this channel. He does really subtle stuff like this all the time.
But he does it with such style....
I just want to use my scooter for off-road, that powerful 49cc engine produces some fine noises
Ha rode a scooter with knobbly tyres on an island in Thailand - funniest couple of days ever...
You should take a look at c90adventures
Nice subtle flip off to the overpriced grand theft item 😉
"Subtle"
I think it was fine to include that mod. it really seems useful but too bad it's overpriced. Also, I LOLed when I saw that "subtle" flip off
Easy there Bubba , better than testing safety gear with rifles . These guys ant going anywhere . I tried to run them off and they got better . Thanks
2017... How have I missed this one for 5 years... Awesome video, as per usual.
Another fantastic video Ryan! Your delivery is both professional, and seamless, and puts many TV personalities to shame!
Keep up the great work my friend!
From one of your many fans here in the UK! 😉
Ian Rochester .... Yep !! Ryan is very knowledgeable, and a brilliant sense of humour.... does a brilliant take off of Anthony at Revzilla....
I love watching your older videos. You're one of the few really enjoyable youtubers.
Wish you'd do a full video on the how & why of suspension adjustments. If you do, could you also smuggle in tire pressure adjustments for on/off pavement riding? Merci.
I've always preferred round pegs for pretty much every bike. The ability to give my foot more motion has always been a loved commodity, it might help that I have bulletproof feet from wearing boots daily but.
Just wanna say thank you so much for these super informative videos! They've helped me a lot! Keep doing your thing man. We're loving it!
I don’t think I’m ever planning on doing half of the things in half of these videos but goddamn Ryan is entertaining no matter what. Keep it up mate!
Just recieved some stuff from fortnine today and am very happy the quality and the delivery speed ! Will definitely be ordering again from you guys again
I can attest to hand guards. They are fantastic weather protection. I got caught in the rain and my non-waterproof gloves were only half wet. That's outstanding considering that your hands and head are the most exposed to anything flying at the front of the bike.
Great tips, some of these mods may even apply for street use. Awesome job as always Ryan F9!
Wow. Excellent presentation Ryan! I love the brutal honesty of it all. Lol
A good summary of basic mods that make riding in the dirt a true adventure. Thanks!
Ryan, I’ve been watching your channel for at least 3/4 of a year. Actually closer to a year. I don’t own a motorcycle, nor do I want to, but you’ve come pretty close to convincing me to. I’ve learned so much about bikes, most of which I’ll never even know. But you have such a great personality and I love the format of these videos, that I love watching them. Not for the motorcycle content, but more of the host and his personality and the way he portrays his content. You’re really awesome man. I love it and I hope to watch more bike vids of which I’ll never use but I’ll still love
"2mm of ground clearance" - chuckling... good list - thanks for sharing!
If you're doing serious off-road try to get a skid plate that comes up and around to protect the engine cases, effectively functioning as lower crash guards as well. Systems with an independent skid plate + lower crash guards often leave gaps where jagged rocks can get through and wreck your side cases.
Seriously, some of the best motorcycle videos on RUclips, Ryan F9! Funny, informative, and practical, your videos are the standard for first rate content.
PS: your finger to SW Motech was hilarious and well deserved!
Short, sweet and solid info. "Thumbs up" from this Kentucky boy.
Nice advice! Thanks for uploading.
Another awesome video. Great content and production, thanks.
Great reviews... love your humour 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
5:12 , impressive product display method!
awesome! thanks Ryan. I would really like to see an in depth video about suspensions, and how to set them properly. If I adjust the rear should I also correct the front? Does the rebound go along with the damping setting (same number of turns?)? do I need to count the turns and keep track of those when I adjust the suspension or is there a more reliable way?
It WAS a seamless transition. well done sir, well done indeed
Great videos. Many thanks. I am super interested in testing out Ducati's new Desert Sled. Although the 450 lb weight may warrant an engine upgrade in years to come, the suspension upgrades and aggressive stance are enticing. Any Ducati reviews on the Calendar? Sled and Hypermotard perhaps?
