I did a set of dinner plates about 3 years ago using looking glass mirror spray paint and they still look stunning. I just used them for yesterday's Thanksgiving Dinner which we hosted for the entire family. Obviously, you can use any color you wish but he sure to seal your work in order to preserve and protect your efforts. Happy Holidays, everyone!
I love that you take you time with all your projects. So many youtubers just put up content that’s so rushed and at time the end product looks cheap. Thank you for your quality products
Absolutely beautiful! I have several glass pieces that I had no idea how I wanted to dress them up. After watching numerous DIY's, I came upon this video & now I'm inspired to start these today....After I watch more of your videos of course! 😊
I even did the copper finish on my salt and pepper as you did. I already had a lemon squeezer. You have good ideas and I have purchased some of your words on Etsy as I do not have a cricket. Came in just perfect and timely.
This is amazing! I love the gold touches you added. Great idea about the brown paper on your counter. I need to remind to do this I always get paint everywhere. I have painted silver and I applied a bonding agent first so that the paint won’t scratch or chip later on. Great idea thank you
Just when I think you have outdone yourself, you go and do it again. These pieces look soooo authentic and look fabulous at your coffee bar. I would be strutting my peacock feathers for days after this one, girl!
Aww! You're so sweet! Sometimes I even surprise myself with how things turn out. Experiments don't always go as planned but it was fixable in the end :)
Fantastic idea!! Turned out better than I thought! I had thought of changing my kitchen colors a little & this will be a great idea to add some more light blue pieces!! I love the jadite as well, I have a couple of teacups that are real & the color is so pretty.
OMGOSH!!!!! Your DIY has just blown my mind! I have collected real Fireking Jadite dishes and kitchenware for decades and have a gorgeous and colossal collection. We use them everyday. They're tough, food looks great on them, and they have become really valuable! I cannot believe what you created with 50 cent glass and a can of spray paint!! Yours is a perfect match!!!! I want to try this just to see it happen. Just amazing. TY! Great DIY for pieces you just want to display. Good job! Lisa
I'm so fortunate to have a huge collection of depression era jadeite passed down to me from my great granny! However, if I ever want to add pieces to my collection, I'm totally doin this! Your diy looks fantastic! 😍
Genius.......I love this look! The impact is high end ( love the copper finishes) but the cost is so affordable . This is my favorite combination! A small spray tent for indoor spray painting might be helpful. Thanks for the idea....what a great way to create a new look for little money. I can picture a navy vignette ....heck I can picture a lot of different colors and the price is right to do them all.
Shannon these are so beautiful!! Love the idea!! I am glad I am not the only one who does a lot of trial and error......lol tfs these beautiful pieces!!❤
Fantastic! These are beautiful dupes for jadeite glass, just gorgeous! I sold lots of jadeite in my vintage store and it is pricey...I can’t believe how great these look! Another winner, Shannon!👏👏👏
These turned out Great. Love the color. I purchased that bowl from DT as well and was not sure how I wanted to use it but you have inspired me to paint it as well. TYFS (Pauline S)
I too LOVE the jadeite look, but have found the authentic stuff to be extremely expensive. My new dinnerware is from Pioneer Woman and is called Heritage Floral. It is mainly blue and red, but has a beautiful green leaf in it that ties in the jadeite. I love it and am wanting to add some jadeite pieces. I have only one authentic piece. This is the perfect idea to add more! Thank you so much for sharing this idea!
These are absolutely stunning. I think I would still use the chalk paint along with the spray paint. Gives the gkS a more lush look. Also...believe it or NOT I just picked up a can of the pistachio spray paint on clearance at WALMART for $1. Wish I had watched this video yesterday...I would have bought the all of the cans. It may be worth my while to go back.
Wow...cant get over how those pieces turned out...i always look at target...just to pricey... girl you have done an amazing job! now i gotta start lookin for some good glassware....and that spray paint... love your style!
Great video!! Yes, we all learn from mistakes!! Thanks for sharing with us!! Pretty close to the real Jadeite color!! I love the added copper color on the metal parts.
The silver topped piece I use for bath salts and the cruet bottle for bath oils. . I use them for bath salts. You can also use cheap glass Parmesan cheese shakers. I have a few jadeite but am definitely going to try making. Thanks
Wow, Shannon, you did a great job. I'm gonna try to do get someone to do Rap for me. Because I have COPD now and I 75 years old and I can't do that anymore. So I'm gonna see if I can get somebody to do this for me. If I get the pieces of the glass wear that I want. I have seen a clear glass. Chicken candy dish with the lead comes off. I would love to find one of those CLEAR. If not if I find the color I'll just use it and paint it. I wanted to get some Jade I too, but I couldn't afford the antique stuff.Anyway.You did a great job.Keep up the good work.I love watching you
I LOVED your video! It was just the kind of thing that sparked my interest so I HAD to watch it. I even planned a trip to our local resale shop to find the "perfect" items to transform. Then I literally hear my great grandmother, who was an avid glassware collector, throwing her wings up in disgust, she is DONE with me! Still, your idea is an amazing way to transform something into a beautiful show piece. Great job! Love it.
Wow they look authentic. Great job.
The spray paint is truer to the color of Jadeite, glad that worked!
Wanda Allmond. What a fabulous idea! The pieces turned out beautiful!!
I am loving this... Reminds me of my younger days as my Aunt had a lot of this style.. I remember dusting them for her... Miss those days.
❤️❤️❤️
I love them, I have a few original pieces but yours looks good too. You’re so creative & always is a surprise. Thank you for your inspiration
I am lucky to have inherited my jadeite from my grandma
