There was a new 3D DK game developped by Vicarious Visions (who made Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy) planned for the beginning of the Switch's life, but the studios' founders left and the project didn't pan out.
*Nothing but facts! They need to put some respect on DK* 😆 They teased us in Super Mario Odyssey with "New Donk City" and other easter eggs, so we thought DK was up next, but... 😔😅 There's no reason why they haven't given us a new 3D platformer game for Donkey Kong, *it's ridiculous at this point smh.* Regardless, I guess we gotta wait and see what they got planned.. Diggin' the channel and the beats as well, keep doing your thing fam! 😎🤙🏾🎮🎵🎶🩵✌🏾🎨⛅
Even more weird is that nothing from Retro's take on Donkey Kong is referenced at all in New Donk City but Returns is referenced directly in the Donkey Kong expansion of Super Nintendo World.
I noticed you said that if the new Donkey Kong game is a platformer, you’d be disappointed. But what if it was a “3D” platformer/collectathon something along the lines of DK 64 or Mario Odyssey? If not open-world
If it’s a 3D platformer/ collectathon, that’s would be amazing. As long as they don’t take the same approach to how they have been making DK games I’ll be cool. The last DK game came out 10 years ago And there isn’t a vast difference between the one before it. 🙃
It is crazy we aint seen an original DK game yet. As much as i wanna say COVID mightve messed up release dates for most franchises, i cant stomach that response bc Nintendo is just that big.
@@anOccasionalGamer Them not making as much money as Mario and Zelda 😂😂 Plus a lot of old franchises like Star Fox, F-Zero, and others were mostly made to show off new tech. With finding new tech difficult these days it makes sense that these franchises are kinda dead.

I think Nintendo is done with star fox. Star Fox Zero on the Wii U was a commercial failure, and we haven’t seen any sign of a Star Fox games ever since
Nintendo has been fairly lazy this generation. No new DK game, F-zero, Mario Kart, and a lot of older franchises. As much as I enjoyed TOK, it was basically just a huge DLC pack. Smash wasn't all it was cracked up to be and ven Mario Wonder left a lot to be desired. Mario Wonder was very short. Unless you are an RPG, Kirby, or Pokémon fan, this generation has been lackluster. With the exception of 2017, innovation has been lacking with first-party Nintendo games. Back to the topic at hand, a new Donkey Kong 3-D game is way overdue.
RPG fans are definitely eating good. A lot of older games stay relevant through dlc, but as you said, newer titles are over due. It’s been 10 years since DK tropical freeze 👀
@@anOccasionalGamerSorry to burst your bubble, but Retro Studios is done with Donkey Kong. That's why DKC Returns HD was outsourced to forever entertainment.
I understand not liking their selection, sure but calling them lazy in itself is ignorant. Don't try to downplay how much went into games like smash ultimate and mario.
@@TonyJenn I have been rocking Nintendo systems since the 80's. The quality on a lot of their new games including Smash is just not there. It is pretty much the exact same game as it was on the Wii and WiiU with more characters. Insulting my intelligence is not going to help Nintendo put out a better product. They have the resources to do better and have been living off of remakes and small upgrades for most of this console generation. While I do enjoy visiting the classics from time to time, it is not worth it to me to pay full price for a few upgrades.
Retro Studios was never the right choice for Donkey Kong as tropical freeze was initial met with major backlash for not being a Metroid game. Besides, the only reason Retro Studios ever did any Donkey Kong games is because Shigeru Miyamoto was upset about how 2007's Donkey Kong Barrel Blast turned out.
