It's a "series hybrid", essentially an EV with gas range extender/generator. It has no transmission, so no CVT, but no rowing the gears either. The Civic hybrid is faster to 60 than the new SI with a stick, so... I still have my 97 Prelude SH and it's been a hoot for almost 30 yrs, but I'm open minded to new tech. I just wish this new lude had more angular lines and a long low slung hood so it looks like a "Prelude".
Great video and thanks for the coverage! But Honda officially ruined the 'Prelude' name...the previous model was a true 2-door coupe with a solid engine, etc, but now it being a hybrid-electric is so boring and wrong. Honda continues to ruin the old school models.
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this old favorite return to Hondas lineup 😀

It's a hybrid, but I think the sports mode S+ is great, NSX's gene DCT with 8-speed gear shift shock
Looks to be inspired by Porsche