It's not often you see an online retailer give you a recommendation to buy gear from another online retailer, way to put the customer first, FortNine!
I ride an R1 and still couldn't wait to watch this video, keep 'em coming.
I have been hoping for ages you guys would do a video for this topic. Afternoon has been made!
Perfect! I happen to be a half drunk amateur mechanic!
😂🤣😂 I’m screwed I’m a full on mechanic but can’t drink.
Great and clear, excellent work!
Another informative and great video. Keep up the good work bro, nobody reviews stuff like u do. I'm very very eagerly waiting for you to review Royal Enfield Himalayan. Please consider this request.
I'm currently using 8 of the 10 ideas on my 2013 Triumph Explorer 1200 XC. I think I'll stay cheaper for the sidestand solution but I'm going to look further into the adventure foot pegs.
I've finally found the most informative of your videos for me. I have a Honda XR 250 and live in Laos. I head into the jungle for some srious off-roading every weekend. Do you have any idea how excited I was when I heard stuff comes from Thailand? :-) I look out my front yard across the river at Thailand hahahaha....
Really enjoy the videos blueridge North Carolina great reviews good quality productions .
This is a life saver when you need one the most!
Nice vid man! Well done
high quality awesomeness as always!!
For the kickstand mod, I use a flat rock on the ground. They're free and already near the kickstand
Another great, very informative video
Hey Ryan, another great video, thanks for the info. Is there going to be a test ride or review on the F800 GS?
Another great content video. Thanks for the laughs.
Always the best!
Thanks!
as always, great advice and content
Pretty useful for beginners... & Off-roaders... Liked it..
I wish, I had your confidence. Nice video, nice channel. 👍🏻
Crazy, i would never have expected that aluminum bars would be a better spring than steel on the bars. But holy crap this dude seems credible.
Great suggestions!
"And we're not that motivated to hit the garage unless there is beer involved" . Perfect! Ha Ha. I feel cheated if I work on a bike and don't get a beer.
I got handguards just to keep my fingers warm in the Finnish winter
Torilla pärkele
You got that too, huh?
27 seconds in, cold hard truth. Great Vid!
You are ok. Great and useful clip.
great video keep them going!
Genius advise!!! Thank you
Very good information.
Good job on the explanation
Hey, i know the title says off-road specificly, but i did not find any videos from you talking about on-road protection much. Basicly, im riding a supermoto and trying to cheap out of buying a "stunt bike"- cheap and made for crashing. Im trying to mod the current one (KTM 690 SM) to take a few hits before going down. Hand guards and axle sliders im sure are useful and i have no doubd about getting them, my question is mainly about protecting the exhaust. Are frame sliders, or ones welded on my tail frame piece a bad idea for protection against wheelie crashes and occasions when im dumb and cant take a fast turn and slide out, or are they great for protecting my rear fender and hell of a pricy LeoVince double exhaust?
I have found that for a dual sport in the 250 range a dirt tire on the back and the original tire on the front works well. I don't know if I would want a dirt tire on the front if I was still doing a fair amount of street driving. You don't want the front tire breaking loose on asphalt when breaking or steering, but the back tire doesn't do a lot besides deliver power which for a 250 a knobby can handle, although it will wear out quicker.
great video as always ry, cheers!
Scott steering stabilizer moved my bars up and forward on my ktm1190r, almost completely eliminated steering shimmy above 110mph.
Protect your radiator and everything with a fender extender. Some of the stock ones are way too short. Maybe okay for dry California and Arizona but here in the muddy midwest it helps.
it doesnt get wacked when going over rocks or logs?
@@michaelanderson9914 I made one out of rubber, about 3/16" thick. Works great. Protects but gives. And, just give it a flick and and any mud or debris falls off.
@@michaelanderson9914 Yea, it does but, since it bends, it just bounces back into shape.
@@timjohnson1199 good idea, thanks
thanks for another vid
Ok, my softail is ready to go to MOAB. Thanks. 😂
Can't wait to do these mods to my Yamaha Virago 125!
