- After colliding at Centre Point and blocking Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and New Oxford Street, the bus drivers needed to move their buses as the West End easily became gridlocked. But the not-in-service route 25 bus had an engine failure. Happy Tube Strike days..

The New Routemaster has a longer wheelbase than most buses! You need more room to turn them after driving regular Enviro and Wright/Eviseto buses!

The driver is an idiot. There was plenty of room. He should try using g his mirrors, there was no excuse for that at all. If that driver worked for me he would be out of the door!

Shouldn't have shut the Chiswick training centre where I learned to drive. Saying that, the old Routemasters were much better because you had the wheels up front instead of behind you. Poke them round the corner and the rest of the bus follows. Fantastic buses and a pleasure to drive.

@@thug2772 No Tayyib, you have to allow for the overhang at the front if the wheels are behind you. Wheels up front you don't have an overhang there.
390 (if I'm not mistaken) was the last new bus route to be allocated RMs, it having arisen from splitting the old 10.
Such accidents can't be avoided, dapat laging maingat. Ugh. Stay safe!

The 'London Transport' bus driver training school, at Chiswick was at one time the best training centre in the world for training bus drivers.
This particular driver has not received, the intensive and thorough programme of driver and skid training.
It is in one way not his fault. The blame and fault rests with the company who trained him, and then passed him out as competent. He clearly is not. However many bus drivers today are expected to work longer shifts on duty, because their companies are thinking more about their profits and less about their employees.
Should you take a ride on a bus in London, you will find many drivers are driving at excessive speeds because they are trying to make up time.
I do feel very sorry for this man and his colleagues. They are trying to do the impossible. In the end more accidents are going to happen, so please spare a thought for the driver behind the wheel. All the best.👍

Also make it low floor up and down and also extend the middle body part of these vehicles a little bit more so there will be more space for the wheelchair users. It wasn't engine failure, there's a sensor on the bonnet which if it thinks it's open, it prevents the bus from being started.

I'm sorry but The Metroline (Hocks and spits) bus driver should have been more professional! If you can't get through use code Blue! Maybe M'line should consider instigating a Safety Training School. This is so Sad as My M'line Instructor was Dave Arnsby - what a great bus instructor - he would be disgusted by this - as am I who am now an A.D.I Qualified PCV Instructor! 3 times I tried to offer you my skills to prevent this M'Line and 3 times you turned me down because I'm OVER QUALIFIED! I watch this and rest my case!
I applied with National Express - Sipson Depot! Their depot Manager also turned me down for the same reason! (Over qualified) - he saw me as a threat to his job! It's a shame he didn't look closer to home as Sipson Depot no longer exists! It moved to Reading and he lost his job! National Express did that! I might have been able to save his depot with my experience but he chose not to employ me! Again - I rest my case!
In such situations. Do they have to stand on the same spot for minute after minute? Or could they fix details later, move the buses and allow traffic to pass?
