Paul, you play better than the majority of first class concert pianists and yet you are quite humble in making youtube video for us etc Thanks!

What a powerful performance on an upright piano with substandard recording equipment. This should be inspiration for anyone without one of them fancy grand pianos.

That was an amazing performance. If I had to use all the adjectives in the world to describe how amazing that was, I would probably take up millions of comment boxes, or a lot of them. That was stunning.

Paul can you PLEASE consider making a tutorial on this gem? The way you go through the piece in large detail and historical/significance is amazing. I am sure many others are requesting this one as well. 🙏🏼

@@banaantjexx164 Yeah to me it’s so suspicious. Look at the left hand from 1:48 to 1:51, when he does the last rolled chord, the top F doesn’t match with his hand

Such musicality. I love this interpretation, for a piece which is usually just hammered through as an agility course instead of the poetic jewel box it actually is. Though I'm not enamored with the expression of some of the chords on the left hand in the opening/main passage, that's a minor issue. The gentle rest before the final arpeggio of the closing bar is thrilling.

    • @ruyfaco

Not good idea, you should try to help yourself with your wrist and arm both relaxed, the thumb is a finger which its use in legato represents a lot of movement; that is uncomfortable in this agile etude.

Creo que el mal sonido no es culpa del piano sino de la tensión excesiva que el señor Barton tiene en sus dedos.