Hi Ryan! How about doing a review of the latest model of the Super tennere? I was at my local hardware store today and a fellow was parking his new Yamaha next to me. We got to talking about "his" bike and I must admit, it was pretty nice. But I need "your" opinion before pulling that trigger! thanks
As a recent v-strom owner, I find this video to be incredibly helpful
2:06 "...and this bike is overheating faster than a Canadian in Kuwait" LOL....good line!
We'll love to see you take an old goldwing to mountain adventure
Canadian in Kuwait lol
Phantom Rides Fucker, you are there everywhere I go 😂😂.
Phrases like this keep me coming back to F9❗️
...along with the subtle gesture to the overpriced item.
As a Canadian that spent 3 summers in Saudi Arabia, I endorse this description!
2 years later
Do you have a cold weather motojacket review? I am looking for a jacket to last the Australian winter, struggles to get to 0 degrees Celsius but looking for something that will keep me warm and more protected then my casual hoodie
hey Ryan, you should do a video covering hi viz helmets. not necessarily just the all yellow ones, but any helmet with a graphic that includes lots of very visible orange and yellow coloration. seems most of the helmets that have these layouts are either cheap and low quality or extremely expensive, I'd love to see your picks.
Is it worth extending the air intake and exhaust to be higher? Say bar height, So you can go in deeper water?
How do you compare your gs adventure and the v strom as road bikes and off-road bikes?
As a new Motorcyclist, would you recommend me getting a "Engine Guard" for my 1984 Suzuki GSX 400e?
Or should the engine be fine if i drop it while standing still or while riding it?
nice one bruva
I don’t even ride motorbikes I just find these videos oddly entertaining,
Hi! I'm thinking about buying a Yamaha Ténéré 660z ABS for medium travels and little off-road roads.... Do you know it? Any advice? Thanks!
Good stuff, now I just need an off-roader
Dude, last year I made 25 km off-road journey on a Suzuki RF900R (wrong turn + being too lazy to go back). I think there is no need to tell you that it felt like 250 km and the bike is very far from off-road capable, never the less all that gave up in the end was the speedometer cable, because of all the vibrations. That was one hell of a ride.
Can you do a video on different types of suspension mods and adjustment and why they do what they do?
side stand bird... subtle yet glorious.
Yup so right , I need to change the oil on my bike. I need oil, filter, wrenches, and beer.
Good job! i wish you posted your vidéo a day earlier i just bought my skid plate and radiator guard from another place and whit ravetech its much cheaper
I admit it's been a long time since I took material science and always though of steel as being heavier and more elastic than aluminum and that is why they make spring from steel. Please clarify or enlighten us.
Fyi your steel vs aluminum handelbar bend spring example is backwards. case in point suspension springs are steel and never aluminum (because aluminum "goes plastic "and stops returning to shape before for a given bend than steel).
heattreed aluminum is stiffer than soft steel for a given weight, this may be why you get more use out of aluminum bars?
HEY! Thanks for this Great video, and all of these suggestions!
Could you, PLEASE, consider doing a video, or more, on "DASHCAMERAS"/DASHCAMS" for use on Motorcycles, .....and, on "Helmet/transponder-radio Communications systems"
1:25 how are you riding if the sump guard "sees less action than engine bars"?
Keep the rubber side down.
Transitions were incredible. Lol
"Yehmeheh." Gotta love that Canadian pronunciation of "Yamaha." 😆😂
As I personally have spent an entire summer...and fall in Kuwait and indeed am Canadian, I can attest that would be freaking hot!
I would like to see a vídeo of you riding a Gold Wing with off-road tires!! 😂 😂 😂 😂
Now you have to do it!!!
Hello FortNine
Just want to know if we can swap a 3 row Oil cooler with that of a Computer CPU radiator, Since the computer radiator comes with mountable fans. The bike that I'm talking about is Hero Honda Karizma ZMR, which is based of the Honda CRF 230L motor. It is sold in India and some western countries. So please let me know if that can be done.
Regards,
Abhilash
